  • @JustAPrayer AMEN TO THAT!!!!!!

  • Seriously, Anika needs more singing roles, she's got a beautiful beautiful voice.

  • Comment removed

  • This looks like a beautiful movie. I should rent it sometime. : O) Also, one last comment. someone commented about another Disney Princess (Jasmine.) They read she's "Black and Asian." I read her "nationality" is suppose to be Arabian (Middle Eastern.) I wouldn't know what that means as far as "race" though. In America, they usually check either the "White" or "Other" box when filling out cencus forms... from what I've read anyway.

  • Seriously, it takes these people till 2010 to make a black princess? People talk about slavery is in the past, when we still have the kkk and this shit going on. I'm glad they made a black princess, but it's upsetting that they took that long. smh...

  • Second favorite princess only because Ariel will always have a special place in my heart, but I love the fact that she is so hard working, she doesn't take crap from anyone, and in the end, she's the one who does the saving.

  • @GaddafiIsAGreatMan did you REALLY feel the need to post that comment, was that comment SO FREAKIN IMPORTANT it had to be posted?

  • @GaddafiIsAGreatMan Fuck you

  • @GaddafiIsAGreatMan

    If only you were funny...

  • @GaddafiIsAGreatMan

people like u should be dragged out into the street and shot! (a.k.a Garfield)

  • i love how they make the disney characters look almost the same as the person who does the voice of that character!

  • @GaddafiIsAGreatMan HAHAHAHAHAHA!! You’re SOOO funny!!! >_<

Seriously thought stop being such an asshole

  • @GaddafiIsAGreatMan You need to sort out your attitude :||

  • my GOD she's beautiful...

  • Tiana is the most real and inspiring Disney princess for all races and ages. If this is the first black princess than Disney couldn't have done a better job with this introduction.

  • Gosh i got goosebumps when i heard that singing voice 5*

  • I like this film I do, but in a way I wish that they made a movie with a black girl her own, orginal movie insead of using the whole princess and the frog thing, there are plenty of stories that you can do with an African American woman, I just wish that they did an orginal story for a Black Princess. like all the others.

  • @Hattaru This was just as original as any other Princess movie. Do you mean you wish they had done a movie that wasn't a princess one?

  • @TheAdri2013 No No, I mean I hoped that they did a movie a black girl movie all on her own, insead of this.. you know.. I don't know how to explain it. LOL.

  • three words: Voice Like Silk!

  • I love this movie so much. It's right up there in my top 10 Disney movies. Maybe even in my top 5.

  • Wow, that brought tears to my eyes. Just beautiful. I love the whole message.

  • man she has got some lungs

  • i love princess TIANA! aww♥ cutie =) thats very funny =), I never tire of seeing

    my part favorite is ...

    Very funny.

    So, what now?

I reckon you want a kiss?

    ...

    Kissing would be nice, yes?

    One kiss?

    - Just one.

    ...Unless you beg for more♥

  • she looks juss like tiana. shes so pretty! :)

  • I love this song...."Almost There"... this movie made me reminisce on the good days of Disney movies, Lion King, Mermaid, ect...very well done! As a man, I have no shame in sayin this is by far one of my favorite Disney movies..next to The Lion King.

  • i love love love anika noni rose..she has a beautiful voice

  • i know this has been said before but she REALLY looks like Tiana. Maybe they incorporated some of her features into Tiana after they cast the film...

  • @nemesiscur Walt-Disney have done that from the beginning.

In almost every character from a classic feature cartoon you will see somelikeness

  • a perfect actress was chosen for this role. her voice is so smooth and sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She looks just like the princess.

  • @bridgetstar08 I was just gonna say that!

  • Disney had lots of different ethnic princesses. However most of them get together with a white guy.

  • too all the people who are commenting and saying that race doesn't matter...it does!! there have been numerous white princesses that disney has dished out and you don't have to express your joy over them because you don't need to. But we've been waiting almost 30 years for a beautiful african-american princess to be added to the mix and we're happy she's here.

