@XxRiderXpollyXx do u have a clue??? how are the horses pushed too hard, have you ever considered ground conditions, that was a contruibting factor to half of these videos,
I gotta say, though this made me laugh quite a bit and go OH MY GOD quite a bit, why is it every one of these videos I see, the horses run away from the riders I've ditched? Can't be a good relationship between them, and some of the riding was terrible.
But, some of it was very well handled which makes up for it, I haven't experienced a fall around the barrels yet aha one day :P
@Ellie5552597 Lol, I caps locked it so it was easier to read, youtube will take down videos that are copyrighted so I wanted to get the message across that I don't claim to own rights to the content used. I personally don't really care if it looks bad on me, you either like to watch my videos or you dont :p thanks for the heads up though, I'm glad you liked the video and thanks for the support:)
I don't mean to be rude but to all the people who say that the barrel racers should learn how to ride a horse before they barrel race be quiet. Ya some of them could use a little bit more riding. I barrel race and it is not easy by any means. So if you havent tried it or stuck with it you cant be saying much. Maybe their beginners and they need more time dont be bashing them because they may not be as good as you if you barrel race. Thanks!!
Freakin hilarious, they are ridding like idiots and ain't making their signals clear! I have a 4 yr old stud and he is automatic barrel horse and I trained him, look him up, his name is Jetta Is A Rocket and he is a little bay. :)
Most of these girls are making their horses go shoulder in and no pocket either. Also i wear a helmet even my mom does so be careful lol and loved the video.
I raced for years and only fell off once at a show I told the judges not to come out in this one spot and the one did like came out while i was running poles he waved his arms spoked my horse and i was holdin on to the side of her she paused I let go people thought she kicked me in the head but my baby did her bestshe jumped over me stood there looking at me Barrels are so easy just learn how to ride first sit your seat!! sit turn if your horse traind right too I grew up Training horses
actually u'd be surprised how many times this happens in a rodeo, or even in practice. Horses loose footing for just a quick secound and sometimes it's easier on the horse to just let go. I've had my horse loose his footing twice and i'd rather let go and fall instead of my horse falling. Of course now everyone is going to say ima bad rider, which i dnt care.....i think of myself as a great rider, but thats my opinion. =D
haha ok word of advice ... barrel racing takes skill so if you cant ride heres a thought , dont barrel race . learn to STAY ON the horse. i have been barrel racin for years and ive had and have seen bad falls but this is just bad riding and im still laughing
This just goes to prove that many "backyard cowgirls" don't have a clue what they're doing. Their horse can simply come a little off balance and they go flying! These people are so off balance they caused most of these wrecks. Seriously, they should go back to basics lol.
Nice video I am not a barrel racing fan....I do own an x barrel horse who will never run a barrel under my care, however, to each their own. I do appreciate the time someone put into my mare as anyone can ride her. She is a great horse, and I enjoy watching the sport.
@AshleighRSexton your probably right a lot of these riders wouldn't be hard to out ride, and they are not perfect riders and altough I've won my fair share of races, im able to see and remember were i've gotten offbalanced myself, lol and don't deny that you have never either. But just because you've riden problem horses doesn't mean you can can fix them with a snap. My point is It's not always as easy as it may seem. lol. what gets me mad is when people think their good riders..ran out of room^
So of these horses hated the people that were on them, thats sad. Like the lady at the end if it would have showed her fall off then you would have noticed that the horse stoped as soon as her ass left the saddle. Thats sad, for that horse anyway.
I just recently did my first speed classes (I'm 18) and I've been riding for 10 some years...I know my own limitations which is what I see in some of these...these people dont know their own limitations. Some of them I can tell that they horse was just having an off day...but some riders are just too big headed to see where they fault.
I love how allt eh horses run back. Lol. I had a crash on my gelding -- totally 100% my fault. and we just slipped and he landed on my foot but stayed there and looked at me lol.
negative comments or not...I am amazed at the lack of horsemanship of some of these riders and the pain/soreness of some of the horses - its ridculous that people can't see it or feel it...
@TurnsandBurns With the exception of the horses that fell, it wouldnt be that hard to out ride the majority of these riders. I train horses and I have done a lot of corrective training on horses just like these, its those people that MAKE their horses act like this because they dont know how to control them or try to over control them, you have to know your boundries with horses. So me personally I could stay on the horses in this situation cause I have "fixed" horses that have problems similar.
don't yall just love it when people are more concerned about the horse than the person? XD don't get me wrong i love horses, but it sickens me when animals get put before a person. just saying....
@bubba3667 the rider's bodies ARE "hitting the floor" in a sense. I don't see how it doesn't fit? I just thought it was a fun song to put to this because of the lyrics. Thank you though. Lol.
@Ilovemyequines i take back what i said the lyrics go good with the vid what i ment to say was that you usually dont here that genre in rodeo lol .......i still give it a 10/10 :)
@KLMshow101 lol no please, please continue. I'd love to hear from someone over youtube what I wouldn't "understand" about horses. Barrel racing is an 'acquired taste'. There's no elegance, most of the riders have rough hands and numb seats, it's all about speed speed speed and the horses are trained to be hot-headed and nothing else. I know, since I've barrel raced before, and got out of it when I realized it's...retarded
I just LOVE people like you who think they "know" so much about barrel racing! Because first off YOU DONT! How is there no elegance? Because they are going fast? But actually they do, going around the barrels in one smooth motion. Most of the riders are actually very light handed, just because we have our hands out doesnt mean we are pulling, its called guiding. And we dont like hot headed horses, because thats what causes faults. And ya thats what they do! FAST! Jumpers are trained to JUMP!
cont- So I dont see what the deal is! And actually we do have a seat, because if we didnt we would be on the ground at the first barrel. So you obviously are not willing to give something a try. Ya I thought jumping, and dressage were stupid and retarted until I tried it. And its awesome. And I have seen horses that want to GO GO GO and are got headed in english sports also. ANY horse can be hot headed NOT just one disipline!
@kelliefan1017 Lol wow. how old are you, like 13? You're closeminded and ignorant. I have probably done more with horses in five years than you have your entire life. Roping, barrels, poles, trails, jumping, dressage... you're speaking to someone who has been there, done that. I understand what barrel racing is, because I trained horses to do it, and unfortunately there are MANY amateur trainers out there who teach horses the WRONG WAY but tugging on their mouths with long shank bits, kicking
