  • Only one thing comes to mind... What the hell did he do to get stuck there? Guess that's why you should listen to your wife when she says take the next street on the left...

  • IS THAT TRIPLE H?

    :O

  • This is the scariest most fucked up thing I've seen in ages. AWESOME!

  • Saw this yesterday. Moshed like a fucking boss.

  • the first time i saw this i pissed myself

  • moshed to this today

  • moshed to this yesterday

  • I can get through the first 20 seconds or so and then I get lost. Damn Meshuggah for being so good.

  • Wheres the rest of the fuckin song? The ending is the best!

  • Comment removed

  • thanks vevo im watching one of my favorite metal bands and in the background its fucking coldplay!

  • Winter is Coming

  • The middle section is so good. I still cannot follow it.

  • I could watch this just for the music video

  • Shit creeps me out lol but good song

  • @ogichida30 It's in 4/4, the cymbal hit is on beat.

  • A 4:55min lesson on How to become Humble playing drums (specially double bass drum).

  • @bzaban A 4:55min lesson on getting to know Satan... lol

  • balls to the wall from the first downbeat. this song is as sick as sick comes! rhythmically superior!

  • lol u guys mad?

  • stop arguing and just enjoy the freakin song!

  • lol at people talking about smoking bud. dont be so proud of it.

  • v These people need to hush and enjoy the fucking song v

  • woah nerd rage

  • SAAATTTTAAAAAANNNNNNNN!

  • Polyrhythms sure can be a bitch.

  • @jordaniac89 Hahaha yeah, hard to play in some cases, especially this song, but it sounds sick in this song.

  • @jordaniac89 too bad there is no polyrhythm it's just 4/4 and cut time, all instruments are playing the same sig the whole song. no one is defying anyone in this tune. good job on actually listening to the song

  • @QuiteHotBros Hmm...is there really any reason to be an asshole? Maybe you should go find out what polyrhythms are...

  • @jordaniac89 i know exactly what they are i perform them with my band. and yes there is a reason to be an asshole, to shut up fags like you who just blurt out shit that isn't true to sound smart. get a fuckin life, my friend.

  • @QuiteHotBros Goodness! So angry! There's really no need for that! I would really love to hear your shitty high school band attempt to play polyrhythms. Any video evidence would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Great percussion!!!!!!

  • Fucking right top comment guy! God damn its so hard to talk to a band in music language

  • i need new speakers GODDAMMIT!!

  • fucking satanists

  • um so few views wtf hooly shit ppl r stupid

  • a post on another band's comments sent me over to this. this was my first time hearing it, literally just shit my pants... helps that i am high as a fuckin kite right now and blasted it with my headphones on.

  • @iLoveMetal90 nobody cares.

  • @j0bzz you cared enough to respond.

  • @iLoveMetal90 a zero effort, 1.5 second post seemed effective enough to get my point across. nobody cares when you heard them, weather or not you had headphones on, or if you smoked some pocket lint shake out of your mr. pibb soda can pipe. go to bed kid.

  • @j0bzz lol it doesn't matter how long or how much effort it took for you to respond. you still did. your brain, fully read my comment, registered it, and then you responded angrily for some reason to a completely non-aggressive, lightweight comment towards the brotherhood of metal. why did it bother you so much lol are you in gay denial or something? pissed off at everybody havin' fun? and don't be throwin' "kid" around because 1, i garuntee i'm older than you and 2, you're a fag!!! lol!!

  • @iLoveMetal90 look kid, youre trying really hard to make this more than it is. "mad" would be a pretty exaggerated emotion to what you typed. if anything i would say it was a lot closer to "passive annoyance" to kids saying cheesy shit on youtube. again, nobody cares.

  • @j0bzz ok. kid. the correct term you were looking for was "passive aggressive" and no one is making this out to be anything big except you. you actually care enough to keep this going instead of ignoring me and letting it go. and all you do is give smart ass remarks sitting behind a computer. so obviously i'm under your skin. once again kid, you do care.