  • I luv this movie :D !! I'm black, I'm so very glad that Disney pictures created a black princess for the very first time, Tiana is the very first black princess in a Disney film :D !!! Wow all these princesses, They all just keeping adding up lol :) !!!

  • I was toooo happy when disney decided to make a black princess!!!! it's about time, disney made a movie about everyother race, too excited.

  • @blacktreemedia I never said it shouldn't be celebrated. This film is very important in showcasing Disney's first black princess. I understand the significance. I am half-black, and it IS nice to have a princess who bares a resemblance to someone like me. Perhaps my previous comment was a bit too cavalier. All I meant was that color is not the only thing this movie is about. It's about love and dreams, too. That's all I meant. I'm sorry if I offended you, but I don't appreciate your sarcasm.

  • @21melpomene don't be sorry, nothing to apologize for. Nothing you said was wrong or offensive, but I just didn't want people who did feel like speaking on the significance of the film to feel like their view were not welcomed or understood. I agree, first it has to be a great film and it in no way focuses on her skin color in the film, the film isn't about her being black. At the same time I think that my journalist' questions are relevant. I enjoy the dialogue and your viewership.

  • @blacktreemedia No, I was being defensive, and I apologize for misunderstanding your tone. All views should be and are welcome. I'm glad we agree this is a great movie, and I appreciate your clearing up exactly what our posts are about. Thanks!

  • i love Anika's voice for Tiana!!! one of my fav classic Disney princesses!!!!!

    xD

  • wow, who else gets shivers whenever she goes soprano like that?!

  • great!

now why don't you make a hispanic princess and we'll all be even

  • Hey that lady was in a video I watched in Health Class!

  • i've watched this film 3 times, and i have'nt even thought about the fact that it's a black princess. I loved it anyway :D

  • ... I'm a little black boy and I always related to Ariel. Just saying. And she's a rich ginger..

  • @CryptonEncryption YOU ARE AWESOME! :D

  • Where ever you are, I love you girl.

  • Anika looks like Tiana

  • @livinlarge18 I know right. I wish they would have let her be the live Disney Princess but I guess they couldn't do that because of Anika's schedule and whatnot I think that they even studied her movements because Tiana has Anika's body language and movements also xd

  • There is no one to be seen in the Disney work since Aladdin.

    Is the black a hero?

    Love?Freedom?Equality?

The fellow degree character to abuse the word where teeth float has rotted.

Disney was taken over by something.

It is an enemy of mankind.

  • I think it's absolutely wonderful that they made a black disneyprincess! Finally, african american girls out there can have someone to relate to! I watched the movie at the movie theater in my town, and when it was finished, I saw this little girl, who looked just like Tiana as a kid, and she was dancing around in her little dress, singing one of the songs from the movie. I finally understood how important it is to have a role model, or someone you can relate to. Disney have done a great job.

  • I am IN LOVE because the message. comedy, detail, and beauty, And how the first black princess was so truthful in how not everthing is handed to you. I was inspired by Pocohontas because I'm a native american girl, but I always look at the message, and this one was beautiful :)

  • i thought princess jasmine was black but i looked her up and shes black/asian more asian though

  • @melimurph She's neither black nor Asian.

  • Her voices is just like tiana's voice in portuguese...

    and... they're similar.... sooo cool...

    I loved

  • I love how Anika looks just like Tiana! When I see Anika on interviews, I still see Tiana. Very beautiful woman =)

  • Anika is an amazing woman. A great voice and an amazing actress. I really want to do a disney voice myself so I can relate to her having wanted to work for disney. The Princess and the frog is one of the favorite disney movies. One thing I love is that Tiana is best friends with Charlotte. I personally think we need more African American princesses. That would be fantastic. One more thing. WHO VOTES FOR A SEQUEL?

  • I dont think they are in the same room togehter...the camera gets all weird when it looks on brooke and then its quiet when it looks at princess tiana. IDK. :P

  • Poor Princess...was a frog 95% of the movie. They sure know how to just show you the part when she wasn't a frog. LOL. Well, atleast they did not have another ethnicity play the voice...cause they do that in a lot of cartoons. I hope she was compensated Properly. You see how she would have played any part...so sad. Bless her heart.

