  • i seen big chex to cash

  • God, that mostly white paint is BEAUTIFUL.

  • I love reining ♥

I also love pleasure, trail, english events, etc... SPREAD THE LOVE (:

  • western and english are almost the same i mean you ride wether is english or western!its just that it gets anoying whan people sat western is better or english is better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like i like western becuase thats what i like but that does not mean i hate english style i always love to watch english pleashere!!!!!! so stop fighting !!!!!!!!!!!

  • where do you get the clips at 0:49 from>???

  • When my daughter was displaying the flag prior to a bull riding event last year she was doing some reining moves and backed up. Problem was she still had her fake tail in and he stepped on it and there it lay in the dirt when he loped away! Funny sight that was!

  • I always think when they're backing up that they're going to step on their tails and trip or something ._.;

  • Great!! Where did you get those clips? :)

  • I agree with ballairis. Why all the hating? I ride both styles and find them both equally challenging. Plus, it's really not our decision to make on which one's better, it's our horses. I mean, come on, they're the ones doing all of the work anyways. You can never be a great barrel racer on horse that isn't willing to be great. You and your horse must have a common interest and equal determination. Let's not bring all this english verses western crap in here.

  • @Aqualuver56 I totally agree, riding is as close a partnership as marriage, and if you can't listen to your horse and hear what it's telling you...GET OFF! LOL! I, also, have ridden both English and Western, and have found that for me...I can ride either style, so long as I can use an English Dressage saddle! LOL! These 40 year old hips just don't enjoy being spread as far apart as a Western saddle makes them go! LOL!

  • Amazing video! (: Beautiful horses! Loved that one cremello horse....stunning.

I ride English...always have loved Western though, never got into Western since I was given an English saddle and everyone around me was doing English, so I kinda had to as well. Hopefully I'll get the chance to do Western (hopefully reining) one day!

  • does anyone know the name of the cremello horse in this video?

  • Great Vid! Looks like a lotta hard work involved here! And love the "It's my Life" soundtrack! One of my favourite songs!! Thanks for posting this! <3 it!

  • Thanks for posting this excellent reining video. I love the song too!

I posted a video response of our stallion Chief. This is one of the first times he was ever ridden - he is such a good boy!

Check out our YouTube channel for more videos of the Beautiful Homozygous Paint Stallion CHIEF (Sonnys Mister Trubar).

  • My horse is a reining horse she is 16 but is injured ;(

  • Comment removed

  • Nice job!! ;)

  • I luv reining but i dont have a horse to do it on :(....but i do both riding styles and there both REALLY fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Who is the horse/rider pair at 45 seconds?

  • 0:41 = awessssooommnmmmeeeeeeee

  • fabulous! love the clips and the song

  • Nice Video though =]

  • Some really talented riders in there. My pet peeve is when people get in the way of their horse like the gal at 3:30. She leans over the horse's shoulder putting all her weight over that front leg, even though she expects the horse to roll back into its tracks. You can see the horse tried but she was in the way. She should stay square in the saddle and push her horse through with her seat & legs. Plus she's dragging the reins across the horses neck instead of making sure he tips his nose.

  • @barehorsetraining thank God for your online critique. Hopefully the rider can see this and realize how AMAZING you are. Stacy Westfall ain't got nothin' on you. (((rolling eyes)))))

  • omg im in love with the horse at :35 <3

  • Nicely done! What a fun video, thanks for posting! :) I've ridden mostly English (since 74) but this past year the Reining bug has bitten me and I can't get enough of it. lol Kudos for the lovely vid, I really enjoyed it :)

  • cremello the first one he was beautiful

  • Just got THE BEST reining Arab ever.MD Tazmanian Twist.I'm takin' him to Scottsdale next year!

  • id LOVE to have a reining horse !

  • who is the Cremello at 0:15

  • AWESOME!!

  • I have ridden both but I prefer western more than dressage saddles, western is more fun to not so much pressure to be perfect

  • Yall reining has just been recognized by one the the most prestigious equestrian federations in the world: FEI. At the FEI world games in October of this year this will be an event ALONG SIDE of dressage. The games will be held in Kentucky at the Kentucky Horse Park.

  • DRESSAGE and REINING are equalling awesome :) I love them both :) My western riding, quarterhorse training, reining champion instructor taught me to ride. English. Jumping included. They're the same guys! :D

  • Yeah its my life too! I'll train and live for this only moment i can ride in the arena and ride a wonderful reining with my beauitful qh mare! :)

  • english rider my whole life can't wait to start my western riding

  • So just jumped in here... And from what I get some English freak is dissing on QH's and reining? Excuse you, but let's see YOU ride your horse on that loose of a rein and stop that hard that fast. English is all good, but please realize that English riders DO suck at some things (same as western riders). I LOVE reining:D

  • I absolutly love this vid. love the song and the clips are really great! 100/10 ^^

But where did you get the clips? I've looked everywhere and I can't find any western riding clips.