  • @iLoveMetal90 you dont feel 'passive aggressive' you herb. no, the term i was 'looking for' is the one i mentioned. i dont care enough to get mad, but the 'oh no way i was soooooo stoned and i heard this song and it was AWESOME' comment you left annoyed me. its not really your fault. you can blame all the other 22 year olds who act like its their first time smoking pot, for ruining it for you. i would ignore you if i were pissed, but im not. you sound like youre getting mad that im not mad.

  • @j0bzz "...[the] comment you left annoyed me. its not really your fault."

    Annoy

Verb: Irritate (someone); make (someone) a little angry: "your cheerfulness annoyed me"

    thanks.

  • They do all their songs in 4/4, there is no 7/8 no 3/3 or whatever. Fredrik and Tomas have both said such in various interviews.

  • @ogichida30 The high-hat pattern is steady. It's definitely not in 3/3 because the notes would be in groups of 3 and not 4. And 7/8 is 1&2&3&a or something similar, there is no standard or you could do 1&a2&3&. I wouldn't jump to conclusions on the timing, but, it's definitely not either of those. It's probably just off-time.

  • @ligerman30 That's what I said, 4/4

  • @ogichida30 I'm agreeing with you.

  • @ogichida30 you know they like to fuck with people right?, do you know what poly-rhythms are?

  • @ogichida30 3/3 doesn't exist dickmeat

  • @QuiteHotBros actually it could if you counted in triplets.

  • @metallicahead136 ok cunt, find a song like that and i'll shut up.

  • @QuiteHotBros You're an idiot. There are 3/3 rhythms, just not in this song. My whole point is, it is in basic 4/4. Learn to read before you cast an unnecessary insult. Dickmeat? What are you an infant? For a 28 year old you need to go back to school and learn to read, maybe take an advanced music class too. Have a nice day troll.

  • @ogichida30 find me a 3/3 song you retard, there is NO song written yet that is counted in triplets. oh, and i'm not 28, i'm in high school, and i know more than music than you'll ever know. your the troll, just saying random crap that doesn't even make sense. get a life cocksucker.

    P.S:

find me and infant that says "dickmeat" and i will literally blow you. happy trollin'

    Dom :)

  • @QuiteHotBros First off smartass 3/3 rhythm has been around a long time. Like I said take an advanced music class. Second quit using your daddy's account then because it says you're 28. Third I wouldn't let a troll like you suck my cock, but thanks for the proposition anyway. You don't know shit, and aren't nearly as smart as your inbred ass mommy says you are. You're just a lame ass attention whore with an over inflated sense of import. I won't reply to your b.s. again so say whatever you want.

  • @ogichida30 your a bitch, bitch

  • @ogichida30 I think you mean 3/4. And yes this song is in 4/4.

  • I tried to learn this on guitar, I gave up after about 5 seconds. That fucking riff is probably one of the most brutally indescribable pieces of music I've ever heard.

You can't explain it, it's just fucking ridiculous with it's all out assault of your ears... and erection.

  • @xxxserialxxx Download Audacity. There's a feature in the effects that allow you to slow it down so you can learn it. It's not easy, but it'll be a starting point.

  • @homersimps1 Never thought of running it through Audacity, might give it a go.. cheers.

  • My house almost burns down because of a grease fire (still coughing from smoke inhalation), try to feed my snake a rat and he bites and rips open my flesh, then I play this song to top off the most metal day ever.

  • herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta herta

  • They worry about keeping the demonic essence of the video, they invited lady gaga 2:27

  • @alatamal Hahah!! Totally looks like her.

  • @lunchb0xbadger haha fukn awesome.

  • Meshuggah owns any other band.

  • Haake gives me nightmares. I wake up in cold sweats and then go and stare at my drum kit, knowing it hates me because I can't play it even 1/64th as good as this

  • the picking is sick ,very technical

  • machacate algo!!!!!

  • dancing to Meshuggah is like trying to ride a unicycle drunk as hell down a steep icy road.

  • lol the creature looks like he is from a black metal band!

  • NuclearBlast... wait what the fuck VEVO??????

