  • Man I cry everytime, makes me think of little Johnny and all the greasers, best movie in the world

  • Man I cry everytime I hear this, makes me think of all the greasers and it's just the best movie in the world

  • I like how Johnny's name is like right there in the middle on the front up there ;'D

  • So it's not just me who wants to cry? ;')

  • For some reason, whenever i think of the outsiders, i just want to cry all day.

  • i wish i was born in the 1970, so Iwould've been 13 when this came out instead of me being almost 14 right now and seeing this instead when it came out 28 years ago.

In short... I was born in the wrong decade.

  • This is the best version of the song. no harmanica. straight from the movie. pure

  • this song brings tears to my eyes, it makes me reminince about my childhood friends and all the trouble and good times we had. good song to reflect on your child hood.

  • does anyone know why there is 2 openings to the outsiders?

  • @killertron9000 one is from the first movie they released. then they released another with uncut footage that they didnt add to the original movie

  • One of the most beautiful opening title sequences ever. I saw the film at one of the loneliest times in my life and it always moves me very deeply every time I see this and hear that beautiful song. I worked with Patrick Swayze on his last project and we talked about the film and I told him how much it meant to me. Now that he is gone it has that much more meaning to me.

Music score is by Carmine Coppola. If anyone wants Wonder's re-recording of it let me know and I'll upload it for you.

  • Great song reflects on childhood innocents and memories of friends long ago. a time passed, but not forgotten.

  • stevie wonder is wonderful

  • I actually cried when Dally died... more than I did to Johnyy, I new he was gonna die, once I heard him scream in the church on fire

  • this version of the film left out the scene where he gets jumped coming back from the movies...

    the newer version has it.

  • wow 0 people have bad taste in movies hahaha

  • stay gold or what a wonderful world? I am gonna go with stevie wonder's stay gold

  • who the hell uses Twitter??? lmao...

    and it's Matt Dillon...

he was also in You Me And Dupree...

    but ya hes dally lmfao

  • This video is awesome. You can follow Ralph Macchio on Twitter. The other day he tweeted that he ran into Dally in a restaurant. That's so cool.

  • is this version of the song on itunes?

  • we're reading this in class. i have a felling we iz gonna cry :\

  • this used to be my fav film! :)

  • RIP Patrick Swayze

  • this song makes me wanna cry

it reminds me of how jhonny dies:((((

i lovee this song almost as much as the movie this is amazing

  • The author has a role in this movie lol...she's the nurse.

  • I read this in seventh grade...it was good. But then the moment went away when we finished it and started reading these KKK books non stop...

  • Ralph Macchio: Karate Kid

Matt Dillon: You Me and Dupree

  • Amazing song. Fantastic performance by Stevie Wonder. His greatest vocal performance in my humble opinion.

  • The sepia-toned photography, the great Stevie Wonder, the giant letters crawling across the screen... Best opening credits ever...

  • At first when we watch this in school we thought this was the end credits

  • dude this is a classic movie and book

  • Saw this when it came out, still brings a tear to my eyes...

  • In the revised version Carmine Coppalla's music is replaced by some shmaltzy campy 50's background music. Makes you feel like you're watching an updated version of the Blackboard Jungle or something. Thank you for posting this though. I absolutely love this song!

  • love this song.

  • Eric Burden and the animals - Gloria

  • thats a good version. the version in the movie was sung by van morrison when he was in the band "THEM". great song that is.

  • can u still get the extended version? because i bought it but its the newer version. but still amazing movie. ralph macchio and matt dillon <3

  • gloria sang by a band called them..but there are many covers made by other people..

  • Van Morrison.

  • i love van morrison

  • Bellissimi titoli di testa, bellissima canzone, bellissimo film. Vorrei sapere perchè la soundtrack (originale) non si trova da nessuna parte..

  • patrick swayze was sooo hot in this movie

  • I like this version :)

  • yo this movie was amazing ..... i wish i was in it.... lol

  • loved the movie and the book i like the extended version of the movie

  • Great Movie!!!

  • Best Movie Ever Made! I love Two-Bit. Love the song to

  • my favorite character was Dally...he had that tough guy look.

I also found Two Bit cool.

I donno why but i liked that phrase in the book 'he cocked an eyebrow' it just makes me lol...

  • The uncut version really has no opening credits, right after he says 'movie house', the movie starts.

It also has more to it, it shows him being jumped at the beginning.

  • The uncut version is overall a vastly inferior film to this original in every way. Coppola pulled a Lucas. *sighs*

I hated 99% of the music changes. Most of them turn a scene that worked perfectly originally with the great score to an unbalanced, mostly cheesy equivalent.

  • As embarassed as i am to say.

This movie brought tears, so so great.

but whenver i wanna be reminded of it, i play the game Bully lol.

  • awesome movie!!!!!

    stevie wonder is awesome to!!!!

  • Great Great Movie!!!

  • ***This is the beginning to the cut version.***

  • Man! I thought when I watched this movei for the first time on A&E I had already missed the movie cause the beginnings so long!

  • Stay Gold bt Stevie Wonder is a legend! I love the Outsiders.

I would be so happy if they ever made a 2 one but I guess that wont ever happen :P

  • Yeah, I would be too, but what would it be about? S.E. Hinton (Susan) said she'd never write a sequel, I think it would prolly break her heart to write about Dally and Johnny not bein part of the main characters...I knw it would break mine. I just finished the book and I've been grieving for the past couple days...

-A Shenanigan with a Basket Case of Nimrod

  • I ment the classical atmospheric piece played in the background when Dallas is dying, not the rock but the music from the original film?

  • I'm pretty sure that was the original score composed by Carmine Coppola.

  • I luv this film, Stevie Wonder, the literature references and most of the soundtrack, does any1 know the classical atmospheric piece played in the background throughout parts of the film?

  • And ya, its Stay Gold by Stevie Wonder.

  • i remember a game that had part of this movie in it...it had the Greaser gang and stuff. at the end the main character visits them and they say one of the members is robbing a store...and then you see a cut scene of the one where Dallas died...except its game-like...and the cop uses an AK.

  • dood...du u know the name of the song that plays in this?

  • I believe it's Stay Gold sung by Stevie Wonder

  • Whenever i look at my car i think of this movie lmao

    [its a blue mustang]

  • @JimmyHopkins2 SOC!!!!!!!!!
