  • flying at 60ft how the hell any of them got out alive is beyond me.upmost respect to guy gibson and his boys true british hero's.

  • What an experience to be there, thanks for sharing.

  • In Spanish. From Venezuela; Esos 4 motores Merlin rugiendo en un bombardero, musica para mis oidos...mejor que los del jet...

  • Can you imagine what it must have like to look up and see 1000 of these bombers or transports fly over?

There are many recreated Spitifires flying where I live in the Western US.

  • SPit + Hurricane , that sound makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up

  • Sweet! That was great wasn't it? I've seen all the rest, but never a Lancaster. Serious chills!

  • thats the sound of air superiority.....its pure power

  • True True

  • I was running pretty late that day, but I just managed to get there in time to see the lanc. I was about to head back to my car when I heard two more merlins roaring over the water, so I legged it back to my view point and just caught the arse ends of the spit and huri, which was a nice surprise as I thought it was just going to be the lanc that day.

  • Well if you'd stayed around you'd have also seen the Dakota along with 2 Tornado's from the current Dambuster squadron. Was a memorable day.

  • To be honest, I was skiving work, and was pushing my luck in stopping as long as I did :)

  • thanks for the brilliant video

the 6 merlins was the best part followed by 2 wasps

  • I was there. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. Absoloutely stunning performance. Wanted to take my nan to see it but she's not able to walk too well.

Luckily for her the Lancaster flew over the village that morning so she saw it! :D

  • I live in NZ now, i was ta the 30th anniversary as a 7 year old boy and was lucky enough to be in the UK on holiday when this happened........it gave me shivers down my spine to see and hear it all again...magic memories..i have added my footage too

  • thanks for posting

I missed it as I was away on holiday

gutted, but the video makes up for it a bit

  • NICE!!...i went to the same event, i got some stuning pics

  • Top footage mate, was there in 1993 for the 50th

  • Nice, ive just uploaded my footage of the event.

  • What brilliant machines we had in the war years. What ever happened to Great Britain?

  • WWII annihilated our economy, but it bought unprecedented peace to Western Europe which is now an example to the world. As far as aircraft go, the Eurofighter Typhoon is the first proper fighter for the RAF since the Lightning, and in the tradition of the Spitfire it's agile, lethal and highly adaptable. We still have a lot to be proud about!

  • Truely there is a lot of good in the country but the nation needs to get it's fingure out or be left behind by the rest of the world. The cost of WWII was emense. Ultimately those who lose are the winners because it's the "winner" who has to pay for the rebuilding of the country that lost.

  • Very nice footage! I hope some of your material is getting viewed by the big boys in television?! thankyou for uploading.

  • THANKYOU so much for putting this on here !!! .I could'nt get to Derwent Valley on the day due to work. Thankyou again !

  • Saw the actual Lancaster bomber go over my back garden in South-East Derbyshire last Saturday (10th May) and it was terrific! Couldn't believe how low the thing was; I could see the glass, the gun turret and everything - it couldn't have been more than 700 feet in the air.

  • Dude so did i! I live in Stockport, it flew right over my house like you say, at around 700. I heard it did a TnG at Woodford.

  • Fantastic footage, i am gutted that i missed it.

  • One of the best bits of footage I have seen of this event. Thanks

  • Thank you for this footage! I live in Spain, and probably would have travelled up for this moment! Thanks again

  • Thank you for sharing that.

  • lucky wish id have been there saw the lanc fly over the airfield where i work such an awesome sight

  • I was there on the dam, recording away on my new phone/cam... All rubbish! Got a good little video clip of the Dak going over I'll be posting once I figure this damn thing out...

  • Brilliant what a sight. However was watching sky news today, when the broadcaster red the following headlines "THE DAMS IS CHINA THAT HAVE STAYED STRONG HAVE KEPT POWER GOING TO AID THE AID WORKERS THERE, NEXT THE 65th ANIVERSARY OF THE SUCSEFULL DAMBUSTERS RAID ON THREE DAMS OVER OCCPIED EUROPE" how ironic and kind of funny

  • Many thanks for sharing the video. My wife was lucky enough to see this from Chatsworth. Wish I could have been there (not for the original - I'm not as brave as those guys were).

    Excellent!

  • Excellent footage mate, i was there to see that myself today! Brilliant, im glad to see you caught the Tornado, it's a shame you missed the Two GR4's though. Saying that, i did too lmao. They were really quick!

  • I was caught between photographing one run, then videoing the next. As you say, the GR4's didn't half come along quickly, but I got a shot with the Lanc & a Tornado ;-). Photos will be on the web site tomorrow as I'm now knackered having spent the night sleeping in the car!
