if it aint broke it dont need fixing , unless there was bad corosion or missing metal from the contacts i belive the old fuese would be fine , intresting video though
Very interesting! I've never ever seen fuses like these! I don't know if they have ever been used here in Germany. Every house does have a big box where the power comes in, but it is not allowed to open the box. So maybe in those boxes there's something like these fuses...
@DrCassette it could be, it says Service disconnect, so maybe that was how they used to cut your power if you didn't pay your bill^^ now they just take your meter and since all the power goes through that, you have no power :D
strange, can't say i have ever seen fuses out side, the houses around here were built in late '70s, the house i live in was built in 1977, we used to have Aluminum wiring and the old "T" type fuses, but the past 6 months, we had the house converted to Copper wire, and to a modern breaker panel, the wiring was the main concern for safety, as Aluminum wiring does have its faults, and breakers sure are convenient
in our house thats built in the early 70s (i think) we have round ceramic fuse plugs. and i think my grandmother have that live in a house built in the 50s have a simuler kind of fuse box.
I have never seen cartridge fuses before. We use a breaker system in Aust although some older homes still have ceramic plugs with fuse wire on them, hmm, yes, fuse wire ahhh!
@tubeie07 yeah the older houses here that haven't been upgraded have the old glass screw in fuses, our house has breakers inside and these cartridge fuses out there. Btw, do you guys use 3 phase power there? we use 2 phase. 120V each phase
This old tracktor productions... :D lol :D:D Your outside fuses looks different than our in Sweden. We don't have these round fuses at all. Same looking fuses are both inside and outside, but they are marked with different values.
insted of fuses you should get circuit breakers