  • that movie was , is GREAT!!! a must see and i thank Disney for this and especially having it located in new orleans! great Work what took you so long?!

  • when i saw aladdin as a child i tried to relate to princess jasmine kind of thinking she was black although getting older i started to accept that she was arabic in the movie. but her skin color looked the same complexion as mine, guess me being considered "light skinned" for a black girl. but i still see jasmine as black. plz try to understand since there were so many white princesses i wanted something to relate to.

  • i love how the illustration of the princess's eyes r big and how they r pretty brown! brown eyes rock.

  • actually, Brandy was the first black princess when she did cinderella

but yeah, i love tiana, awsome, strong headed sweet girl...

  • I love everything about this movie. They picked the perfect person for the Princess. There are Princesses and Queens in all colors.

  • Mucho mejor que en español...!!! pedazo voz...

  • And another thing. Tiana's English voice doesn't sound at all like a teenager, even for a 19-year old

  • To be fair, her Bulgarian voice actor doesn't sound like she's from New Orleans. :/

  • Bulgarian voices are mysterious. I think we owe this to the language itself. In the Bulgarian version of the TLM song "Part of your world" how many people can say they expected Ariel's voice to sound like this? Bulgarians always have perfect voices for the movies they dub. That makes it kind of a special dub, really.

  • @Serdikhan

lol I know they're good. My question was a silly counter to Tiana not sounding like a teen. Which isn't neccesarily true, as teens can have a wide variety of voices.

Now KIDS on the other hand....

  • oh then what does a teenagers voice sound like then?

  • Look at the Bulgarian version of "Almost there". There's a tennagy voice for ya. BTW The English voices of Ariel and Aurora don't sound like teenagers too. But their Bulgarian voices certainly do

  • @Serdikhan

They sound like teens to me. Again, during my time listening to the english language, which is my whole life, I have a heard a wide variety of sounds coming from people of all ages.

Whether or not the Bulgarian actors are better is debatable, anyways, and not one that I want to get into, as it is your preference, after all. Sounding like a teenager moreso than the US actors doesn't mean they fit the part perfectly. There's more to it than age.

  • I bet there's not a single teenage girl who sounds like Jodi Benson when she did the English voice of Ariel at the age of 28. People call Ariel's English voice teenagy? The Bulgarian voice makes it sound like it's 25-years old. People call Aurora's English voice teenagy. The Bulgarian voice makes it sound like it's 40-years old. Comparisons can really change the way you look at things. Ariel's and Aurora's English voices are not teenagy at all. They're all adult-like

  • @Serdikhan

Throw comparisions aside, you'd lose that bet. :/

The bulgarian voice actors to me sound no more younger than any of the US ones to me. This is proof that I you and I are hearing the same things different ways. Which is why I said I don't want to get into it; because they are opinions, and opinions are subjective.

  • The voice of the Bulgarian actress was altered so that it could fit Ariel. Noone in real life can sound like that, even the voice actress herself

  • @Serdikhan

So how did they make the US actors sound older, if they altered the voice to where you couldn't notice the original bulgarian acting?

  • The actress was 21 back then. But nevertheless it's the end result that counts. The Bulgarian voices sound like they belong to 16-year olds and the English voices sound liek they belong to young adult, if not mature adults

  • @Serdikhan

Right, and the end result to me like a near exact copy of Jodi Benson, which is a pretty neat feat for anyone to pull off.

I'm still not how seeing how they make the original voices sound older, nor how that would make it factually better.

  • Bulgarians never make exact copies, or any copies for that matter cuz the English voices are not perfect. The Bulgarian Ariel sounds nothing like the English Ariel, does she?

