Like syn said, he's the theory guy. What a lot of guitarists put aside syn masters and with so much technique and theory comes a lot of language unique to that style. So only so many can understand. Luckily I can grab some of the stuff, but yes it is really complicated! :)

@hawkwing171, basically minor is knows as sadder and more "sinister" where as major is more of a happy sound but nothin really "special", like the other guy said nearly every a7x song is minor, but overall i think they just enjoy that more dark tone, i think why synyster gates said that line "obviously we write in minor" was cause u could see as he was displaying the patterns up and down the neck it was easier for him to show the minor where as when he played the major he kinna stumbled a bit
