  • That bit in the beginning always gets me by surprise.

  • When David sees Keith is when I lose it everytime!

  • Still makes me sob my fucking heart out.

  • Reading all your comments is comforting 'cause i know that the way SFU makes me feel, how much this amazing end made me cry so hard it's the same for other people.

Life goes exactly like that, that's why i loved so much every fuc*ing second of this show.

  • @birraveritas Amen to that !!!!!!!!!!!!! infact amen to everyone's comments, fantastic series, if u didnt shed a tear at the closing episode, you have a tin heart

    :'-(

  • straight cried.

  • This wasn't a conclusion - it was a masterpiece

  • The only show to make me cry twice (Nate's Funeral) and this Episode.

  • crying right now

  • Best series finale ever.. I remember watching this and crying like these were my friends and family I was watching die.

  • 6:48 for some reason I just love watching Brenda sit there at the wedding, she looks so contempt and at peace, and her position matches the music :)

  • best series ever made on TV

  • I dont know how many times i have seen it now, but couldnt keep it dry again. So beautiful scene, never have seen a series with a better ending.

  • I cry everytime I watch this episode. What a fantastic series. Best finale ever! (Sorry, M*A*S*H)

  • I remember watching this when it aired, ( my favorite show at the time ) and I was just blown away by how they ended the series. Best finale, ever! : )

  • I really Hope, I do not believe, BUT I really hope this is what the afterlife is like... you see you first love... your children.... eh, I do NOT believe in ghosts but, this would be...comforting... I HOPE it is true...

  • How can anyone dislike this video? It's so beautiful.

  • Best series ending ever for a great show... I am a man, but I am not ashamed to admit that I start blubbering like, BIG womanish tears, pretty much 10 seconds in....

Loved the characters loved the show... cried like... well... I think we went over that...(did I talk about the snot running down my face like a huge drippy, mess? Yeah... that would be me....)

  • i just finished this show and this is the best ending show ever david and keith are so sweet amazing

  • I really miss this show. It was so brilliantly written, directed and acted. It is so funny that life is really like the way the clip plays. People are here for such a brief time, they enter and leave our lives at any moment and often without notice. I think of all those who were in my life, but are no longer. I think of certain people often and other never enter my mind.

  • I just finished this show... I cried so hard, this show was such a big part of me in the last 2 months and I'm so sad to see it end... I'm glad I'm only 16, everything I learned about life and death will stick with me forever now. (would have been better if Claire still had her lime green hearse, though)

  • I am a blubbering mess after this. And I start crying as soon Nate wakes her up. I loved this ending. A worthy end to an absolutely brilliant show.

  • Live your life to the fullest.

  • In the DVD commentary it says, that Brenda died because Billy was still talking about his failed relationship with claire and bores brenda to death LOLOL

  • bad ass song..gives me chill bumps!!

  • wow i was really touched by this whole tv show and really satisfied with the ending ..

    untill i saw brendas death.

    that shit was so cheesy

  • Best ending of a show ever.

  • its was so sad !!!!!

  • yes its true ,i think it is the best ending for a series like this, i just completed all seasons and i don't think there can be any other drama series that can beat this one it was just awesome,i just cant explain it words but it was jut perfect ,keep it up alan ball

  • The most emotional parts for me are when Nate dissappears from the mirror and when Dexter, I mean David, sees a young Keith again and dies.

  • @Santana105 that's the same for me

  • best tv series ever, i can watch it a billion times. btw i think charles is benjamin button he's still young (8:51)

  • This is so beautiful. Best ending ever for a series.

  • Pure sobbing.... EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.

  • I haven't seen this since the show ended in 2005; I'm watching it now and sobbing, one of the most emotionally stirring finales ever. I know we all have to go but I'm not ready...

  • Most people I know were born in the last century and will die in this one. :(

  • masterpiece show

  • Haunting

  • we are all gonna die

  • Cried (and had difficulty breathing) through this scene the first time on cable, and just again now. Thank you for posting this amazing finale to one of television's finest series.