  • how does their drummer maintain that bass and crash and snare...without losing time :'(

  • @ilikebearz meshuggah is known for their over the top preperation for live events. to justify this hand anyone some sheet music from this song and tell them to keep rhythm. it is my understanding that it took Haake more than a few months to master this rhythym, which is understandable since the actual songs rolls for more than seven minutes.

  • @revis32000 months of preparation just to master it live, wow thats insane.

  • @revis32000 Ive tried playing it at full speed and my arms and wrist die about a minute in lol, its insane.

  • @guitarguy2082 You lasted a long longer than me, dude. My mind can't even process playing that for almost 5 friggin' minutes.

  • HERTA

  • My friend told me it took the months of learn to perform their own music live, is that true?

  • I don't really consider Meshuggah music. Feels like they almost have no rhythm at all, but yet it's so addictive.

  • @UBConquered you obviously don't know what rhythm is. they are chock-full of rhythm, son.

  • Comment removed

  • @facepalm486 and if you don't think I know what rhythm is, rhythm would be something that happens in order and repeats. Meshuggah doesn't really have order, it feels like a long breakdown. Not saying they suck, just feels weird.

  • @UBConquered

Everything Meshuggah plays follows certain time signatures/patterns and poly-rhythms , everything is ordered.

If you can listen to this and think there is no rhythm you don't know much about music and song structure...

This song is so mathematically designed and rhythmically masterminded it made my brain bleed.

  • @evilcheese439 Maybe i didn't say that the right way, it seems like the sections change out of the blue. If you listen to other bands and compare them to Meshuggah you would know what i'm talking about. Mnemic kind of does the same in some of their songs.

  • @UBConquered SHUT THE FUCK UP DONNY. you dare come in here and compared Mnemic to Meshuggah. MAY THE CURSE OF ZOTH AMMOG BE UPON YOU PEASANT

  • @facepalm486 I wasn't comparing Meshuggah to Mnemic damnit, I was comparing them to other bands. Meshuggah actually likes Mnemic.

  • When that bloody gray guy opens his eyes, you know shit's about to GO DOWN

  • I find myself sitting in class tapping my feet on the floor to the impossible triple beat of this song. I'm not even the slightest but experienced in drumming, I'm into vocals. But it's fucking sickening and infectious, and I loves it. <3 \m/

  • @ShelborZ I meant bit experienced XD, song was too good and I fucked up.

  • Gay

  • I could swear the bald guy is Steve Vai.

  • This is the song I listen to when I take a shit

  • this song is reffeing to a bad meth trip

  • acid trip XD

  • this video would make a great concept for a horror film

  • Fucking beast mode engaged at 3:28

  • this is what happens, when you fuck with bald meditating scary folk

  • man that was fuking good.

  • Lol hertas.

  • I wanna wake up and see the albino bald man staring into my eyes..

  • Shit just went down....

  • Notes in a group of 3 ≠ triplets. The same could be said about children. Just because my mom had 3 kids doesn't mean we were fucking triplets. Eat theory, bitch.

  • @ImTheChillestIllest I'm not sure if you came up with that but that has to be the best youtube comment I've ever seen xD ( I'm not sure if that's saying much though)

  • @ImTheChillestIllest lol awesome :)

  • @ImTheChillestIllest You just fucked me up with some knowledge

  • nothin so special bout this band tried to give them a chance but.. lol. blew up. pure blast stuff.

  • @LPDXDX You didn't listen to any other albums?

  • @BenjaminKuruga hmm nopes. did i miss something?

  • @LPDXDX You missed alot ... Bleed is like their worst song (IMO) Go listen to "Catch 33" or "Nothing". Lol Blast stuff

  • @BenjaminKuruga really? lol... alright i will check those out and then i will tell you what i thought :)

  • @BenjaminKuruga sorry, this is Haake at his best. While those albums are great, their last album was a compilation of their previous works/styles. The last album is fucking tight and this song destroys.

  • @facepalm486 Yes, it's a great song, but it's their worst. In my opinion, Catch 33 is the best. Not to you but I mean everyones got their differences.

  • @BenjaminKuruga to sum it up 1) Chaosphere 2) Obzen 3)Nothing 4) Catch 33.

