It's funny, every song people listen to of the Sheepdogs say it has influence from a certain band. But I don't think so, this is the Sheepdogs, this is their own sound, their own "roll". This is Rock N' Roll's rebirth!
The Hip, April Wine, Neil Young, Triumph, Trooper, Kim Mitchel, Rush, The Kings, Bryan Adams, The Guess Who, BTO, The Band, Steppenwolf, The Sheepdogs. All equal Canadian pride
I thought I was listening to Skynard the first time I heard these guys on the radio...what real Canadian rock is all about! Never lose the groove fellas!
@ed563 The Hip KICK ASS straight up! fuckin A! As well they've been around kicking said ass for 20 plus years.
These guys a awesome no doubt about it but they are not even in the same leage as The Hip....at least not yet. Let's see if they can last longer than most band's fame allows them to. The Hip and Gordie's lyrics are poetry at it's best and rock's equivalent to Gordon Lightfoot as far a Canadiana is concerned.
you can really hear ccr, the guess who and allman brothers in the music. as a musician its like a dream to see so many bands like this popping up all over canada. im from winnipeg and im dying to find some other musicians to get going.
@KMKlym Completely agree. I am in Toronto, and when I first heard this song, I thought it was a Guess Who song I'd never heard before... Looked down at "the dial" and realized it was a New Rock station and was like whaaa? These guys are awesome, hope they keep it comin!
@ivko1144 i agree with you 100%.. im a 27 year old who never really had a chance to listen to fav bands like led zeppelin, sabbath.....when i heard this, i thought it was like old school southern rock....i said to myself "how have i never heard this song?" never had a chance to listen to good music fresh off the press....i mean, iwas born 4 years after led zeppelin ended...when thy did the concert in london couple years ago, i had put my dream car at the time, up for sale for some tickets :(
@ivko1144 i dint end up scoring the ticket because it sold in half an hour...and ive always said that it sucks that there are no good bands out n e more, its all this new age garbage that bands dont last 2 albums before theyre fogotten..... THEN I HEAR THE SHEEPDOGS!! classic rock in the making, its lik havinga brand new 72 nova in my garage!!!
@voodoochildblu There's no Allman Brothers at all in this song, nor is this song Southern Rock. Any guys who think this song is reminiscent of The Allmans or Southern Rock is obviously not old enough to understand what Southern Rock was.
However, this song is very reminiscent of The Guess Who...which is about as far from Southern Rock as you can get.