  • I love the song Breathe Me. Its amazing and soothing.

  • for some reason my favorite moment is when she is passing the semi truck on the highway. the combo of the music and the scene does something to me

  • whats the music at the end of this?

  • @NorthernFella Sia "Breathe Me"

  • @xchristyannx thanks! Have it now thanks tp itunes!

  • Sarah McLaughlin and all her puppies cant bring as much tears as this finale.

  • I can say very confidently that even though I am a very manly guy (if I can say so myself!) that very rarely shows emotion, I cried heavily when the finale was aired in 2005, and continued crying for about 2 hours after.

  • @AAAAAGGHHH Thee Greatest Ending to a Series...Period!

  • I absolutely LOVE this show. This was the BEST ending of a series Ive seen. I met Michael C Hall once. very nice. What a great show

  • Easily the best series finale I've ever seen. I've never been so satisfied with any finale ever. Something about that last 10 minutes steps up the entire series for me. Really what made it my favorite show. Never have I been so satisfied from a series finale - everything about it - the song, the montage as Clare drives away, the sense of closer as you actually see each character die (which is too perfect given the opening of every episode). All I can really say is flawless....flawless finale.

  • Who could dislike this video?! I've never watched the show but was reccomended it, so I watched the ending first. I think its beautiful and sad and its one of the few shows I wished I didn't spoil the ending for because of such wonderful closure.

  • Just saw the finale, and in same moment i miss the show.

Hope Willa Fisher Chenowith will live forever.

  • This is and will remain the best TV series ever!!! It is the only show where I really felt invested in the characters lives and could relate to on so many levels. Alan Ball you rock!!!!!

  • I still can't watch this without getting teary eyed.

  • Live your life.

  • @erzan Go kill yourself.

  • I cried a lot when I saw the finale episode, this morning. the best series finale ever!

  • I'm writing this with blurred vision from the tears...i feel like i just died with them! Thumps up for everyone who shares my opinion that this is the best series ever up to now !

  • ... that's so strong. Simple and very strong scene. The music, the actings, the scenes, everything perfect. Its impossible dont cry.

  • FUCKING ONIONS

  • this is my 30th times that i watch it,can'tstop crying

  • The scene where Keith is shot always breaks my heart. I think about how he was always David's rock; when you see David alone at Claire's wedding it's just the saddest thing.

  • and the music is great too

  • This was by far the most amazing ending to a series...ever. I just watched it again (11/23/11) and again I wept. Alan Ball is a genius!

  • When I saw David see keith before he dies, I cried the most manliest tears that i will ever shed....

  • A completely depressing series with largely unlikeable characters -- yet they are fascinating and I can't help but root for them.

  • What makes this such a good ending is the final shot. Claire in the car, riding off into the distance, perhaps lost, and open ended to the aspect that the characters might not even die the way it was written. Speculative writing by Alan ball and open ended analysis for eternity! Just the best ever!!! WOOOOOO!

  • I remember when I saw this is 2005 in my first year of college! Goddamnit, I love this series!!!!

  • Goosebumps when I first watched this

  • @Bouncest2 Goosebumps WHENEVER I watch this!

  • those who'r dislike this video they didn't the whole seasons

  • What the fuck, Goddamn this is the best series ever to grace television. why am i tearing.......

  • Can't help it. Crying every time I watch it.

  • well shocking and well sad great show

  • Greatest ending ever! One issue, when driving to the east coast from LA, once you get on the freeway you never get off. So when I saw her soon driving in the desert on a two lane road, I thought she was lost - a final metaphor. Obviously, I took it too literally.

  • @5ki8um Yeah, you did - she's still on a freeway, or a highway at least. It's a split one, but that's still a highway.

