I have been looking for a tutorial like this for ages and it just so happens that my hair is the same length as yours here. The only problem is I have straight bangs, would I be able to pin curl them and spray them to set into the curls at all?

@jellosh0tlady No, this one is a Youtube thing...the Rosie one was just an oversight on my part. There is a new 'rule' on YT that if you use copyrighted music, some companies won't allow mobile viewing. It sucks...but I guess it's worth it to use awesome music! Find you a desktop somewhere! ;-)

I've heard you mention sleeping in pincurls on occasion. I've slept in foam rollers, but never in pincurls. Can you sleep in pincurls using the duckbill clips, or do you use bobby pins or hairpins when you sleep on them?

@LaughALotSeries It is more difficult to pin curl long hair but you can, of course. Keep in mind that the results will not be the same as this since Marilyn had short hair.

i had hair down to the middle of my back, my hubby was having a freak attack when i told him that i was gonna get it cut. i got it cut to shoulder length, slept in with foam rollers and he now thinks its the best decision i ever did lol. i didnt even tell him i was going for 50's hair and he said "wow i love it, it's soo 50's". goal completed haha

@Fsindre If you look the work of Vargas or Elvgren, the two most famous pin up artists, very few girls had long hair. Long hair is a modern version of pin up, which is not really my taste. There are other girls on youtube who are teaching the long hairstyles though.

@SistaSledge101 It helps prolong a wet set...you can sometimes go for several days using the same set if you use a setting lotion. Lottabody is a dilutable lotion you buy at Sally's Beauty. Or you can buy Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion from your drugstore. It will be in the 'ethnic' section.

I don't pincurl too much because it is time consuming (have to wear them all day), so if there's other ways to keep my styles lasting longer with these products that would be so great! thanks!

@gauchochica06 Any wet set can be used with setting lotion. Wet sets are best for all day wear and can really be easier than any other style. Set hair at night, sleep on it...takes five minutes to comb it out the next day. :)

@Hellomiso There's an easy way to get the S with pincurls - it's alternation and best with 3 or more rows of pin curls. Imagine having a section of hair, pulling it away from your face, then twirling it back to the base to pin it. For all the curls NEXT to it, use the same direction - away from the face then back to base (dir A).

The row UNDER it, pull the hair toward your face, then twirl back to base and pin it and do the same for all NEXT to it (dir B)

Each row after alternate dir A & B!

i've been rolling my hair in sponge rollers a lot here recently!! i've been using just standard sponge rollers (various sizes), and instead of using any type of gel, or mouse, or setting lotion, i've just been using It's A Ten Miracle Leave In Conditioner. all i do is spray each section with it before i put the roller in.

the reason i started doing this, is because i frankly don't like using product!!

@ForeverOldiesO1 Lots of the old movie starlets had thick crazy hair. See Greer Garson or Ann Miller...they had thick curly hair! They tamed it with pin curling techniques or rollers. :)