the crap out of them, whipping them... that is not training. It's torture. And quite frankly, that's how MOST of the people ride. I probably know more about this sport than you ever will, so don't go telling me I don't.
WOW! FYI, you sure sound like the ignorant one, I also train barrel horses, my mom trains barrel horses, my best friend trains barrel horses, and is a pro- barrel racer, another one of my friends was the Rookie of the year in 2004 for the WPRA in barrels, I have traveled to one of the biggest barrel races and winning a truck before somebody ran a one one hundreth faster than me. I have also done jumping, roping, poles, ect. I have been there done that also!
cont- Spring- fall I barrel race every weekend, and maybe one during the week. I ride 7 days a week, 6 horses a day. And most people dont use harsh bits. And when training the smart people use snaffles, and gradually put there horse in something a little more in there mouth for more control. And do slow work, not run there horses. Cause thats not training. I have won many buckles, saddles, and other awards. And I have some awesome barrel horses.
@kelliefan1017 Yeah, I have seen kids that ride horses daily and still suck. Not saying you do, I'm just saying riding tons of horses doesn't always mean you're some amazing trainer/rider.
Actually riding tons of horses DOES help you be a good rider, as you have different horses that have to be rode different ways, and tought differently. That is what made me a good rider is having to ride so many different horses.
@kelliefan1017 i agree i work up at a stable on the wknds and i also bored a horse there i dont get paid to work cuz im only 11 but the owner lets me ride his horses to broaden my experience and thats good cuz wen i grow up i plan to work with horses
i totally agree with you! don't listen to CherokeeCheval, i have done everything out there too, and i know way too many hot headed horses that jump, rope, barrel race, drive, that are country pleasure champions, and are dressage horses. any disipline can have hot- headed horsess!
when the riders come off the horse most of them (the horses) run bk to the bit they out form (i dont know what its called) nd some of them if they fall stand straight bk up nd just stand there coz mostly its because theyve just slide nd fell, if a horse didnt want you on their backs hen they would try to get you off, me i would jump off the second they started bucking.
but i dont really know anything about horses thts just my oppinion.
@CherokeeCheval Uhhh no its not it is what horses are made for speed and skill!! i AM a barrel racer and I think its awesome but i guess it is you thats retarded
I agree the ground is terrible! I also agree with the fact that some of these people need to learn how to ride, or go back to the basics of centered riding, I mean they look like they can't stay with their horse around the barrel!
what the heck!!! all these crashes happened at like the same two places! look at the barrels like 4 of the falls were different people going around the same barrel!
holy crap, this is pathetic, over half of these girls just fell off cause they couldn't ride their way out a hat. Wear a helmet and pay for some damn riding lessons before you really hurt yourself or your horses.
The only problem with these horses is people usually forget to put on their bit guards. or they change bits spur of the moment. they aren't badly behaved. they love what they do! ask anyone who gets on one of these animals!
I could see where not having bit guards on would be an issue, but I wouldn't say that and the changing of the bits are the "only" problems. I do agree that they love what they do though. :)
I love Barrel Racing... thats the sport i do and the only sport i do LOL i LOVE barrel Racing i have flew over a horses head during barrel racing so i know how these peeps feel ! IT HURTS
Haha thanks for the comment. Horse riding is the only spot I do too lol. Hitting the dirt does hurt but its part of the game. I hate all the people that say riding isn't a sport? Are you kidding me! Haha.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! Falling off is part of the game, I've fallin off, been fallen on, it hurts, but you got ot laugh about it. I do, i sit in the arena bleeding and im laughin. Its how you learn.
I've fallen off many times in my 6 years old riding and while yes, it does hurt, and I have ended up with many broken bones, I still always laugh at it if it was a mistake on my part. You sometimes have to just laugh it off. All of us competitive horse riders know falling off is part of riding. It comes with the occupation. Please do not get all worked up by other peoples comments or if you choose to get worked up anyway, comment them on their private profiles please. Thank you. :)
how could anyone possibly think that this is funny! i've had tons of falls myself and let me tel you, IT AIN'T FUNNY! it hurts like hell and if y'all think this is so hilarious then get up on a horse and see for yourself, it's terrifying! so y'all better knock it offf withthe "this is so funny" crap!
okay those of u that think thats funny well its not im a barrel racer and i have had most of this happen to me and its not fun i broke me arm and my wrist and my nose and i will tell u that it hurts really badly so yea and if u have had a horse rare on u and went back down forward ur lucky bcuz when a horses rares and comes over the back that really really hurts badly so people who think that it is funny please think again and hopefully nothing like this will happen to u ever bcuz it hurts bad
Ok I would like to see what you would do when your horse all of a sudden does something and you are starting to fall. I bet that you would also grab the reins. And barrel racing isnt the only equine sport that when someone is falling they grab the reins when they are falling.
I'm not necessarily criticizing barrel racing, No offense. I've ridden horses before, and the horses would occasionally spook. First reaction is indeed to grab the reins, but after that initial reaction I'd try to grab the saddle.
Even then you cant say you will like it if someone's full weight would hang on your mouth. <_< And having your ribcage bashed by riders isnt enjoyable either.
i kind of agree with you. i think that for gaming and barrel racing purposes you should use hackamores so its not putting so much strain on the horses mouth. and dont say that your horse wont respond. i took a hard mouthed paint mare that would blow through the bit all the time and used a hackamore on her and she did perfectly the horses like it.
Actually (mechanical) hackamores w/ curb chains, can break horse's jaws when too much pressure is used on the reins. Any other type of bitless bridle, if it is placed too low, can break nose bones or affect breathing. So a hackamore is not always better. Teaching your horse how to respond lightly and properly to pressure even when excited is the best prevention to having to strain a horses mouth. If you are having to yank, your horse needs work.
Been there done that. Except my horse always stops and waits for me and then one time I fell off because the saddle slipped and he ran back over to me and licked me! It was weird. It sucks falling off, but every rider does it. Most of the time when the horse falls like that it stands back up and keeps going but the rider was all in a weird position. Lol. Poor riders. But, that's the part that comes with barrels.
one of the scariest feelings is when your starting to fall off , but then again thats what makes it so fun u gotta have a lil bit of excitement (: it gets you excited lol
most of what i saw was the fault of the rider.. leaning the wrong way.. some of them were.. idk what they were thinking lol ex 1:32 however.. id like to turn a pattern on the one at 2:30 i bet he'd burn um down
It's funny how all the horses run for the exit.