  • People who come across this video on accident are going to be like.. "wtf.." because of the beginning (:

  • The Wire was great and so was the Sopranos. They were very entertaining and kept you guessing. Six feet under makes you FEEL. thats powerful. Havent came across a show like this before or since.

  • YouTube search:

Six Feet Under In Memoriam part I (1/2)

  • Some people say that the sopranos or the wire is the best television show of all time. Those are great show in terms of writing, production value etc. but Six Feet Under is one of the most enlightening, passionate, provocative, painful and uplifting things of any kind.It challenges the audience to analyse the way they think of life and death not only of their loved ones but of themselves. it's one thing to make you think and another to make you feel, but to do both is an indescribable achievement

  • How do 118 people dislike this! Those 118 People don't have souls!!!

  • i love pie :)

  • LA VERDAD ES QUE NO SE COMO DESCRIBIR LO QUE ESTA SERIE ME TRAJO ,PUES ME HIZO VER LA MUERTE DE DIFERENTE FORMA , Y EN VERDAD QUE CADA VEZ QUE VEO LE FINAL VUELVO A LLORAR .

OJALA MAS SERIES TUVIERAN EL MISMO TIPO DE INTENSIDAD¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • this series is more than a series, it's life. When you get it, you get what the expression ''meaning of life'' means... in a very subtle way. And that's the reason it touches to so many people. And I just can't describe how I was feeling first time I saw the ending... never felt like that in my entire life

  • I NEED THIS SONG

  • Never mind Ruth dying, I start when Nate disappears from the wing mirror!!

  • If there's one thing I fear more than an early death, it's to stay alive long after all the rest of my family are gone. I know I should feel happy that Claire has a long life, but i just keep thinking how much she must have missed them all!! Her eyes at the end when she is reliving all her memories absolutely kills me, then you fade back 80 years to her hopeful young face and it breaks your heart all over again. Unrelentingly brilliant.

  • @aliceat41

omg, u just put into words why i felt the way i did when we saw claire's ''hopeful young face''. It really reminds u how everything has an end... what was one day new, fresh, full of dreams and hopes, is now just a shadow coming to its end... Sry for being so pessimistic, but that's how i feel

  • Just brings tears? I have watched this ending so many times and yet I am a complete blubbering mess every single time. The best series ever ever ever, Alan Ball you are a genius.

  • I never seen a series with a more briliant ending than this! Have seen it for many times, but still brings tears to my eyes.

  • No TV series has ever made me cry as much as this ending. Brilliant.

  • I'd like to think Margaret Chenowith was shot in the mouth by one of her former patients. Karma.....

  • i miss it

  • Best. Ending. Ever

  • I just watched the last episode on DVD, and right before the last scene it got frozen because there was a scratch on the disc even thought I bought it new and never used it!

    ...I couldn't miss the last 10 minutes!

  • Nate just cracks me up at the beginning, but then the humour has a serious side to it as well

  • 4:59 right between Vanessa and Rico, is it me or is that the mugger that stole David's van and threatened to kill him?

  • @elvaelvirababe Nah, don't think so. Similarities though.

  • I lost it when Ruth died, she was my favorite character.

  • i wait for the day i'll be able to watch this without crying like a baby.

  • Watched the whole series again after a year...

    I am short of words.

    Katharsis. For the second time.

    This show is brilliant.

  • @Edralis Thats how I felt, it was so painful to watch and feel their lifes up and downs, the meta-ness of the whole series is beatiful in and of itself, and I hope when I die I get to see my grandpa who died of cancer and who I never got to see go, this scene was just too much, I was bawling myself

  • I especially love how that the last thing Brenda hears is Billy blathering on about himself. That is indeed fitting.

  • I had the exact experience in the spring of 2004 moving from Toronto Canada to Minnesota USA right out of university. Life is beautiful and amazing, love the family you have, we are all family.

  • I miss you six feet under.....

