It is one of my favorite songs. It was 1979 or 1980, when I bought the disc with this song. In this disc, there was another favorite song: with you. I remember that gave this disk to a friend, because my pick up was broken.
yeah, i have it on cd. about the only lou reed album i've never seen on cd was mistrial and that's probably been released by now i just haven't looked for it.
oh and apparently you can get it on amazon used for like three bucks.
@ireallyhatejesus That's ironic - Mistrial was the first Lou Reed album I ever got on CD! As for the Bells, you can get a used copy on half.com for under $5 I think.
and I'm only 30. One of favorite Lou Reed tracks on YouTube right now is "Claim To Fame" not the studio version from Rock and Roll Heart (even though that's on here also) but a Live! version 76' playing over scenes from some movie "Get Crazy" 82' he was in with Ed Begley Jr. Awesome video/song.
Holy shit sorry I took so long getting back to you but it's only the audio from the live version over scenes from the movie. I'm sure you've seen it by now but I'll be back in a second.
Yes!!!! I'm so glad that this is on here, and even more that i'm the first to comment. I've loved The Bells ever since I bought it on used vinyl at Zulu Records in Vancouver, in 1987. I had moved from Kelowna a few days earlier, having survived the last couple of years of backwoods high school on a steady diet of Loaded, Transformer and Take No Prisoners, courtesy of some cassette tapes a friend had lent me. In the big city one of the first things I did was start collecting the VU/Lou. Thanks.
I'M RAPING THE FUCK OUT OF THE REPLAY BUTTON!!! <3 <3 <3
