color coding, apparently by tradition, red is an aggressive masculine color- tending to anger and agitation, expressive energy. In the early 20th century the typical 'genderised' popular colour coding was reversed. BLUE became the standard for what suited boys and pink a toned down shade of RED applied to girls. BLUE was delegated to men to help passify civil unrest, post war. Traditionally blue applies to the feminine and the passive, receptive energy.

i'm so glad someone else has noticed this untill recently most news channels such as the bbc and itn have had a main theme of red but i noticed about a 6mths ago they had all changed to blue so have many other tv show background titles,colour is definately used to control mood its 1 of the main reason places like mc filths restaraunts and other fast food companies use red for it is a colour that implies danger and stops u from hanging around for long after we have bought their filth,good vid 5*