  • Yep, It's my life too!!

  • can somebody tell me PLEASE which horse that is from 0:22 - 0:30 ???

  • its Custom Mahogany ;-) ridden by brent wright

  • i wouldent ride any other breed my quarter gelding can do cross country dressage then pull out a pole bending win. watch what you say.

  • @footballa122, come to my house.....or go on a trail ride with me you will see how athletic my 84 year old QH is... jeez.

  • YEP!!! your so right QH's are lazy thats why they do every discipline in the riding world and give their whole heart for everything you ask of them. I've never ridden a QH that didn't have potential or heart. They are where a lot of breeds today came from and they are history. Come out to the west and ask one farmer/cowboy/cowgirl if a QH is lazy and they will tell you they work harder than most humans.

And if their not smooth enough for ya sorry they're meant to work not be a lazy-boy!

  • wow!! i love qhs they are brilliant, i wrk with race horses, but wud love to learn western, the thrill and beauty of these horses just gives u a buzz from watching them!!

  • Uh not at all. apperantly you rode a very untrained bad confromation one. They are beautiful, smooth, and not lazy. your was just untrained. or not trained properly.

  • how are these quarter horses lazy?

besides It's part of their breed to be one of the calmer horses.

  • they are not ugly!

  • Uh,

    You're stupid.

They're really smooth. Idk what mule you've been riding, but qh's are the best in the west.

  • ummm, obviously you need to learn more about horses. how are qhs lazy when they are involved in EVERYTHING. from eventing to reining to racing, these horses can do it all. Think before you speak next time. if you dont like them, your loss. but keep it to yourself. nobody else cares.

  • you are probably the ugliest person in the WORLD

  • @footballa122 Are you on some kind of crack or are you just a dumbass who doesn't know anything?

  • the controll is beautifull.. I love riding!!

  • i love this video!

  • that jumpin horse in the very begining waz about sorry!

  • god its people like u who fuck up the name of horse back riding they just think we argue and are dicks

  • haha and crazy

  • I only rode a push-button horse when I was learning to ide at six months old, I have pictures of my little fuzzy pony and my cute little self ^.^

However now I'm runnin' and ropin' and cuttin' them cows out on my horse who would never love to do anything more. He's amazing and I love to ride him. He's fast and strong, he gets right on a cow and never lets go until I tell him to pull up. We are a team and I understand him, that's why he's mine.

  • @Weaponsmaster8595

same with me am the only onehowunderstands my horsei dont rope but i jump but know one know her like i do she is my little super star she loves jumping one time i took my hands of the reins and she did she hole course she is better than awsome but she is my love my best friend she is ever thing to me

  • englishrox- No REAL use for western riding? Are you serious? Most cattle ranchers today still use horses as their main way to doctor and brand cattle. This would be extremely difficult in an english saddle considering that there isn't a horn to dally a rope on. So, without western riding, we wouldn't be able to get our nice burgers and steaks like we do today. And just for the record, there is NO text ^^ of me dissing english riding. Think before you write next time, okay?

  • People, what's with the hatin'? Listen, western and english are about equal. I've studied riding for a long time now, and I've realized that most of the differences are just superficial. I really don't get why horse people can't get along.

  • THANKYOU

  • @bellairis29 yeah english people think they rode better than people that ride western though just because there horses have better bloodlines and they yank there heads up to be perfect and the people haev better posture

  • @horsesaremylife31899 But that's not even true! 'Western' horses have good bloodlines, and our horses carry themselves nice and we have good posture too!

  • @bellairis29 i love both i am teaching my horse reining and it really fun!

  • @bellairis29 Actually, the differences come from the roots of the styles. Dressage is based on Roman horseback warfare....Reigning is based on herding cattle (sometimes cross-country) It also involves cutting an individual cow - generic term - from the herd for vaccination, branding, because it's next Winter's meal, or any number of other reasons you might need to separate a single head from the herd. In the end...you're right, the differences are superficial. It's all in the style and tradition

  • I agree english. Western really doesn't have a point. It is just easier and sloppier riding. English is harder and more elegant. No offence!

  • So have you ever barrel raced? Reined? Roped?

    All hard.