  • fukin headphones wont go loud enough

  • Will.I.Am on add on a messuggah vid? somethings wrong here...

  • @fataloxygen hahahahahahahahahahaaha

  • this is like dance music but just metal :) I should make a rave like event but play only meshuggah songs lol

  • @fataloxygen LMFAO.

  • Disturbing video. Lmao I like :D

  • At first I thought this was too heavy for my taste (getting up there in age), but Meshuggah is pretty fuckin' bad ass.

  • @homersimps1 are you kidding me? this is garbage, i assume you listen to blood on the dance floor?

  • @SaveUsSergio Your comment doesn’t make any sense. Firstly, why are you watching Meshuggah if you think it’s crap? Secondly, why would you assume I enjoy Blood on the Dance Floor? I had to search for them on here because I’ve never heard of them. I found a crappy pop band with voice synths. Is that the band you’re referring to? If so, how do you equate me liking them if I’m watching a Meshuggah Bleed video? Or are you just trying to be a dick?

  • @homersimps1 my dad is 42 and you should hear the heavy shit he listens to

  • @homersimps1 this is how it gets started. turn back now if you don't want to end up disliking your current genre favorites because you don't feel anything when you listen to it anymore... ;)

  • @homersimps1 ive been a fan for about ten yrs, they write some of the most intelligent and complex polyrythms and song structures. as a musician i can say it sounds like pure madness to some but its makes sense if you know how to pick apart the complexities. =)

  • the ad i get before this video is britney spears' femme fatale tour or some crap. FML

  • Vevo is a bunch of fukkees to take the other bleed vid down

  • always nice to listen to meshuggah to get the sounds of fucking dubstep, "scrEMO", and the poser-hop of the 2000s out of my head

  • @92Garrus what a whiner..

  • Lol arguing about triplets and 32nd notes? You know, you can alter the tempo and match the rhythm of notes using different durations. If you write 4 quarter notes at 120bpm it will match 4 half notes a 240. There are several ways to write anything. Just shut up

  • @G27dude well said.

  • LMAO It's all @xXPH4GGaTr0n5o0oXx 's fault. I yelled at him saying "THERE ARE NO DAMN TRIPLETS". Some people fail to get it initially, others don't have the mental capacity to understand. For those people, it's ok. Regardless, kickass song, yes?

    YES!

  • i'm in the weird part of youtube again aren't i....

  • I know they have nothing in common, but I think of the band Samael when I listen to this band...

  • I want to like this, but it doesn't really go anywhere. Guitars sound almost like synthesizers.

  • Shake-Weight's official 5-minute workout

  • Still the only Meshuggah song I like.

  • @fataloxygen This song turned your' daughter into Albert Einstein? O.O

  • Does anyone know what the drummers name is?

  • @Gr1zz3m The drummers name is Tomas Haake.

  • @hlslayer123

    DANKA!!!

He's a boss. lol. tis all.

  • @Gr1zz3m Ok, first of all, it's fuckin METAL....so yeah, plenty of people understand time-signatures and other "mobo jombo" (I assume you meant "mumbo-jumbo"). Secondly, just because it's a cluster of 3 notes does not mean they are triplets. They are 32rd notes. I programmed it in Reason 5 and made a video, you can watch it on my page. Good luck playing it, it's wicked hard I'm sure (I play guitar and synth, not drums, btw).

  • @SamAndrew27

i've been a fan of metal since 5th grade, and over the past 6 years i've realised people aren't very smart. I'm in a melodic/progressive deathmetal band atm, and the guitarist is amazing, but knows very little about musical timing.

i can't read music very well, so i learn by ear.

I've seen sheet music for this song, it has a very large amount of tripplets in it. except, he plays RLR-L not RLR-R

  • @Gr1zz3m You can believe what you want but the simple fact is they're 32rd notes. Anyhow, sheet music can be (and surprisingly often is) wrong.

  • @SamAndrew27

Yet, a computer program is more accurate?

    love the logic.

  • @Gr1zz3m Are you kidding, it's absolutely more accurate! That is sound logic, you should love it. And if you don't believe me consider this: Tomas Haake (Meshuggah's drummer) used Drumkit From Hell exclusively on the Catch Thirtythree album. It is an electronic, software drumkit.