  • oh then your saying me as ateenager doesnt sound like one? cuz ive been told that i sound like them and can sing like them

  • Unlike Ariel, Aurora and Tiana, you are real. And if you're teenager you'll sound like one. If you're a teenaged Disney pricness whose English voice is being done by an actress who's not a teenager anymore, chances are the Disney princess won't sound like a teenager

  • hahahhahahaha ok got that

  • I like Tiana's Bulgarian voice better. And I also saw how her Bulgarian voice actress looks like

  • i agree..there is nothing wrong with all the disney songs.. they're all "feel good songs"

inspirational too..especially with almost there..talks about hard work and dreaming...where's the negative part in that??

  • it's great the resemblance of the characters that super jeje

  • Jasmine WAS a princess though. :|

  • @8tentacles I believe that the soundtrack is wonderful. Regardless of what you think about them, the lyrics were fun and catchy and really grabbed the audience. And MORE importantly, the messages were much more powerful than Ashman's "Kiss the Girl" or "A Whole New World". How can you compare cute, silly songs like that to songs about hard work and being true to yourself? Personally, the latter are the kind of songs I want my daughters listening to.

  • EXCUSE ME, i know youre entitled to your opinion, but "Kiss the Girl" and "A Whole New World" are NOT "cute, silly songs". There is nothing wrong about songs about hard work and staying true to yourself (if anything, Disney has always reinforced the latter message in all of its movies).

  • All I meant to say is that Ashman (RIP) could've done a way better job in writing songs for this movie because he never regarded characters as meant just for kids, but because he had an amazing understanding of character development, which Randy Newman definitely lacked for this one. Just Listen to "Friends on The Other Side" and "Ma Belle Evangeline", they're just parodies of "Poor unfortunate Souls" and "Kiss the girl" that (I insist) do not hold a candle next to Ashman's Lyrical abilities.

  • Never regarded characters as meant just for kids? Hm, thats a very good thing. Character development that catches kid´s attention but is deep/complex enough for an older viewer to appreciate too. And I do think the songs in The Princess and the Frog have that complexity too. How is Ma Belle Evangeline just for kids? Id like to know.

  • Basically, I'm just saying that the lyrics could be better, and not that I'm against the message of hard work. That's all.

  • That would be your opinion, my friend. Something like music is too subjective to be considered indisputably good or bad in the same way that you can be certain that 1 plus 1 is 2. You dig?

And I see no wrong in mentioning any dead person in any song. It just shows that she loves her father and keeps him in her mind even though he´s gone.

  • I think this movie are going to be the most of all, cause have the frist afroamerican princess. Its great Disney make a movie like that cause take the important is the black peole.

Sorry for my bad english. im from Spain

  • a majority of disney princess werent princesses till the end, when they marry a prince

  • she makes me proud to be an anika haha. she is beautiful and the moie is cool =)

  • If you marry a prince you are by definition a princess.

  • @diagram1234 She's not a princess until the end, but her goal was to get her restaurant. SHe got it and she was in charge of it. It was what she WANTED to do. A Disney princess can do whatever she wants. It's Disney, not real life.

  • that's why she's a "different" type of princess, in case you didn't get that.

  • Oww that last note at the end of the video messed with my labtops speakers. That chick has some voice if she can do that to speakers and make my ears ring

  • Wow I noticed that a lot of people are flipping out because of a different race princess. But no one has even mentioned Jasmine as well, who is Arab XD

I would like to see this movie, not because of the black princess, but because it has been a while since Disney has made a 2D animated film. Pixar has been taking all the glory for quite some time and I see this film as a breather from all the CG animation and 3D movies.

  • I think it's the fact that for once you have an african american princess who is the lead. That has never been the case. Black is beautiful is now being widely advocated in the mainstream.

  • @Sapphire1209

I recommend you watch it. It's brilliant and I really enjoyed it, infact, it's my favorite Disney Film ever now. :)

  • @Sapphire1209 Pocahontas was dark skinned and Kida, who everybody loves to forget was an actual princess who was a different race >/

  • You know for a second there I forgot who Kida was O_o. But how could I really forget her.

