  • If you´re insured, never do any kind of skiing or any other dangerous sports at all...

other wise the bill will be really biiiggg!!

  • @MrsVegascrush Thanks for your comment. She can never so any of that again. That accident cripples her till this day.

  • "Pre-existing" is the only thing in that entire bill that is worth anything. They could have passed a real bill with a few things like that, but instead we get forced to pay the insurance corporations for "health care reform". This is another example of people repeating linguistic programing, provided by the 6 Olicorps that own all MSM today. Not so many yrs ago, it was over 200 corps.

We the People didn't get "Canadian health care". I talk to Canadians that come here for health care, constantly

  • @IronRangeSurvival I agree that what we really need is Universal Health Care

  • I wish you all the best though and can understand your frustration.

  • Comment removed

  • I lived in Eastern Europe as a child, my parents were both doctors there and we lived under socialized health care for a very long time. What happens with socialized medicine is that hospitals cant afford medical machinery, computers and most modern medicines. Plus hospital bed count greatly decreases. Eventually, people will have amputations due to lack of funding for surgeries on limbs, elderly will be discarded and all your chances of immediate care will go out the window.

  • Is she okay?

  • @Silvervest No not really at all. In order for her to get the operations that she needs she's going to have to wait for the pre-existing to kick in.

    Thanks so much for asking

  • @Fringe111 Darn, when is this? And also has her condition improved since?

  • Do people know that Canada spends half a billion dollars a year from U.S. citizens seeking medical services illegally because they can't get or afford health care coverage in the U.S. ? Don't just hope and pray for reform people .Get up and fight for it . It will affect 98% of you in one way or another when you least expect it .

  • Let me tell you something, we fleetingly thought of moving to Canada lol. Thanks for watching this vid my friend

  • And this is the inherent problem with the private health care system .If your daughter could have been treated earlier, it would have made her life better and saved money . Now because of pre-existing conditions her situation has gotten worse . Cont.

  • Of course, in a free market (which the US system isn't), you probably could have just paid straight up, as you mentioned; that could have been the end of it there and then.

  • any healthcare based on making a profit will fail people with pre-existing problems thats why I think single payer universal healthcare is the way to go .

and all this its socialism nonsense well yup so is a police force or fire brigade and over here conservatives are in favour of the national health service .

Im british by the way good luck to your daughter

  • Thank you. Sometimes I feel like moving my whole family to England. You guys have it right. Take care of your people. Healthcare is not banking. It's the moral and right thing to do. Thank you again

  • @Fringe111 Healthcare in the UK is a nightmare. I lived in Sheffield for 4 years while studying at Sheffield-Hallam University in the mid-90s.

  • @helix1776dragon Yeah but it has to be better then what we have.

  • @Fringe111 "Better than what we have". Really? You don't have a clue. I had a 6 figure spinal surgery that didn't cost more than the family insurance plan that was 138 a month.

IF you are financially eligible, the state provides M.A. I don't see any restrictions in service with that either.

Of course there are people lost in the gap. Too bad they can't afford the insurance, because they are now required to PAY THE INSURANCE CORP or GET A FINE= with our new "health care reform".

  • @helix1776dragon "Universal Health Care", in the 63 Iron Mountain Report. IF you actually read it, you would understand why I think the title of the think tank report should have been, "War and Peace for profits and control".

Those same frauds that brought you the POS "health care reform", don't think you should be able to sue a doctor for negligence. Sure you will ignore that fact too.

"She" can sustain a job, but she's a "cripple"? "You don't care what form it takes"?? Talking point-=IDIOT

  • Health care rules big times, no papers no nothing, just care :)

The US needs to get it right.

  • I'm praying big time but I'm not so sure it's going to happen the way we want it to

  • FYI... Sakahowdah is one of Jim's sock accounts...

  • It figures, He's being blocked

  • you only like the idea of universal medical because it's good for you. you never considered the effect on other people, the government, or the economy. you think our economy is bad now? you think health care is bad now? you think taxes are bad now? wait till they start universal health care. and the people who can afford health care now won't be able to because of taxes.

  • Tell me something. How much do you pay for your insurance? How much do you pay in premiums!!!! Do you think it's fair for a person who CAN be helped not to be? They then become a burden on society which you then pay for. Wouldn't you rather see that person be helped so they can live a productive life and not go into the system which you pay for????

  • what good is universal medical if we don't have a country?

  • Joy- health insurance is way too high. Obama is talking of providing for everbody. Not to bash you, but personally you should have let the Doctors in NYC see her---instead of flying her home.... JUST my opinion

  • You don't get what I'm saying. If you saw my whole vid you would have heard that she did have that surgery and it was successful. The bone graft failed when she became pregnant. They wouldn't do a corrective surgery on her because it was considered a pre-existing condition. Understand now??????

  • good case thmsvrgs

  • In 1913, just before the PRIVATELY OWNED Federal Reserve Bank was passed into law, four cents could purchase what A DOLLAR gets you now.

That's why we have so many money problems.

The FED turned a dollar into four cents.

    96% reduction in value.

  • it's called inflation.

  • What IS inflation? What CAUSES inflation?

    Fractional reserve banking, perhaps?

Greedy PRIVATE BANKERS in control of our currency system?

