//Maybe camera's could have a public domain option where the image is transmitted automaticly to the internet.... :D
with this surface you could be presented with a very unique creative source. Ya's remember the fridge word magnets??? slide everything around and just maybe dream up linear stories... tales... situation compositions or whatever.... CREATIVE SPACE!
This is actually a very interesting idea. I would make it a web application though where you can upload your photo and get pictures back based on the time and date in your exif data.
it would be good if that cam built up a 360 degree perspective using others photos on the net and compiled it together to make an imax type... af fuck it u know what i mean.
How many people take the exact same photo of the eiffel tower though? Sure the tower is in a lot of photos, but composition, people in the forground, weather, all serve to evoke a memory in ones mind. Why not just go to souvenier shops and buy all the profesional photos? This seems to miss the point of tourist photography. Art photography isn't interchangeable. This misses the entire point of photographing your experiences. They're YOURS, unreplaceable, individual and experienced based.
It's something wonderfully original and would be quite fun to play with if, say, every digital camera on Earth was on a gigantic network... You could get all kinds of photos on one of these.
It will be a art assignment. It seems to me to be along the lines of branching into a more global community. The idea is nothing new when you think about it... take flickr or even bebo for instance... they're about sharing moments and pictures.
it would be neat if you could narrow the search to only landscape webcams across the globe. if you're feeling down maybe the picture will be stormy. if you're happy, maybe it finds a sunny picture.
their is some merit to the idea that intentions can have a subtle effect on the world around us, but also, the world around us is effecting how we feel and what decide our intentions ought to be.
so 2 people focused on pushing a button intending to record their surroundings might then have a subtle connection.
it takes a few minutes or hours because someone needs to post a photo online with a time stamp matching when you pushed the button, and then the thing has to find it.
what a freaking waste of time, what the f was that? others pictures? if no one is taking any real pictures, we're gonna run out of real pictures soon people!!!
This is retarded. No, really. A "camera" that can't take pictures? How is it supposed to catch on? The more people that use these the fewer people there are using real camera which means there are less photos for it to select from. It is a self defeating device. If it took the picture you want and THEN found another photo taken at the same time to compare and contrast you might have something interesting. As it is the device can't become widespread.
Looks like the tv-tower at the Alexanderplatz, Berlin, Germany. This thing is stupid, it could be cool if you had this on a digicam, if you take a picture you see a picture taken at the same time.
It's good to try new things, but this should be slightly less random. For example, say on a phone you could call up a picture taken at the same moment just like it said, but then go on to either see more pictures from that person or to even communicate with somebody. I could see that happening whenever somebody gets bored.
But a random picture anywhere from a minute to an hour. I'm sorry but there's no creativity there.
I don't really see what the point of this concept is. You want to find a random image and try to force yourself to associate it with a moment of your own? But you have to wait up to an hour sometimes... so you might be completely out of the moment by the time you get a picture of somebody's cat o.0
All of you dipshits posting on here are such little brainwashed consumers that you can't see past something as a product that you should buy or not and accept this as a concept piece done for the sole purpose of exploring an idea and making you think about the world around you... sheesh. morons.
Piece of shit, I thought at least it was gonna be a picture from the same place, Like it would have a GPS device and look for a picture taken in the same place.
This is very stupid. Who cares if you get some random picture that happened to be taken at the same time you pushed the button? Here's a better idea..go to flickr and find random photos for free!
You know it's moronic guy. The chances of the timing to be precisely the time you had your "moment" is iffy at best, and even if it was, you could simple skip the middle man, and write down the exact time of your ridiculously self centered "moment" and hunt for the time stamps on flickr yourself! This is NOT transcendental or SUblime. It's a fine idea in concept but is actually quite stupid pragmatically. It's at best a false feel good idea (falsely)
I agree, it should share your pic and send it along, and then grab a pic off the net and show it to you. A good v1 concept though. Can't wait for v2 ;)
agreed... it would be kind of pointless if everyone had these, because then where would you obtain the media to share? it needs to take a picture and throw it on the network for others to see as well.
Right, all fun and games 'till someone takes a goatse-like photo in the same park you're at.