And when training the smart people use snaffles, and gradually put there horse in something a little more in there mouth for more control. And do slow work, not run there horses. Cause thats not training. I have won many buckles, saddles, and other awards. And I have some awesome barrel horses.
kelliefan1017 1 year ago
@kelliefan1017 Yeah, I have seen kids that ride horses daily and still suck. Not saying you do, I'm just saying riding tons of horses doesn't always mean you're some amazing trainer/rider.
CherokeeCheval 1 year ago
Actually riding tons of horses DOES help you be a good rider, as you have different horses that have to be rode different ways, and tought differently. That is what made me a good rider is having to ride so many different horses.
kelliefan1017 1 year ago
@kelliefan1017 i agree i work up at a stable on the wknds and i also bored a horse there i dont get paid to work cuz im only 11 but the owner lets me ride his horses to broaden my experience and thats good cuz wen i grow up i plan to work with horses
haleyattack 1 year ago
@kelliefan1017
i totally agree with you! don't listen to CherokeeCheval, i have done everything out there too, and i know way too many hot headed horses that jump, rope, barrel race, drive, that are country pleasure champions, and are dressage horses. any disipline can have hot- headed horsess!

Ow I have done a huge slip around a barrel but stayed on and recovered on our time but poor riders and horses!!!
KLMshow101 1 year ago
when the riders come off the horse most of them (the horses) run bk to the bit they out form (i dont know what its called) nd some of them if they fall stand straight bk up nd just stand there coz mostly its because theyve just slide nd fell, if a horse didnt want you on their backs hen they would try to get you off, me i would jump off the second they started bucking.
but i dont really know anything about horses thts just my oppinion.