English is hard too. I'm impressed with the people who can go out and jump those huge jumps and what not, but western takes just as much skill and is elegant in a different way.

We're all horse people and I don't see why people have to dis the other dicipline.

  • uhh if you knew anything about western then you would know that its NOT very easy, and its not sloppy. infact, most people think its pretty fancy, and western has been around way longer then english, its the true way of riding.

  • do you eat cows? Yea to brand, doctor and herd large amounts of cattle you need a cutting horse. Its more elegant? Sure but western a hell of alot more fun.

  • I bet you'd land right on your ass trying to ride a spin or sliding stop. No offense. The same way I eat it when I try to go over jumps. It's all hard.

  • Get your head out of your ass, western riding is for long trail rides and herding cattle. No one with half a brain would try roping a 200LB+ calf in an english saddle...unless they like eatting sand.

  • WESTERN YAY!!

  • ..a break in btwn competitions. and like MedoraCowgirl stated, every single equestrian sport created by man has its flaws. and im sorry if i offended any of you Western riders w/ some of the stuff i said, but i have a bit of a hot-head and it doesnt exactly sit w/ me very well if you insult my riding style like that. once again, meant no disrespect and sorry if i offended yall.

  • ok, just for the record, in my first comment i meant no disrespect to Western riders. i was merely commenting on their lack of headgear (which is a personal pet peeve). yes, people who ride Western do use some elements of English disciplines, so it would be very unfair and ignorant to say that English is a worthless sport. English riders DO care for their horses very, very much and we do give them time off as well. no respectable horseman would expect their horse to compete in a Grand Prix w/o..

  • western riders scare me. there is no way in hell that i would ever do all of that stuff w/o a helmet.

  • shut up. im a western rider and i just happen to do exactlywhat they are doing its called reining. and iv fallen off many times. are u english? if so no offense, but english is for sissies that are scared to REALLY ride.and its al about compatition. theres no real use for english riding. u cant do anything useful with it.

  • dude, wtf?? i didnt mean any disrespect towards western riders. i was just commenting on thier lack of protective headgear. but hey, its their brains. and as for that comment on English riders being sissys, go watch Rolex Kentucky and tell me thats for sissys. and you use dressage every single time you ride, which is also an English discipline. and what do you hear about in horse mags?? about everyday type ranch horses? hell no!! you hear about ppl and their obnoxiously large and gaudy belt...

  • ..buckles. you hear about the top winners in EVERY SINGLE DISCIPLINE. cavalry horses were trained in English disciplines. so get your facts straight before you call a discipline a "worthless" sport.

  • wtf are u talkn about i most cirtainly do not use dressage every time i ride. and u need to get ur facts strait. i do read mags about WESTERN horses that are on ranches. and they work their tail off. but the differance in western riders and english riders is that compatition western rider give their horses a break and some love. most english compatition riders just care about winning. andthey push their horses 24/7. and dont give them praise. that mean

  • uh..have you ever done a side-pass (or a leg-yield)?? that would be dressage. have you ever collected your horses steps? dressage again. have you ever cantered or trotted your horse over ground poles? basis for jumping (English discipline, mind you). and yes, English riders DO give their horses time off and love. DUH! you cant tell me that all western riders are concerned about is their horses welfare. bullshit. they want to win to win too. i would rather be an English horse than a western horse

  • actually, yes i have side-passed and leg yielded before and i'm westernn. collected my horse's steps?? damn straight. and i'd rather be a western horse than an english one any day. they're just overall better. btw you rock webweb321!!! ;)

  • "uh..have you ever done a side-pass (or a leg-yield)?? that would be dressage. have you ever collected your horses steps? dressage again. have you ever cantered or trotted your horse over ground poles?"

Yup, and all in a western saddle riding a western pleasure-bred horse. Go figure.

  • (contd) who has to deal with their riders arms and legs falpping around like a beheaded chickens', yanking at a sharp bit in my mouth while expecting me to chase after cows or go around barrells. so dont say shit about my sport, and i wont say shit about yours (which i never did in the first place).

  • im not wasting my time talking to someone who obviously knows nothing about riding so buh bye

  • excuse me?? i know my stuff, so fuck off.

  • u obviously dont. and i dont appreciate your cussing lets not act like children. shall we? thanks

  • yeah, i actually do. you cant tell me what i do or do not know. like i said earlier, dont insult my riding style, and i shall reciprocate that to yours.

