The platform shoes hurt my feet now - The double knit slacks want fit anymore - The long hair down on my shoulders barely covers the top of my head now - My Camaro is long gone - The 50 cents a gallon gas is now $3.50 - Oh 70's why did you leave me this way?
@hotstuffandicecream Well never fear! I wear the platforms, the double knit polyester suit with bellbottoms, and I still drive a 7 nova. The 70s NEVER left me I am bringing them back and shoving it into the face of this fucking system we have now! Dig THAT!!
Nostalgic? Yes! Why not? It was then a magic world of lights, music and friends without worries. I was a hell of a Latin Disco dancer at San Juan discos. Everyone had his/her shot at the dance floor. For that moment, you were the star. Your 15 minutes of fame. You had your own Idol show at the reach of your fingers or should I say feet. My trophies are hidden somewhere in the storage, however, those memories come back to me at my will.
there will never be a time like that again...the stars were aligned, joy and happiness prevailed with optimism. I recently saw a picture of Thelma Houston and she looks just as young as she did 30 years ago!
What has happened to those days / nites of global happiness that disco music brought to us all ? What has happened to all those happy carefree people we used to see dancing to the music in the streets ? Bring back disco music and bring back some form of happiness to us and to the younger ones now. Why should they miss out ?
What has happened to those days / nites of global happiness that disco music brought to us all ? What has happened to all those happy carefree people we used to see dancing to the music in the streets ? Bring back disco music and bring back some form of happiness to us.
this song reminds me of high school pretty much like no other - cheerleaders talking about older guys trying to give em coke, otherwise it was just weed and beer if you were lucky, otherwise you were home by curfew, dead sober :))
Love to listening this song in the radio and asked to my mom if I can go with my older sisters to disco and she said nooo way!!!! So when I have age for it I danced like crazy.Lol :)
yeah, it's a great little ditty, no doubt, but let's be honest, it is a flash in the pan number. it's a nice little rush build up in the beggining, that just gets stuck in a circle, and goes nowhere. want to move to it,but, no one grooves on a tune like this anymore, without looking goofy retro go-go girl/guy. our collective dance DNA, is, at this time, just too used, to big phat-slow hip-hop influenced beats.
To UARE2QT2BSTRS, I agree with you 100% If yolu ever find the way or means to go back to those years, send me the info and I'll go with you, The 70's were indeed fine years in Music.
No doubt a huge disco classic.....OMG the memories....with so much to look forward to...only to have many regrets...love to start over, with the days of Classic Disco, and forward.....when this came out, was going to the teenaged discos and danced my butt off....if I recall this is actually the 2nd most popular disco recording ( VH1;s top 100 )...
No kidding! 1976. Great year with great High School parties in my country. This song was in a LP, "New York City Discoteque 2". Best disco album ever!
WOW 1970's..... what a time to be in high school. Friday night football and dances in the gym. ( If I could still walk after getting beat to death on the field) The greatest music era ever. One minute we were dancing to Don't Leave Me This Way, next it would be Summer Breeze, then You Sexy Thing, then It's Ladies Night, then Boogie Nights, then Sharp Dressed Man............and we were all just loving life and having fun. LET'S GO BACK, ANYBODY WITH ME?
I'd love to go back and dance at my high school reunion to this song in front of all the meth-adddicted wife beating child abusing drunk fukks who told me I would be nothing-sucking face with my man. Laughing til the day I freaking die!!!
I survived, and will dance and laugh and love forever!!!!!!!!!!!!
@hotstuffandicecream Witcha all the way@!! Life was so easy then....whooo," baby my heart is full of love and desire for you" , wish I could sing like that still have to get the groove going when this song plays.
I'm with you,i remember it well, as long as we can leave the grey hair and wrinkles behind ! what time will the bus be along? it's such a shame the world isn't like it was then.
I had a brief career as a cocktail waitress in my twenties. The 'uniform' was a long brown slinky dress with a slit cut up to my hip. I felt very uncomfortable showing so much leg, but the tips were great. Every shift I used to ask the DJ to play this song. He always appeared to be annoyed but maybe he was just trying to look 'cool'. On my last day there, he obviously saw me come in and played it without my asking. I thought that was sweet. Thanks for posting this and bringing back the memory!
@akscorpion22 so am I and I use it all the time. Forbidden by who? politically correct pussies with white guilt? we actually only pretend white guilt exists after all don't we? Its bullshit. Say whatever you want.

I've said it once and I'll keep saying it... this song was way a held of it's time. And just like a bottle of very fine wine, it's keeps getting better and better and better.
