  • can't find you on FB. Can you give me a link. I looked for gardenfork tv.

  • @naanaa1111 sorry, if you search for Gardenfork on Facebook without the TV part, we should show up, have to see if i can fix that one. thx, eric.

  • If you do this and use an outlet that is sunk in the wall inside, how would you handle that situation?

  • @naanaa1111 that one is a little harder, you'd have to be able to fish the new power line from the existing outlet up the inside of the wall to the hole where the motion sensor light will be installed. thx, eric.

  • yeah, like the dogs were definately doing their part for sure, by barking and running and slobbering and all. : D

  • I called an electrician and he wanted close to $250 to install a motion sensor light at my house. I found your video and it gave me the confidence to try it myself. I spent $52 for parts and installed the light per your instructions. All went well and the light works great. Thank you.

  • @986321234J One more thing, the light is under the eaves of my house and should never get wet. Nevertheless, I used a weatherproof junction box and calked it pretty well.

  • @986321234J glad we could help! i work in the trades, so the $ quoted is a fair price for an electrician. the weatherproof box is important, good that you did that. thx, eric.

  • Best line ever:

    "Wait isn't that a ladder?"

    HA! great video though.

  • @ashamaniq and its all unscripted, its kinda just how i am. thx, eric.

  • What a GREAT Wife!

  • very helpful thank you for the video

  • Thank you for this nice video! Lovely dogs :-)

  • hey nice video Eric! thanks!

  • Thanks I'm with Emmygata is the first video I've found showing how to wire the sensor light from scratch! I have a weekend project now :)

  • Eric, thanks for the great video. It's the first one I've found that shows how to wire a light from scratch. I found lots of instructions for installing one where a switched light was already installed, but those were of no help. Thanks again.

  • Eric, why outdoor light fixture has no wet-proof cover? Some months later there will appear corrosion (also in contacts) and it may burn garage due to overheating in poor contacts.

And as I know, the should be ground fault outlet in USA if you gonna to feed some devices in wet rooms or outdoors. In Europe I put this ground interrupter to fuse box and it looks like "pregnant circuit breaker", but in America ground interrupters are built-in to the outlets.

  • @Dmitrytln the electric box and light i installed are outdoor rated for my area. there is a rubber gasket between the electric box and the outdoor light mount. The circuit breaker for the garage is a GFCI breaker in the electric panel in my basement, so all the outlets and lights in the garage are GFCI protected. (GFCI = Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor ) thx, eric.

  • @erochow

This light has IP21 or IP22 insulation, but not higher. The same picture I see, when vandals break glass covers in streetlamps - there appears corrosion after couple of rainy days and when ignitor passing 2000...2500 Vollts through corrosed contacts in sodium-vapuor lamps, they begin to burn instead of lighting.

Americans can also put GFCI to the fuse box like europeans? I'd seen only built-in into NEMA sockets. In Europe we name them "Residual-current device" or simple "RCD".

  • Good god man, how many dogs do you own ?? at 3:19 I count at least five dogs>

  • @pavelow235 we have two, and their 3 siblings came over for the afternoon. its fun, but chaotic at times on the weekend. thx. eric.

  • @pavelow235 I fully agree with you. How many dogs can one person have in a light installation video...

  • You're going to make your weekend getaway so much like a home, you won't want to go back to NY... :P

  • @baddogonline actually, our home is the country home. i sometimes work in NYC.

  • @jenna1311 hi jenna, that's how we do it on GardenFork.TV . sorry you don't like our style. best, eric

  • Good job Eric! I learned something, my dad used to do this all the time at the old "family ranch" but he never taught me how to do this kind of thing. You made it easy and fun, thanks for teaching us new things all the time!;-)

  • @blukatzen thanks, remember to reference an electric book and check your local codes. eric.

  • Great job Eric!

  • I used to have one on the garage. It lit up every time an animal walked by .Having too many deer there was nights when it was on more than it was off.

  • Thanks for showing this, I plan on doing an outlet for one side of the house that does not one outside.

  • Oh and thanks for the awesome video. I shall use this wonderful information.

  • did you hit your head?

  • @thehughvincent its a schoolyard injury that, as i lose my hairline, becomes more apparent. thanks for watching, eric.
