It seems youtube have lowered the quality of this video, I will try and upload an upscaled 720p version as the 480p version is no longer available for some reason and the video and audio seems to suffer.
@TheWebMaster179 What you on about? The Dreamcast was great, it's considered the greatest most underrated console in history, it's so ahead of it's time, it can do HD and it pioneered online gameplay etc.
SEGA haven't failed so bad as a company, they are doing very well right now and in profit, their current aim the past few years has been to control at least 25% of the entire Videogame market.
I been looking for this for ages on here, I had this tape and watched it before i bought my dreamcast on launch. Anyone know what the music is at 2:32 ?
Beliveme dude, if the Dream cast had a DVD player, we probably would be fasing the Dream Cast 2, not the PS3, Sony is losing to much money because this project, maybe theres not going no te an PS4, bye bye Sony, Sega was the best, I still dream with the Dream cast, it was just to advanced for us back there in the 90s
I agree. Although, I would also like to add that backwards compatibility to SEGA Saturn games would have been an olive branch to disenchanted Saturn owners. But the major downfall was the easy way that games could be copied by the public so soon in it's lifespan. Why buy when you could get it for free or at a huge discount. Then, of course is the fact that SGEA likes to keep people hanging...Shenmue 3 anyone?
Maybe, but remember that sega saturn games wherent so easy to make, and besides, you could find any games in the market. Apart that sega saturn didnt had any great games. But anyways, sega was always very creative, they where pioneers in every thing we see in these times, Online gaming, Cds, Core 2 Processors. Sega was a monster back there in tha 90s, not even nintendo could kick sega out. Sony finally kicked its ass, its a shame, they really thinked in the gamers, and really cute games.
True, Saturn didn't have many great titles. I think SEGA should've stuck it out, though. They could've offered a "slimmed-down" version of the Dreamcast like SONY did with PS1 & PS2. And, they should've smoothed things over with EA Sports to get the popular sports titles (SEGA did make some awesome sports titles, though). I still maintain that customer support is key. Don't offer a fantastic series like Shenmue, then pull the plug. Phantasy Star for DC was good too. Oh Well...
That was imposible, the only advantege Sony had was the mother fucking dvd player, if the dream cast had that, the story would be diferent. By the time The PS2 came out, sega was the king, they had dosen o great titles already in the market, online gaming, ad many games cool games were coming out too, sony didnt had any games at all, but the PS1 succes made the Ps2 more legendary, and people thought that the Dream Cast wasnt worth it
Everybody knows sony screwed the DC, for me it was a better console, the only thing it had wrong was that they didnt used the dvd player, When the PS2 came out, the DC was forgoten from the minds of many people, and it was all bcause the DVD player, if you remember, by the time the PS2 came out it didnt had any cool games, DC came out with 15 games on its hand, PS2 was just more popular than the DC, but it was all bcause the PS1, and the shitty Saturn that taked all credibility to sega.
Ok, look, in fact, Sega Saturn was even better than PS 1, it was the fisrt console to use a double or paralel processors, Sega had made a good work, but it crashed down bcause nobody was able to program in those processors, Sega always had cool ideas for consoles, Sony had the advantage that it was easy to program in it, If more poeple could make games in saturn, the history would be diferent, They where th fisrt ones to promote many things in games, Sony was just lucky
thanks for the promo vid brought back memories i watched that damn thing over and over again!!! and i actually like the dreamcast 6 billion player ads wish i couldve seen the sonic adventure one with the girls racing down stairs
but that 6 billion players makes me laugh wonder where those players are? LOLZ. but i have a DC console so it was a wonderful game console any way but i voted for the playstation ^^
you all got to admit that this console was kick'n the ps1 ass.. before the ps2 and ps3 and what can i say it was the most amazing console that year but ps1 has the best games so the dreamcast didn't got that far.. and then came the xbox which microsoft release, that's maybe the answer to your question on how the dreamcast lasted ^^

Hmm, seems I have had a claim against this video from UNIPPM, I contested it but seems youtube have went in their favour.

How long did Dreamcast lasted?
TsUkiaKu 3 years ago
Well it was released in Europe and the US in 1999 but was more or less unsupported towards the end of 2001.
In Japan commercial games where still released right up to 2007.
