  • I adore the poem and your tone but maybe feel more emotion within what you're reading. There was more than stiffness (in a way) throughout the poem. There was merriment, terror, ect.

  • its starting to annoy me bells bells bells

  • @samdo123 i no right its fridgin annoying but still an awsome poem

  • The first part of this poem has the words merriment, delight, sprinkling heavens......why does everyone read it without an ounce of merriment in their voice?

  • Welcome to the madness that existed in this man's conciousness. Imagine hearing the bells, incessantly and never-ending, ringing in your brain until you were compelled, compelled, compelled to write about the bells, bells, bells, bells....

  • @SteveBeakWeiland

This poem was an exercise in word play. Has nothing to do with madness.

Try to write a poem which coveys the SOUND of the bells he describes and the stages of life the bells represent.(youth, marraige, calamity, death).

This is a very poor reading of this poem.

There are better versions on you tube.

  • ... He may have a bell problem...

  • The bells! I hearken them!

They call, and I must answer!

THEY WANT TO TAKE MY EYES!

But where I go, I do

Not need my eyes to see!

    THEY WANT ME!!! 0_o

  • Chaotic but that's what I love about this poem. Poe's interpretation of the bells we all encounter through our lifetime is just alarming as the bells themselves.

  • He rolls apean from the bells lolol
