  • VW forever shit esp is a speed killer :(

  • Richtiiiiiig ;-)

  • tim drück 3 sek dtc , dann ist alles aus ! der mini gewinnt locker !

  • ASC+T nennt man sowas dann... Und mal ganz davon ab. Die Fahrhilfen sind alle noch an.

  • Das hat nichts mit ESP zu tun...

  • Plattform = Polo (Thats why there is no All-Wheel-Drive)

  • hey, man, I tried to watch some of your other videos on your channel and the vevo fuckers banned them :(

  • Scheiß unabschaltbares ESP -.- tot dem ESP!! xD

  • I love the person who translated it. Best translation ever. I speak German and English (D'oh) and I think the translation is just great.

  • @919664 Thanks ;)

  • why would they test one car with winters and one with summers! What a scam test.

  • i like the corrado vr6 front axle more. have driven both

  • ESP's are just more "Control" by those that THINK they know what's best for the lesser beings. One day you won't even be able to steer, stop or accelerate without "help" from above. gimme a breal. My old 1987 16V Scirocco was a PURE sports car. And with a few mods would probably dust both of these ESP riddled technowizards.

  • Standard 0-60 is approx 6.3 seconds on the JCW [Chili] version.

    BHP is 208, Torque is 280 Nm / 207 lb-ft

With a simple remap, you would get 250hp and 275 lbs-ft torque

100% responsive power at all times, all the nonsense about power not being available will be eradicated.

What a shame it is to see the Mini being talked down to like this.

  • I love this car, I would marry :D

  • Scirocco got amazing style...Beautiful car...

  • @nunoagonia24 yeah looks... no performance

  • The very low sidewall aspect ratio requires extremely stiff sidewalls on the tires and allow less lateral deflection. While this helps to improve feedback and steering precision (something less flexible bushing on suspension and steering can achieve as well btw), it also means the tire will deform very little. In other words, they abruptly change from grip-no grip, whereas a bigger ratio tire will gradually grip-slip a little-slip more noticeably-slip a lot-have no grip whatsoever.

  • Are you saying that a smaller thickness in the sidewall will provide less grip on a corner? Danke.

  • No, I am not talking about maximum grip the tire can provide, tbh I have no idea what (if any) effect a stiffer or shorter sidewall has on the coefficient of friction.

The point I tried to make was:

low+stiff sidewall = abrupt loss of grip

high+flexible sidewall= gradual loss of grip

Tbh, this subject goes beyond what fits in a comment box, googling "friction circle" and "slip angle" should be more explanatory.

  • Can someone kindly explain how the big rims affects the performance? I understand about weight addition but I don't quite understand about the grip and slip bit...

  • I've driven a Mazda RX-8 with huge rims and completely lowered suspension with massive springs and actually it felt like there was no suspension at all.

I can only that while the feedback was excellent - I could really feel everything the car was doing, this setup is quite dangerous on real road with bumps. For example I entered a corner, the grip was superb, but then I drove over a small bump which I didn't even see and the for a fraction of a second, the fron tires lost grip completely.

  • As a result, I ended up in the wrong lane. On a bumpy road, I could constantly feel the front tires losing grip even when I stuck to the speed limit.

  • thanks sspope ans suedschleife!