People just need to stop making such a big deal because a main character is black. I mean seriously...this is becoming just as bad as when Pokemon came out XD

  • I wonder if anyone has realized that not only Tiana is the first black princess, but also the first princess who has a career? That just makes Tiana even cooler. :)

  • her necklace kinda looks like Pocahontas's. :\

anyway, she's a nice change for a princess. race aside I mean. Ariel was a feminist's worst nightmare; Aurora had few lines; Cinderella seemed too good; Belle was.... ugh. I may sound like a hypocrite for liking Snow White though. at least she wasn't as dumb as Ariel though. But Eilonwy rocked! the non-princesses tend to be cooler I noticed. I mean like not born princesses or never being one. Mulan, Jane, Meg, the Blue Fairy (to me anyway), etc.

  • who cares where the prince is from? he has a fucking character! do you know how refreshing that is from so many 1-dimensional "prince" characters in disney? and tiana is gorgeous! <3'd this movie.

  • I'M SO JEALOUS OF HER VOICE!

  • I can't wait to see this movie. The fact that it's a "black" princess doesn't matter. Its interesting, but it's hardly new. They had Pocahontas, Mulan... neither of them white, and no one batted an eye. Now they have Tiana, and people have lost their minds. It's Disney, people... they're just making a good animated film, nothing more. If you want to sit there and FLIP OUT because the princess is black and Prince Naveen is half-black, have at it. But don't ruin the movie for the rest of us.

  • @mylovelydame21 Naveen is actually Middle Eastern but point well stated and received XD

  • @Karamel2233 nah ah.. aladdin is middle eastern, naveen is from maldonia :D

  • @TheHeyyyou nah ah I looked it up but I get what you are saying because they do say Prince Naveen of Maldonia on the movie but Maldonia is a fictional country. A representative of Disney animation stated that Naveen was Middle Eastern, so thats what I go by. Being that she was literally in the 'thinktank' as the movie was being created, I hold it to be true as far as his ethnicity goes. but yea I hear you : ) It is a little confusing

  • @mylovelydame21 Yes indeed I loved the movie and i am black.

  • @mylovelydame21 The fact that the main character is "black" IS a big deal, and Disney seemed to think so, too. Pocahontas was Native American & and Mulan was Chinese (neither "black"). I have many friends of different races (Native American & Chinese) and each about lost their minds when each movie was released back in the 90s' (lol).

  • @mylovelydame21 I guess culturally insensitive (or socially inept) people wouldn't understand why it's such a big deal that Tiana is "black". Folks of all races wanna see characters who they can associate themselves with (& children wanna see characters that they can emulate). Disney nets over $100k/yr doing makeovers in each of their parks for little girls who want to look like one of the Disney Princesses. Pre-Tiana,who did little "black" girls have? Snow White? lol

  • @KrisinIndy I'm not saying that the black little girls shouldn't have a princess of their own, since every other race has been represented. To me, when Pocahontas and Mulan came out, I wasn't excited that there were non-white princesses... I was excited that a new cool-looking Disney movie was in theaters. Isn't that enough?

By the way, don't be a dick. I wasn't being rude about Tiana being black. I'm saying to just enjoy the movie as it is... don't think of the racial barriers. Just enjoy.

  • @mylovelydame21 I'm not being a "dick" as you elloquently wrote, but the context in which you wrote explains my point about the possibility of you being culturally insensitive or socially inept. It's very "blonde" of you to say not to think of racial barriers. I'll tell you what (lol), raise 3 black girls and take them to Disney World and answer their question when they ask you why there are no black princesses. Now, do you wanna tell black people again how to enjoy a movie that depicts them? ha

  • @KrisinIndy i can agree with you because i have a little sister who for years wished she can be white because she thought princesses could only be white. i on the other hand im just glad to see the movie and think it's ridiculous that african americans are upset because she has to kiss a frog. they should just be happy that the black community is finally being represented in such away that will be greatly remembered.

  • @TheMzlady92 I know right, I didn't hear any white people cry when Belle kissed a beast

  • @HDibbles yea you do bring up a good point, and who's to say that if she hadn't been black that people still wouldn't have been mad because she wasn't black. We need to do like my grandmother always used to say count your blessings and just be happy that times are really changing.

