  • I'M THE MAN !!! :D

  • fucking great!

  • I think It's Graham

  • Funny how this music got so much more power than most punkrock/metal/whatever and still, its so easy to listen to

  • What a shit hot band. Why was the crowd so sedate?

  • this line up is the best...

  • Nevermind! Just didn't look like him at first.

  • Where's Graham? Who's that bass player?

  • This video has excellent sound quality? Is this from a DVD?

  • I love this man. Wanna have his baby.

  • mu buennooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • This was great. No question. But Joe Jackson's abilities go much further nowadays. He truly is one of, if not thee, most prolific songwriter of the modern age.His work just keeps getting better and better as the years roll by. I saw him for the Rain tour in Redwood city. I was not disappointed. Keep goin Joe. You are The Man!

  • un homme un vrai !! hohoho !!

  • What an amazing performance of a brilliant song ! ... Joe is a truly great artist ... Wayne

  • Wow, what a sleepy crowd.

  • The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a sad joke. JJ is way better than that. He is his own Hall of Fame.

  • Something I noticed. Anthrax covered Got the Time and they also have a song called I'm The Man.

    Just sayin'.

  • @PohatuJr My friend asked if Anthrax covered it when I mentioned Got the Time was by Joe Jackson and not Anthrax, but yeah..man song names that are the same..btw badass bruce lee puppet don't you agree?(well I think it is Bruce Lee)

  • omg the afros!!!

  • the man threw it down at 2:38

  • aceman sent me

  • what did he say about it? was it on the podcast?

  • all i did i had a bit to much to drink..... its still arguable.... thanks

  • Is there a better bass man than Graham Maby???

  • @djtvc15

    Erm...John Entwistle???

  • @djtvc15 on par with Bruce Thomas, for sure!

  • 5 dislikes??? 5 people full of shit!!!

  • 32 years ago and I still blow my ears out with this song. Thanks Joe!

  • grandissimo

  • some seriously good rock n roll here

  • This is REALLY rock and roll!!!!!!!

  • jj just seems to be able to cut thru the bs to the essence

  • Did he really chuck that piano stool at the drummer? Awesome.

  • Saw JJ do this tune on some sappy pre-teen kids live music show on Saturday morning TV, back when this album came out of course. Despite the overall safe, boring and pre-teen pop-music nature of the other bands, JJ did their live thing of this tune and just burned down the house with the power. That's always stuck in my mind whenever I hear this tune. Stellar performance!!

  • Thank you DAD

    Tom Leykis

  • Sit still...I dare you....

  • boy could joe f'ning bring it or what

  • One of the greatest things i've ever seen!!! I have this on dvd, INCREDIBLE!!!!!

  • Look at the stiffs in the back of the crowd! You can't at least CLAP??? Show some respect, you pieces of SHIT!!!

You were witnessing history, but were too thick to realize.

    "Ehh that's a shame."

  • Fuckin talent !!

  • after all these years, yep, he's still the man

  • What ahole would dislkie this???!!!!

  • @ChoxPox NO SH*T!!!!! This is perfection!!!!

  • What ahole could dislike this???!!!!

  • i'm the man

  • Are you GETTING MY MESSAGE YET?!?!?!

  • This is a killer performance, and the lyrics in this one are classic. Go Joe...

  • yup, joe's the man

  • Ben Folds stole this sound. He stole it well.

  • @tommyrock69 Never heard of Ben Folds before- any good iyo?

  • Kevin Spacey could play him in a movie!

  • Great live performance. Gotta love Joe. Bought this album on vinyl when it came out and wore it out. The soundtrack of my youth.

  • God I love this tune, was 21 when this was released

  • @jetsrush01 _And_ a pick.

  • From Wiki: From the age of 16, he played in bars, and won a scholarship to study musical composition at London's Royal Academy of Music. 5 Grammy nominations. / his autobiography, A Cure For Gravity (1999)

  • Joe at his best!!! Joe IS the man.

  • "No you are"

  • What a badass. Love Joe.

  • 5 people are bitches.... Even normal women woudnt dislike this...

  • this song always makes me feel good, ever since the first time i heard it

  • What a great song. Well done live. Graham Maby is a beast in this. The lyrics are so strong and the bass line is even better. Joe Jackson is a god.

  • The Big Hit

  • @QShaque only man who can rhyme yo~yo's and hula hoops

  • @QShaque That's exactly why I came here. I must have watched that movie 30 times in my life.

  • ... and to think, and to know, that today we have aswipes like snow patrol. this is the charts. snow patrol. Joe, for thel ove of God, get into a time machine and come back and save music.

  • 3 piece suite !!! Crashed all over the place late 70's brilliant shows all over the UK.

  • i'm a heavy metalhead...but this song is fucking good...it has th punk rock sound...fucking love it...fcking love ya JOE!! :D

  • I grew up to this album,Joe is the fking man.......I miss them days

  • KUNG FU!

  • boammmmm!

  • Note to self: Never drum or Joe Jackson... he throws piano stools at you... 2:41

  • @SAHBfan A piano stool thrown at you is way better than the smelly kind of stool !!

  • Joe IS the man, of course, but big ups to bassman, Graham Maby. This song barely scratches the surface of JJ's musical brilliance.

  • Joe was so young...so pure...so idealisitic...this tune single-handedly changed my life.

  • 4 people are not the man.

  • @IsiMan85 5 people are not human race jajajajaja

  • Fantastic quality on this video! I saw him live in 1982. A great performer. Thanks!

  • UK produces sheer brilliance!

  • Bingo!

  • one of his best songs. when ever I hear this song I always think of the end of the greatest talk shows of all time: The Tom Leykis SHow

  • @jimromerulez Wow that's right...I almost forgot about Tom....

  • great stuff!

