  • i have this camera and i made videos, but they wont upload to youtube, hit me up if u know what the problem might be

  • Hm. They may be too big, what exactly is youtube doing? send me a private mesage with specifics.

  • this camera in is at target for $79 right now! I just got mine today! :)

  • On the Aiptek 720 HD it has QVGA 30f. If I set it to that resolution will it still be HD?

  • Great video, it helped me decide! (By the way, Cal State Long Beach is awesome.)

  • i have footage/videos i want to upload on my computer to edit, but its not really working. i installed PhotoImpression, but the icon for "Video" is not highlighted. tips? i really want to upload new videos.

    -Thanks,

    Vicky

  • Does the P-HD have an AV in like the A-HD has?

  • This is color corrected, right?

  • Is this the A-HD Pro? Cause I'm looking into getting one.

  • I just got this camcorder, but my videos don't come out quite this good. I have it set on HD mode.

  • What do you mean by 'don't come out quite as good'? do keep into consideration that for all cameras, they're best used with LOTS of light. The less light it has, the grainier and off-shifted it looks. This is because its pulling as much light information into a tiny CMOS sensor much smaller than our own eyes.

  • That's probably why! I had decent light, but it could have been a little better. I bought one today, the last one they had! I use it for making reviews and videos for youtube, which means I'll be using it indoors a lot. Thanks for the info dude!

  • No problem, if you're going to use it indoors, get a desk lamp with a 60 - 100 watt lamp. Here's a little trick. If you don't have a tripod but have a lamp with a shade on it, you can take out the shade and the screw on top screws onto ANY standard camcorder. Just some tips for shooting indoors =D.

  • How's the battery/charging? I hear complaints of a charging malfunction. Also, hows the night shot?

  • Yeah, there is a slight malfunction when it comes to the charging, the light tends to turn off but it still charges which people don't know. At least mine does.

  • awesome quality! I have an aiptek as well

  • how do you make the videos work with windows movie maker???

  • please refer to earlier comment pertaining this subject. You will need to purchase a different editing program (Magix Edit Pro is recommended)

  • ohh

well i tried this program called totalmedia extreme, it came with the camera.i uploaded a video with it but i dont know how to set it to hd on youtube. do i need that magix edit pro thing to do that?

  • Oh, if it came with the camera, there should be an export option for HD. Give Windows Media Video export a try if Totalmedia Extreme has that option its the .wmv format and it should have a preset for 720p HD. If not, Magix has it for sure.

  • also, is there a place to hook this camcorder to a tripod?

  • ....yes....

  • are you sure this camcorder supports a external mic? I read somewhere that it does not. I really hope this can record TV's like the A-HD ones. I'd like to make video games play-troughs in HD to post them on youtube.

  • I'm looking at it right now. The one I bought FROM target and it DOES have a mic input. I'm staring right at the port. I have tried it with a PC mic and it works.

  • i can't put the .mov files in windows movie maker so what editing program are you using?

  • Windows Movie Maker is the most awful program to use for editing because its not versatile, it doesnt accept files other than .wmv or .avi (windows based formats) .mov is a mac based format for quicktime, and as most of us know apple and PC have not been the most friendly of competitors. I suggest you use Magix Edit Pro, I use it for most of my work, its an amazingly powerful program for dirt cheap, you can pick up a copy anywhere from 19.99 to 49.99 its worth the investment, trust me.

  • i just got 170$ dollars for christmas and I went to target to get one, but they didn't have any left (damn it)!

  • Aw! Well that stinks! Well, in fact, last time I went to Target where I live, they were completely sold out too, they're on heck of a hot item.

  • do you think its better to use the DVD quality setting over the 720p because it shoots 60fps instead of 720's 30fps

  • I would say to use the 720p mode because you will be able to get a whole lot more detail in your shots over the standard resolution. Also the 60fps mode will severely darken your shots because the sensor will be 'on and off' twice as fast as the 720p mode, so less light will be absorbed which is not good unless you have a lighting system or are outside.

  • I've noticed two advantages to using the DVD mode.

    1. Space, you'll get more time out of your sd cards.

    3. hand held. its not as chopy

however whatever mode you decide to use its best to stick to for that project. you dont want to mix the formats for one piece.

My personal opinion tho is to buy a big sd card and stick to using a tripod!

  • Oh yes, with DVD mode the resolution is much smaller, even though the frame rate is twice as much as the HD mode.

Oh yes, tripod is VERY important, however I shot this thing on the fly on a completely random day so I had no preparation for it =P

  • i just got it for christmas! its awesome, replacing my mpvr

  • can you change the format to a 16:9 screen?

  • What exactly do you mean? the 720p mode only offers widescreen (16:9). All of it for the most part IS 16:9.

If you look at the footage it is indeed widescreen.

  • wait... oh duh! sorry, stupid moment. thanks for answering my question! lol! im so dumb :-p

  • No problem!

There is no such thing as a dumb question.

  • Im getting one for x-mas. I wasnt peaking.

  • I saw this at the Target website and it got really bad reviews (1 star out of 5). but, according to this vid it appears that this little camcorder was severely underrated! I think I'll get one! Thanks for posting this!

  • sorry to reply to my own comment, but can this camcorder connect to a TV so I can record my TV shows off of my VCR and DVD?

  • I have yet to try to see if it has that, I'll give it a shot one of these days.

  • I checked the Target website as well myself, the reason why the select few are so mad is that...

    a. they want a $2,000 camcorder for $120

    b. ignorant understanding of how the unit operates.

There is a fellow on the Target website that was complaining that his batter didn't charge all the way and he was having issues with his batter. He had to be PATIENT because it was a new battery and it had to be recharged for the first time.

    The camcorder is VASTLY underrated.

  • There is an odd glitch in my exporting, for some reason it plays through the entire song. Enjoy the music I suppose =P