cool song i hate it when horses get hurt!!!!!!!
autumnroseblundell76 1 year ago
@autumnroseblundell76 all these horses came away with absolutly no injuries, and the riders had minor injuries (sprains, concussions, bruising).
Ilovemyequines 1 year ago
scratch that-- PEOPLE are assholes sometimes. barrel racing is kinda retarded.
CherokeeCheval 1 year ago
@CherokeeCheval Uhhh no its not it is what horses are made for speed and skill!! i AM a barrel racer and I think its awesome but i guess it is you thats retarded

I agree the ground is terrible! I also agree with the fact that some of these people need to learn how to ride, or go back to the basics of centered riding, I mean they look like they can't stay with their horse around the barrel!
LiddyBug24 1 year ago 7
@LiddyBug24 haha thts funny and very true!
haladej123 1 year ago
Ground looks like it need some help . A lot of these people need to learn how to ride before they try barrel racing.
mtcanchaser2 2 years ago 13
@mtcanchaser2 I tottally agree!!
KLMshow101 1 year ago
The ground looks like it's crap. Too gritty for the horses, more are falling due to the ground.

what the heck!!! all these crashes happened at like the same two places! look at the barrels like 4 of the falls were different people going around the same barrel!
cheekababy27 2 years ago
holy crap, this is pathetic, over half of these girls just fell off cause they couldn't ride their way out a hat. Wear a helmet and pay for some damn riding lessons before you really hurt yourself or your horses.
velocabunting 2 years ago
The only problem with these horses is people usually forget to put on their bit guards. or they change bits spur of the moment. they aren't badly behaved. they love what they do! ask anyone who gets on one of these animals!
TyandTayProductions 2 years ago
I could see where not having bit guards on would be an issue, but I wouldn't say that and the changing of the bits are the "only" problems. I do agree that they love what they do though. :)
Ilovemyequines 2 years ago
wtihout the bit guards the sides of the bit can pinch the horses mouth.
TyandTayProductions 2 years ago
I never said not having bit guards was not an issue, just that it probably isn't the only issue.