  • Now this is fucking music! The music of today in 99% shite. Where's the talent gone???

  • Fucking awesome!!!!!

  • I got the trash and you got the cash...

  • Great kick-ass band!!!!!!

  • @jayfirev Joe's music may be catchy pop but this is pretty bad ass and tough for him. This is a great song and what is wrong with catchy pop anyway? Joe Jackson sounds more like Graham Parker than Elvis Costello. Elvis Costello looked and sounded like a Buddy Holly impersonator.

  • @PaddyRamone Elvis Costello may have had that look, but I'd hardly say that he sounded like Buddy Holly. Costello has written some pretty intense and unique stuff over the years.

  • @PaddyRamone That's an insult to Buddy Holly. :-)

  • what the hell does bad ass tough music mean to this guys fans ? i was at another site where this was called bad ass ?? tough music ?? huh i used to think bad ass tough music as rip your head off shit not Elvis Costello want to bees ! schools must really suck these days ! Joe Jackson fans please get a dictionary and study it .catch pop is not tough or bad ass !

  • @jayfirev seriously? Is it because it's lacking guttural screams, downtuned guitars and mid-scooped distortion? Dude, I listen to everything, from Joe Jackson to Cave-In (yes, even the early Cave-In) to Napalm Death to Lamb of God to Elvis Costello. Just because something doesn't have a constant D chug doesn't mean it is not badass or heavy in it's own right.

  • @balderdashsir I couldn't agree with you more! This is classic rock riffing that is what 75% of any rock song is based on. A guitarist can play clean and still be bad ass....you are so correct, and I'm glad you brought up the point. Hell...I've heard violins sound bad ass!!!!

  • yes Joe ....you are the man....happy birthday!!!!

  • WOW!!

  • Gary SANFORD is the man - Remember the good old Johndoe days in South London...Great as ever Gary!!

  • Rip Bruce lee

  • Met Joe at a College Radio Convention in Washingtin, D.C. in 1981. He was as pissed as his music, LOL. Still, freaking genuis.

  • BLISTERING PERFORMANCE FROM THE ENTIRE BAND, this is rock and roll folks.

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, I miss these days--but with utter fondness, not regret.

  • GRAHAM MABY IS THE MAN

  • Lyrical master.

  • Two words: Graham Maby!

  • brings me back to my punk dayz!!!!! slam dance for sure!!!

  • My miss spent youth

  • HELL yes.

  • I don't know how i missed this one.Awesome is the only word i can think of.Big thanks!!!

  • his band is so awesome and so is he!

  • a very wholike performance

  • In the days when it sounded like he was competing with Elvis Costello and The Attractions.

  • This song is about Tom Leykis hahahahaha

  • lol @ the Bruce Lee prop

  • i like metal music but i grow up with joe his music good on me

  • @metalswan1; then you're probably familiar with Anthrax's version of JJ's "Got The Time".

  • Amazing live!

  • this tune is nothing short of brilliant. its exactly how I feel about trends also and done in a trendy style of music for the time. tell us about the stupid lemmings Joe. you are the man.

  • what a f**king tune!!!

  • jamed with him once ,,,,, the mans a fucken legend

  • err.wot.

  • Can't believe how good he is live!

  • this is great! I saw perform, for the thrid time, in Toronto last year - with his leg in a cast, so he wasn't hopping about like this - but he was still amazing!

  • Great energy...I remember seeing him in the early 80's

  • Yes Joe you spoke to "the masses and the media" "a new trend" Most bands now don't have a clue

  • AWESOME

  • amazing bass line....still brilliant(reminds me of daft punk but faster ) after all these years...great song/album/band....thanks for the share

  • i've loved this song since i was 15 years old. RIGHT ON!!!!!!

  • this is live total analog its real music not a computor chip anyware awsome

  • Slam daaaaaaaance!!!!

  • @Arkady63

    Wow, '79, were talkin' pogo....wooohooo.........

  • Joe is 'THE MAN'!!!

  • Crap, Joe Jackson was good. No one like him.

today we only have crappy comercial junk. What happen with people's soul?

  • After 30 years, how many crappy bands tried to cover this song? JJ at his best!!! I remember buying this album when it came out. One of the few best albums I ever purchased. Thanks for the memories.

  • JJ is the man!! Best performer in concert of anyone!! I've seen him in five different tours in different countries, and he is always amazing. Wish I'd seen him in 79.

  • The master at work!!!

  • truth and rock n roll

  • Joe Jackson--so classy. Lots of raw energy in this video. Thanks for posting.

  • Mighty young Joe-You Da Man! Great sound and vid from 30 years ago!

  • Should have been a top 40 hit but was just too cool!

  • Such a band! Such a man!

  • yeah awesome

  • Never heard it before until Tom Leykis played it on his last show and now I cant get it out of my head. Kick ass song.

  • Same here.

  • Same here I heard on Tom Leykis' last show on the radio, and thought thi song rocks as he said that the lyrics remind leykis of him great song wish to hear leyis back on the radio

  • Adam Carola did a Music Monday on it a few months prior to the end of 97.1. Its a great song and for those who miss some of the best radio in the nation it holds extra significance. I'm glad Leykis used it as a final farewell over almost any other song he could have picked.

  • yeah i totally agree with you iam glad leykis chose to song to say farewell man i miss 97.1 fm talk screw cbs bone head move by them 97.1 amp sucks they only repeat the same so called ''hits'' over and over again iam so sick of lady gaga

  • And, let's face it: there is nobody, nowhere, nohow who is anything like Joe Jackson. He is Cataclysmic.

  • Yikes!!!! Wonderful.

  • Awesome song from a brilliant performer, at the top of his game! Love this entire album, classic from beginning to end! But the title track stands out! Thanks for posting that!
