Soul Reflect works really well against Ryuheads. Pulling them off easy when you are at least 3/4 screen away. Any closer and it's useless unless in a combo.

Ryu does not require much skill to play? Maybe. But there is a ton of strategy needed behind the character, especially if you want to win. There's definitely a difference between knowing how to do a move and knowing when to use a move.

I really don't think capcom gave their new characters a chance in SF4. All they really did was keep the old characters the way they were, without even really playtesting the new characters.

The new characters are quite a bit more interesting than the old shotos, but unfortunately weren't even given a fighting chance out of the gate.

Balance issues capcom, just some slight tweaks and the game becomes infinitely better.

Well Saqs had a good block string and throw wake up game going. As for Ryu his Dragon Punch can put a dent in your victory parade. As for Calipowers performance (if it is him) Online is iffy. IT's very different than playing locally offline. I played a pro match online and offline, the difference is there because your in full control.

I know, but still. With the skill gap between Alex Valle and Saqs, even online shouldn't be a problem for Alex. Even if 50% of Alex' skills were removed, i still think it should be enough to beat Saqs. Saqs is good don't get me wrong, but compared to some other youtube SF4 players like TKK, Saqs is even below that. Then look at when TKK tried against FloE a progamer who was just messing around with random characters, still it was 5-0 without TKK taking a single round.

You can tell this is when Valle first picked up Ryu, his execution is off and managed to mash DP for the win both rounds. Still, Valle is a legend and his Ryu is much better today.

I don't know if you could call it a choke PhatSaqs - look how hard Ryu hits you in round 2 - a few connects and you're nearly half life.

On the other hand it takes you a lot more than that to bring him down.

It's just a case of Ryu (aka mini sagat) being such an amazing character and the advantage paying out.

Alex got whipped in round 1 by adapted much better in the next few rounds. Still, Alex doesn't seem to have the skill set of Daigo and other top Japanese players in SF4, and doesn't anticipate moves as well. Also, I belive his best best character in SF4 is Bison, who isn't really top tier and whom great players who use Ryu, Sagat, and Dhalsim have an advantage over.