I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! Falling off is part of the game, I've fallin off, been fallen on, it hurts, but you got ot laugh about it. I do, i sit in the arena bleeding and im laughin. Its how you learn.

me 2 every one is just in amazment i am a pretty small 11 year old girl so they think i am cryin but i am laughin my head off
em352 2 years ago
I've fallen off many times in my 6 years old riding and while yes, it does hurt, and I have ended up with many broken bones, I still always laugh at it if it was a mistake on my part. You sometimes have to just laugh it off. All of us competitive horse riders know falling off is part of riding. It comes with the occupation. Please do not get all worked up by other peoples comments or if you choose to get worked up anyway, comment them on their private profiles please. Thank you. :)
Ilovemyequines 2 years ago
how could anyone possibly think that this is funny! i've had tons of falls myself and let me tel you, IT AIN'T FUNNY! it hurts like hell and if y'all think this is so hilarious then get up on a horse and see for yourself, it's terrifying! so y'all better knock it offf withthe "this is so funny" crap!

Hm.. Looked painful getting stamped on by the horses. I feel kind of bad for the horses though. I like the music ^^
DarkShadowfax 2 years ago
Why do you feel bad for the horses?
kelliefan1017 2 years ago
I can't say I would enjoy it if someone would put a metal bar in my mouth and hang on it before dropping down. >_>'
DarkShadowfax 2 years ago
Ok I would like to see what you would do when your horse all of a sudden does something and you are starting to fall. I bet that you would also grab the reins. And barrel racing isnt the only equine sport that when someone is falling they grab the reins when they are falling.
kelliefan1017 2 years ago
I'm not necessarily criticizing barrel racing, No offense. I've ridden horses before, and the horses would occasionally spook. First reaction is indeed to grab the reins, but after that initial reaction I'd try to grab the saddle.
Even then you cant say you will like it if someone's full weight would hang on your mouth. <_< And having your ribcage bashed by riders isnt enjoyable either.
DarkShadowfax 2 years ago
i kind of agree with you. i think that for gaming and barrel racing purposes you should use hackamores so its not putting so much strain on the horses mouth. and dont say that your horse wont respond. i took a hard mouthed paint mare that would blow through the bit all the time and used a hackamore on her and she did perfectly the horses like it.
armyxappyxgal 2 years ago
Actually (mechanical) hackamores w/ curb chains, can break horse's jaws when too much pressure is used on the reins. Any other type of bitless bridle, if it is placed too low, can break nose bones or affect breathing. So a hackamore is not always better. Teaching your horse how to respond lightly and properly to pressure even when excited is the best prevention to having to strain a horses mouth. If you are having to yank, your horse needs work.

All i have to say is i never want to run in that arena. talk about bad luck there lol

1:48 was pretty funny lol
and I know what its like i barrel race
smile1045 2 years ago
hahahahaha 1:18 her fault
smile1045 2 years ago
Been there done that. Except my horse always stops and waits for me and then one time I fell off because the saddle slipped and he ran back over to me and licked me! It was weird. It sucks falling off, but every rider does it. Most of the time when the horse falls like that it stands back up and keeps going but the rider was all in a weird position. Lol. Poor riders. But, that's the part that comes with barrels.
horsecrazy11 2 years ago 2
one of the scariest feelings is when your starting to fall off , but then again thats what makes it so fun u gotta have a lil bit of excitement (: it gets you excited lol
horseygal2033 2 years ago
most of what i saw was the fault of the rider.. leaning the wrong way.. some of them were.. idk what they were thinking lol ex 1:32 however.. id like to turn a pattern on the one at 2:30 i bet he'd burn um down
aliciaj28 2 years ago 2
Yeah I agree most of these clips are rider error.