  • @SamAndrew27

    i know what that is.

I'm done with this discussion, it was stupid of me to try argueing a pointless subject, when either way it's played sounds almost exactly the same.

i found a video on how to play it, and the guy shows the way of triplets and the way you talked about.

  • I dont like meshuggah much but fuck this is one of the best clips ive seen

  • @Truechuser Well... Roaches are badass!

  • i like how it says in the middle of the begginning part ... hey chyeah drug rehab for teens ... who listen to meshuggah lol it just tickled me. i heart meshuggah but i don't like the whole pop up thing

  • @fataloxygen you should probably just have her put down.

  • I started to get mad about there being an ad on this video, but the ad featured Chuck Norris so I ran and hid instead.

  • Why does vevo have to ruin metal music with their ads and all that crap for justin bieber around my video...stick to pop music damn.

  • I just clicked on the link that apparently coldplay42 liked and it was this. WTH...

  • i wanna do vocals like this guy....i mean, holy fuck. hes like James Hetfield and Shagrath rolled into one.

  • why was there an advertisement for hot chille rae before this song? what the fuck? WHY?!

  • My mind has just been fucked in such a way that any way less would be a disappointment. That was fucking brutal.

  • man, that guy is having a shitty day

  • Its weird how this is only 4/4. I mean it doesn't sound like that but it definitely is.

  • @iscreamlikeapr0 It's because of the 32nd note kick-drum pattern with the 16th triplet rests. At least that what gives it that feel to my ear. Pretty sure not all of the song is in 4/4, just most of it.

  • @SamAndrew27 ...just figured it out. The intro kick-pattern is: three 32nd notes (accent on the 1st one), a 16th rest, a 16th note, then another 16th rest. You repeat this phrase over the bar-line (even though it's 4/4 time), hence the "herta rhythm." And although there are technically no triplets, the accented notes fall on quarter-note triplets, that's what gives it the heavy off-beat groove.

  • @SamAndrew27

What the fuck are you talking about no triplets???

he plays the damn thing RLR-R <- triplet, single, triplet, single, triplet.

you think youre cool because you can go on Youtube and pull out a bunch of time signature related b.s. mobo jombo out your ass and try looking smart because most people won't understand it?

I've been trying to play this song for about months now, and the reason i can't is because i can't keep it steady without playing it RLR-L. and it throws me off.

  • @SamAndrew27 WOAH UR SUCH A TALENTED MUSICIAN BECAUSE YOU COME ON YOUTUBE AND TALK ABOUT PATTERNS AND TRIPLETS, ITS ALSO COOL YOU SHOW OFF MAN. GOOD JOB

  • @iscreamlikeapr0 It's metal, dipshit. It's all about technicality and everyone that plays it knows that. So no, I wasn't "showing off" at all. You can take your finger off the CAPS LOCK and put it back in your ass now, idiot.

  • @SamAndrew27 did i give u permission to speak? NO GTFO FAGSTICK

  • @iscreamlikeapr0 HAHA, wow. You got fucking OWNED and that's what you come back with?!?? HAHAHA. No. You lose. Stick to flipping burgers, fucktard.

  • @SamAndrew27 I think you both are missing the point. Music is about emotion not some fuckin statistic. You want who runs the fastest 40 time we have sports for that. It's supposed to be art and btw this song sucks but to each their own.

  • @metaphoria3 Yes, of course music is art and it's about emotion. BUT musicians like to appreciate the technical aspects of the craft as well. And the only thing this song sucks is your soul out of your body!!

  • @SamAndrew27 I like my soul where it is thanks. Dont get me wrong I appreciate technicality too however the emotion and artistic part of writing a song should be more important than how many 32nd notes you can play in a row.

  • @metaphoria3 I believe that the "32nd notes" are actually contributing to, if not creating, the overall emotion in this song. Notice how you couldn't breathe normal until the song was over. They created a suffocating, dark, rhythmical WORK OF ART that was so well done, in fact, that you felt as though you might be losing you soul just from experiencing it!!
