  • @GTS2211 This shows that 2 can play that game. We men most times underestimate our women...

  • Had an ex just like this use to set his beeper off and say he had to go to work..lol To funny..Notice I said EX..

  • Golden.

  • Bet you I'm the only youngan in Tucson, Arizona listening to this song.

  • Mrs. Jerry (Reed) Hubbard, doing a beautiful job opposite Roy Drusky. Her husband played in all those Smokey and The Bandit movies, and was a top notch guitar picker. The late J.R. Hubbard is missed by all that knew him.

  • I had forgotten about this song TY

  • I love this song thanks for posting this a fact of life right or wrong brought on by either lust or true love and if you have never been there you would not understand

  • @MrRanwolfe

I agree, it's also about lack of love.

  • I just heard this classic on our old timey radio station and I raced home to hear it on here...thanks for posting it!! But now, I want to write a smart alecky answer song to that wretched man and that lil home wrecking trollop...Ive live through this exact situation in my family, thank goodness not my hubby or he'd be missing his bollocks LOL...but it's terrible all the same, either be married and be good or just be a player and don't break the wife's heart....grrrrrr....GB

  • @GettnBooted. Hi, but what happens when the wife does'nt want to give love or be loved. Where does the loyal, loving husband go then? When he wants a hug and kiss and is pushed away........well he soon learns not to bother any more.

  • True, that happens to folks normken, I can't really speak to that because I've always been a kind and faithful wife, my feelings of ire come from losing a sister in law and some gal was already entertaining my bro in law and in their case it was not that the wife pushed him away, she was sick and she suffered alot and he was elsewhere already "moving on" with his life. I guess he had forgotten those vows he took "in sickness and in health" and the other woman is younger so he went for it GB

  • I am trying to work out my anger so cheat'n songs probably not good, lol I feel sorry for any spouse who quit being loved, marriage is tough in the best of circumstances, sick/well rich/poor me and my husband have stuck by each other and I wish it was that way for every one...but then too, sometimes a cheater will lie to a new younger exciting lover and the wife really is still loving him at home. that has happened to friends of mine I know that too. I want most to have good real love, GB

  • nice song!

  • Such a well crafted and balanced song - thanks for posting. :-)

  • Love this song, I was Mr. Peters....many times, I hate myself, however my wife, didnot care.... O ..How they forget after you marry them. They just use you.

  • heard for the first time after i orderd the time life classic country collection and this one is somehow became one of my all time favorites, no doubt they don't make em like this anymore. who the hell is mr. peters, it dosn't matter and i wouldn't even want to know.

  • MY MOST FAVORED DUET to hear and to sing....What a GROONER of a voice of the Late Roy Drusky whom sadly passed away Sept. 23, 2004 at the age of 74 yrs. I have known this song for well over 50 yrs and just did this song duet on MySpace myspace.

This song was the first and there is an ANSWER SONG called "HURRY, MR PETERS" by Lorene Mann and the Late Justin Tubb, (son of the Late Ernest Tubb). What a fantastic pair of DUETS....I love it when there are ANSWER SONGS to originals...THANKS KEN