  • @TheMzlady92 pocahontas was a native american and she was a princess of her tribe.

  • @finalhearts824 Sorry, but just because she was the chief's daughter does NOT make her a "princess". Ask anyone on the rez. Native Americans just don't have that Monarch mentality.

  • @coyotecrow4 My apologies, no need to bite my head off. :P What does "rez" mean, by the way. I have no desire to agrue with people over disney princesses, just wanted to know.

  • @finalhearts824 Sorry about that. I didn't mean to get all up tight. It's just that the idea of an "Indian Princess" has become a bit of a stereotype. "Rez" is short for reservation. Sorry if I came off as biting your head off. Native society was a democracy for the most part. The only time the chief had overriding authority was in times of war. Some tribes even had separate peace chiefs and war chiefs. They gained status through what they did, not who their parents were, as with a monarchy.

  • @coyotecrow4 Thank you for being understanding. And thanks for the little history lesson. :) You learn something new everyday.

  • @finalhearts824 No problem. :)

  • @TheMzlady92 I agree, because technically Prince Eric had to kiss a fish, Cinderella had to live in a horrible household, Pocahontas was a Native American who had racism towards her and things, etc.

In all honesty in order for it to be a Disney movie it can't just go smoothly, it has to have a twist in order to make it interesting.

So the fact that her family loves her, she has a "goal" in life (The restaurant), and she is all around happy, I think the frog is a good way of canceling it out.

  • @mylovelydame21 THANK YOU!

I really don't know why people mae such a big deal of it!

I mean talking about how this is not a big deal at all actually makes it...well...a deal, doesn't it?

  • @mylovelydame21 Good on ya! Prince Naveen is so hot anyway HAHA! <3

  • @MsWellBeing if you watch the movie w/ the commentary, the directors say that they chose the voice of Naveen based on the "swoon-meter" chosen by some of the ladies who work at the studio. :D

  • @mylovelydame21 AMEN. Seriously...who cares what color the princess is? It's about the message, the music, and DISNEY MOVIES yea!!!!

  • @21melpomene I know! Why focus on the skin color? It doesn't matter!

  • @21melpomene :)

  • what the hell does the fact that she's black have to do with the movie? :P

honestly you ppl, disney has all different culture and race princesses like mulan, pochahauntus, and now tiana. Isn't that enough. and naveen is like... part french part african american. IDC. HES SEXY:D why can't we just focus on the fact that this movie rocks, and nothing else.

  • WAIT WHAT?? this is the last 2d hand drawn disney movie made?? That can't be right..

  • @soymoon No, pretty much all Disney movies, except for the most recent ones, have all been hand-drawn. That's what makes this one more special. They decided to go back to the hand-drawn animation.

  • THe animation/performance was so stunning and real, i almost forgot Tiana is a cartoon character.

  • Who cares what race any of the characters are.

They should just talk about the movie.

It was amazing and I love it but there's waaay too much talk about race. Who cares if she was black, white, yellow, or eve purple.

It's Disney's last hand drawn film an they certainly ended with one of the best.

  • Princess Tiana is so cute! Look at the big brown eyes! I like how she was portrayed as a hard working person who does not wait on others to fulfill he dreams. She is definitely a character that I think we all can identify with.

  • Oh dear god. It's a kids movie. I don't even think race enters into it. Just enjoy the movie!

  • @oddrikku12 I disagree. None of Walt Disney's movies were kids movies. They all portray timeless spiritual messages. Messages that both children and adults can relate to. Biblical issues.

  • What a voice! Incredible!

  • Anika Noni Rose is the only bright light in this movie. I enjoyed watching/listening to her. I wish she was human, the whole time.

  • Thank you for these interviews, just finding this channel for the first time. Did comment and rate and sub'd!

  • prince naveen's race is SUPPOSED to be ambiguous so ppl wouldnt be so critical of their coupling like this! guess disney failed with that! the prince is fictious anyway!!

  • Naveen is the race of Awesome. Honestly, I can't believe anyone could dislike that guy.