  • So yes I was an idiot, but I still love the show and will watch it, I have not ruined myself I will still enjoy the fantastic actors portraying incredible roles moving me emotionally every new episode i see, watching them dealing with issues that are somewhat still Taboo in our culture and deal with it in a moving and articulate way.so Yes i am an idiot but i

am glad i have found this series and am able to experience it even if i screwed up and watched the last 10 minutes.

  • @musicluver211213 No , you are not idiot, just a sensible human being...I've sen this series years ago an still I search for some episodes in you tube.

  • Yes, I may be an idiot for watching the ending before finishing the series, but it was driving me crazy, never had HBO back in the day and I love this series it is by far a masterpiece and dealt with many social issues of the time and also emotional and philosophical issues if the ages, I am buying the series and will watch them all and treasure them until the day i cease to exist on this planet. the acting was fantastic. I cried like a child at the ending and do at other episodes i see.

  • Joder qué final!!!!, no me canso de verlo. La serie que más gustado de todas las que he visto y con éste final, te deja un sabor agridulce... La 1ª vez que lo vi estuve llorando horas, por que refleionas, que realmente la vida es asi ¿?.

  • Bought the box set in the Spring and have just spent the last week watching all 5 series. This is the best TV series EVER. I cried SO much at the end!! Amazing - a must see. x

  • @albinoflavourdninjas I know your comment is from 3 years ago, but I read yours and felt compelled to respond. You watched the ending without watching the series first? Honestly, you ruined it for yourself. There is no way to completely understand the ending without having seen the previous episodes first! Go back and watch it, you won't be disappointed, and the ending will have so much more meaning after you have. Cheers. :)

  • One of the best endings to a show period. It gets me every time.

  • Just started watching series recently and catching up i really wish i would not have watched this damn ending, it fit the show and was perfect but depressed the hell out of me.

  • @musicluver211213 Wait a minute, let me get this straight. You JUST started watching the series and you watched this video!? NO! You have to watch the whole series first! One of the reasons why this finale is so impacting is because you have followed these characters and their relationships and struggles from the beginning! You get emotionally attached. Then the end just kills you, I watched the finale at 3am a few yrs back and I was crying so hard I woke up my boyfriend I was so loud.

  • @PlanckEpoch OMG, that's the same for me!! I've watched the finale at almost 3am and i was crying so hard that i've woke up my girlfriend.. and she was like "are u kiddin' me?? Are u crying like that just for a tv show??" (she didn't watched it)

  • @musicluver211213 You're an idiot. You might as well just not bother wasting your time & start with another series. You ruined it for yourself...

  • Just finished watching all five seasons. I thought the first season was great, the second season pretty good. From the third season and on, i felt it got really uninteresting. Cheap cliff-hangers, extremely unrealistic character development, and just far fetched writing in general. I must say that as a whole, i think this show is very overrated. It's not bad, but definately overrated.

  • @aigg Yet you're watching this video... good job

  • @MrBoobs457 That is a good job...hmmm....

  • I kept it together till Keith gets shot. Dammmmn

  • Brenda's husband is Bradley Cooper! ... Im hoping.

  • My favorite show. Is it me or does nobody seem to mention it anymore ever since it ended? It seems like "The Wire" And "The Sopranos" get all the cult following...

  • @KleWdSide people understood the meaning of the show for what it is. after the end, you gotta move on ;)

  • cheesy ass scene really. i liked htis show but really glad its over

  • my favorite episode is the biker funeral, when nate gets the harley.

  • They never showed what happen to Nate's daughters though

  • The guy that played Nate actually auditioned for the role of David.

  • Just watched all 5 seasons and like you all, I CRIED. It felt like losing real family memories. best ending ever.

  • Thumbs up if your still watching this in 2011

  • @vauxhallnj

just got done finishing watching the series for the 2nd time. Bawling at the end! Have to watch the ending again!

  • @vauxhallnj Best ending,best show ever made.peace!!!!