  • CHILL OUT! How are we supposed to open a gate without a sidepass, or keep our ride smooth for 8 hours without our horse being collected. Western is better but hats off to the jumpers, they got guts... and the whole thing about english riders giving horses a breal, thats bull, so whatever, each discipline has its pros and cons, but we are all horse people... so lets just chill and agree on one thing, HORSES ROCK!

  • Ok.. I ride both styles.. and have you ever reined or cut cows? It all takes skill, and why the negative attitude? America was built on the backs of stock horses in Western saddles. So don't diss.

  • Comment removed

  • Alot of people still use western for cows or trail riding. What do english people do with their horses? Its not like most people in the US actually 'hunt' with their hunters.

  • Comment removed

  • English sadddles aren't designed for days long trail rides like western saddles are. I'm not talking about the 1hr trail ride through the woods, I'm talking about weeks in the mountains or months on end following several thousand head of cattle.

  • Comment removed

  • I highly doubt that unless you actually tried.

When I went to CO, I went on a two hour ride through the mountains and I know there would have been no way to do that unless I was in a comfortable western saddle. You'd have to have the seat of a X-country rider to be able to do that ride for 8hrs a day, for several weeks like a rancher would...and I doubt you have that sort of skills.

  • Comment removed

  • Because long trail rides are fun.

  • Sigh. I'm mostly into arena work and I think progressing every time I ride is fun. I'll go on a trail ride once in a while, but I do prefer dressage.

  • Arena work. Psha. You really won't progress when your on a push button horse and in an arena, you need to get your horse out into the open, and see how it reacts to different things, and not just in an arena. Jeez.

  • I don't friggen ride a push button horse. I pretty much ride in an open area. No fence. Things driving by. Plastic bags spooking my horse. Trucks full of hay that cause my horse not to focus on me.

I ride any thing BUT a push button horse. My riding instuctor rides her on the road and through trails. I have NEVER ridden a friggen push button horse in my life. I NEVER want to ride one because well I wouldn't be doing any work now would I?

  • I also have never ridden in a "real" arena. Take a look at my video "Part On My Lesson On Tazz." You'll see that see is not a push button horse. She never does anything without you contantly working at it.

  • But she doesn't appear difficult either.

Try taking her out on the trail for two hours and you'll see a major difference in what 'focus', or lack of is.

I'm hoping to take out my trainer's new aqha mare sometime in the park. It'll be fun, she's dead broke and won't be an idiot, which is a nice change.

  • You should see her when my instructor rides her. And we really can't take her out on a trail ride because she has joint problems. She can't go up hills and down them easily.

She can be a crap head when she wants to be. I you don't do something she'll tell you in a crappy way. Exp: Bucking, not responding, cow kicking, rearing. She does rear sometimes.

  • If she's that bad, maybe you should be riding on a less dangerous horse.

  • She's not that dangerous with me riding her although I'm sure if she wanted to she'd buck me off. She only does those things with more expirenced riders. Taz is a great teacher.

  • Hmmm...that doesn't sound normal.

  • You don't even know her. So how can you judge her by just ONE video?!?! You've never seen her on her bad days!!!

  • No I haven't, but unless your horse has a nuerological problem, I don't think a horse like her is going to rear with a professional rider on her. It doesn't seem likely.

  • Alot of western riders, like myself, ride with helmets.

  • AlliWalker is right, I horse would be more likely to buck off a less experienced rider vs a more experienced rider. An experienced rider knows more what they are doing, they probably can interpert the horses' actions better so they are a whole lot less likely to do something that will get them bucked off.

  • not re-mixed

  • great video <3....i ride cutters and reiners

  • I must say...Some of those riders weren't as good as they could be, but I also have to say there were others that were really good! Sadly I'm still learning, focusing more on Pole Bending and Cutting than Reining. but it's an overall great video, and I love that song xD

  • awesome i luv this sooooooooo much horsies and bon jovi great mix^o~

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! <3 erm...if yew dot mind meh askin..how old r yew? :I im 14^^ anyway O.e byeeee BRILLIANT VIDEO!! (dont tell but it made meh cry!! :O

  • omg great job on this video i love reining the white horse had nice stops and was really pretty lol

  • It's a paint, not white. It has brown which is partially hidden by the saddle/ saddle blanket

  • you have these clips from paarden TV I have these clips in my videos, too

  • You ride reiners?So do I.

  • wow where do you get the clips :O

  • The girl with the braid rides so well, very smooth. The lady with black horse and short hair needs to lift her horses nose up enough to let him run smoothly. Imagine yourself trying to run while only looking down at the ground.

  • it's my life too!!

  • Cute video! I love this song. Bon Jovi is amazing, and reining's pretty fun too! haha!