  • I love how Tiana looks like Anika. I wonder if they did that on purpose.

  • you're right... i think they did do it on purpose

  • Really brainbmf I hope your jokeing

because your orginal argument is flawed so serverly. You say because of pochohantus and tiana that they lessen the views of those men to their race because women of that race didn't marry them. So we can use the same argument with Eric and the Prince Belle married right?

See because it's bad for white women because Eric married a fish and bad for animals because the Beast married a human woman right? So why don't you complain about those also?

  • the other princess were from europe.

    How could they be black?

  • Princess Jasmine is from Saudi Arabia

  • prince naveen is Brazilian which makes him latino

  • I thought this movie was excellently done! It reminded me of Beauty and the Beast, becuase both Tiana and Belle did their own thing instead of waiting for a prince to come rescue them from middle class woes. And they were both strong, solid females that didn't take crap! I was wondering how disney was going to pull this one off, but they did it beautifully, And I am going to see it a third time next week!

  • yeah, I was reminded of Belle too! It'll be my fourth time seeing it tonight xD

  • I don't understand why people are hung up on his race when Ne orleans is city with a mix of different race from different culture, and many marriage and produce children of mix races. That's what i think Naveen represents to me. You talk about a black prince, but kids who are bi-racial need a icon to look up to as well!

  • i l,l,l,love her singing voice

  • i cant wait too see this!

  • Another thing to point out about disney is that every single prince and princess was the same ethnicity except the natives(pocahantas with white man) and now black (tiana with a french man).Just to further show how this society views black men and indian men.

  • And the Little mermaid (Ariel with Hu-man), and Atlantis (Kida with white boy) and Beauty and The Beast (Belle with a Beast). And Joshua Sweet was awesome, thank you very much.

It's a sad sad day when your self-esteem and social status hinges on an animation company. Cause everyone in the world knows whenever we need an opinion about something, we turn to a Disney movie. *sarcasm*

  • And once again i used this as an example of a much bigger picture,so why dont you read what was said before you bring your un needed sacasm.

  • The problem is you connect this studio and it's properties with the rest of society. There are plenty ill-informed and downright ignorant views against people of different races all over, but to make the assumption that because there is no true black PRINCE, that Disney and anyone who watches it view black males as inferior, (despite the fact that Terrence Howard among many others work on this film) is really REALLY trying to grasp at something.

  • I never said anything about the people who watch it,im talking about disney who creates it.

  • No im not grasping at anything, its obviouse how they feel about black males it does not matter who worked on it.The only black kings disney ever had was a lion and a monkey in jungle book, never a human.Which further goes to show how they feel.

  • Disney doesn't make princes they make princesses. And they do it in all kinds of ways. This is not about black men, this is about little black girls finding themselves among what Disney holds at the highest esteem. And abput little white girls understanding that beauty comes in all shades.

Instead of you running around mad because you didn't get attention from Disney, you should be overjoyed that little black girls have validation that they are beautiful too. Stop being so damn selfish. PLZ

  • They make more than princeses and yes they do make princes because every disney flick with a princess has a prince and sometimes the prince is a main character like aladdin and john smith

  • Please Disney doesn't not make movies about males turning into princes. That's obvious. None of these movies are called prince movies and all the the songs and toys and themes are centered around the females their hardships and triumphs not the males.

In addition most of these stories already have the characters races as part of the story. Including Aladdin and Pocahatus. In this case Disney had to adapt it one from another blond haired blue eyes PRINCESS story. Be proud she's black.

  • It doesnt matter about if they turn males into princes, the princes are main characters in the film, its not all about the female.Aladdin was not about jasmin,it was about aladdin.Even this new the princess AND again AND the frog,so its about both prince and princess it always has been.

  • The princes are NOT main characters. Snow White's prince was NOT a main character. Aurora's was NOT a main character. Aladdin was NOT a prince, and he never became a prince.

And Tiana's not a princess either. It's a callback to the title The Frog Prince.

  • I dissagree about Auroras prince...he was kind of big in the movie