  • @sgagnon1968 sorry I accidentally voted down and don't know how to undo it :\

  • The best ending to any show i have ever seen. I cried all the way through, Honestly felt like i had lost family.

  • I have just finished watching the whole five seasons and I cried at the end when I watched it today....so sad I have finished watching them all but a fantastic ending although sad

  • God this is the most touching ending to a show ever. What I like is that is shows that the series was just one small part of their lives, that it all went on. I started crying with Ruth's death, and then completely lost it when David sees Keith and dies. I miss this show so much!!!

  • @ishockmyself Who the hell says "bollocks"?

  • Excellent material throughout the whole series. Stunning ending !

  • Excellent material throughout the whole series

  • "You can't take a picture of this- it's already gone" the whole scene is so f.cking touching!!!!

  • This show was way ahead of it's time. Too bad there are hardly any good ones like this around anymore. :(

  • what i would of liked, just to show the progression of time is when keith gets shot the robbers are using lazer guns just to show that its in the future.

  • Damn you Six Feet Under, making a grown man cry.

  • bored to death @8:02

  • I just finished to whole series, and i started to choke up when i saw Ruth dying, and i realized that when i saw the "1946-2025" i knew that they were going to show all the Fishers deaths.

  • The title of this episode was "Everybody's Waiting". The ending was nearly perfect. I believe the ending would have been "perfectly perfect" if everybody was waiting for Claire at the very end.

  • @GidaCarbonara OMG SO TRUE!!!! you need to write to allen ball and demand they film that last scene again and add it into a bonus dvd version, then air the entire series again with this newly ammended episode!!!

  • @GidaCarbonara In a way they were waiting. She was surrounded by their pictures at the end, all her memories of her loved ones. Perfectly fitting for Claire I think. :)

  • Every once in a while, I come watch this video and go away remembering the importance of living life to the fullest.

  • Second best ending to a series...the first being "The Shield".

  • lol when they show billy holding the dog.

  • death metal?????

  • Carpe diem, seize the day.

If people die, love is immortal (7:25)

  • I shall never get over this finale. It's so heart breaking, wonderful and so real xxxxx

  • @muse001 I agree. I was depressed for days after I watched it. It really did something to me for some reason - I guess because I watched it from the beginning, I sort of felt like they were a part of my family, if that's not weird. I just loved this show SO much. I'm so thankful that I can still watch "David" on Dexter. :) Plus, I have this whole boxset so I can throw the DVD's in when I have a craving. :)

  • @kelaltieri yeah I have the boxset too. A good friend of mine made my day on my Birthday. Thanks for the wonderful reply. P.S unfortunately over here in Belgium we don't get the series 'Dexter'.

  • Six Feed Under = Our death is unavoidable, but so to is living life without regrets.

  • Claire: thank you for giving me life

    Ruth: you gave me life

  • This really is the absolutely best series finale to any show that has ever existed; even if you don't believe that Six Feet Under was the best show ever (which it is pretty close to), it's hard to say that the last ten minutes aren't filled with extreme love and passion and pure unadulterated sorrow. The instant George starts crying, I freaking lose it. Every time. And, notice that one of Keith and David's sons is gay.

  • @JoeBarborak i've seen this show, and the finale, a million times but this is the first time i noticed that too!

  • @JoeBarborak yeah i think its the younger one.

  • best hbo show ever

  • The perfect song to the perfect ending of the best series EVER.

  • Perfect, perfect, perfect! The second Claire starts driving I start crying like a baby. Every single time.

  • I cried so hard.

  • After finishing Six Feet Under, I don't think I'm capable of watching TV anymore. Nothing is ever going to amount. @hd25yuutube It makes me want to ugly cry thinking about it.

  • six feet under = life

  • This video should be banned for those who haven't seen all episodes of "Six Feet Under"

  • 115 peoples eyes are so blurry with tears that they hit the dislike button by accident.

  • @Gagsy10 hmm, guess not
