I have this bootleg in Chicago, I think is from Rush ^N ^Roullette... and there are other moment wen Alex plays a Classic guitar song, like country music,I think... and I never ear the song.... only on this bootleg in chicago.
all of us know that when the Police were exploding in Holland in '78. Rush had to compete with the sound. or try it at least. Digital Man (Signals) is a perfect example of Rush sticking it to the police. Neil probably didn't want to be outclassed by copeland. One-drop Reggae and Lebanese 4th beat accent. Neil is the beast.
Rush are know for exploring all types of music, and hence they have progressed and not got stuck in the 70's. They evolve as the take in new styles, that is what makes them the talent they are, they don't just stick to one format and style, they have done reggae phase, and some of thier tracks are similar to c&w, so don't knock thier ability to adapt. Jazz plays a great part in thier evolution, as does big band for Peart
true, I completely understand where your coming from, I really just miss the perminant waves - signals era, I thought it was their best, all the songs on all those albums were amazing, and hemispheres is my personal favorite on the complex song writing point
Great job posting this version of Working Man. I know that Rush liked Reggea but their fans looked at them as if they were from another planet. Me, personally, I like when Rush brings in other influences. Great posting. I actually like it.