  • increases in population and tecnology cause inflation. the more people there are the more money is needed to keep a currency system going. the more money you make the less it is worth. what would the monalisa be worth if there were billions of that painting out there? not much.

  • In 1754 the American Colonies used a fiat currency called Colonial Scrip.

It was not backed by silver or gold; simply

accepted as money. It worked. The Colonies

were prosperous until the European bankers saw the danger and ordered the British Empire to outlaw it and force the silver and gold standard on our forefathers.

Depression set in. Franklin's memoirs record that as the prime cause for the revolution.

So, what is money and what REALLY causes inflation?

  • whatever if you don't want to see the ocean stay in your little boat

  • If you take the time to research the Federal Reserve, the history of money in general and the history of the Rothschilds in particular you'd realize that you are the one one can't see the ocean for the waves.

You simply don't understand how our monetary system works.

  • we're talking about comerce not monetay systems. you're confused old man

  • Modern commerce does not happen without monetary systems.

When you resort to name calling you're showing your ignorance and forfeiting the argument.

Educate yourself before you try to discuss something, son.

  • i've always called you old man. there was no name calling. when i'm name calling i'll be calling you dirty old man or pervy old man or something like that. and i never said commerce happened without monetary systems. and while monetary systems factor into commerce , they don't factor into inflation. and you're over analysing.this isn't a fight

  • You know your history.

  • and bankes have no idea how the economy works.like fish trying to understand the ocean. international commerce also effects the value of our money . say we interact with a poor counrty. by buying their prducts we are making our own country poorer. you have to think of the economy as a water system. it flows from areas of high perssure to low pressure. and opening trade is like opening a dam.

  • Bankers know exactly how the economy works.

They play it like a 'fixed' roulette game.

    Private bankers own the FED.

  • Joy, if your daughter was so badly injured she

should have been rushed by helicopter from the slopes to a top NYC hospital.

    She also needed IMMEDIATE surgery.

In a case like this it's dangerous and irrational to transport her 800+ miles in critical condition.

With the bone broken in half, embolism was imminent.

Why would they put her on a plane?

    HOW could they?

Was she SITTING?? With that huge cast?

It's madness. They should have been reported to the AMA

    This does not sound plausible.

  • Tom-

i guess that was the SUPPOSED idea. Maybe the doctor SHE knows best is like the best doctor in the country ?? :)

  • or it could be she is just extremely self centered and wants everything her way.

  • Omgosh I hope your Daughter is okay and healed by now my prayers are with you. I was mis daignosed for 5 years with panic attacks when actaully they just did a E.K.G and found out I have a serious heart condition. I know how this can happen.

    Best Wishes

    Kalena

  • Well she's still suffering, she needs that operation but maybe Obama will change that pre-existing law. As for you I too have have panic disorder, but I'm so happy you were diagnosed properly. All the best to you

  • I hope you Daughter isnt too bad. Thats a sad storey about what has happened. i can understand what you are saying. Its different over here in the UK, altho i wouldn't say better!!! But anyway just wanted to snd you & you daughtert all the best, and hope she doesn't get any worse. Also happy birthday for Dec 20th LOL

  • You remembered my birthday? How cool and thank you. I went to subscribe to you but I think you're someone else. But thank you for this message. She's still dealing with this pain and it's getting worse. Not one agncy will help her. Maybe Obame will get rid of the Pr-existing law and she can have that surgery.

  • I work in the health care field and I know first hand patients are treated according to health insurance. The better the coverage the better the treatment. FACT.

Not only should there be universal health care but the SAME coverage for all. Everyone has the right to the same attention and care.

  • That's why I did this vid. To point that out. People are suffering for no good reason. Thanks Lisa. It's good to see you again.

  • Hey Joy please just ignore that asshole he is just a pathetic little man

  • Thank you. I sent that to you in case you knew who it was. I'd never seen him before. You're right, he is pathetic

  • oh, one more thing..i think it was uncalled for -- what riley said to you..gosh, all your doing here is telling people about your daughter's condition! people can be idiots here. I hope he gets banned again! enough said -- he may read this and the ax will fall on me!

  • morgan, i'm deeply afraid of jim riley. i'm waiting for him to rip through my videos again..and try to make a fool of me! --john

  • He did it to you too???? I'm not afraid of him at all. I pity him

  • That is why we need Obama.

    Good luck to you.

  • Thank you so much

  • Riley is an a** for saying that to you.

I hope everything works out for the best.

    Morgan

  • Wow you guys are mean!

No matter whos fault is for her leg the issue is that no one will help her because these conditions...

... I think Universal Health Care if very possible for America...just look at the universal care we pay for our soliders and there families, what makes there children more imporant than ours?

  • Thank you, I removed the other comments. What jerks

  • Good vlog. Sad stuff.

  • Hi victor, I guess you saw that video by that jerk

  • No idea what you are talking about.

  • dont worry about him, he's a tool

  • Thank you

  • The greatest con in the 21nd century is having people actually protest against things that would help them. So many people were anti healthcare, anti taxes for the rich. Its sickening to see how badly people have been brainwashed. Its also amazing how many people say overseas healthcare is horrible without being overseas. Government run healthcare is THE solution, people crap on about it costing the government money.. insurance companies make billions out of healthcare why cant the government?

  • Awesome comment, thank you

  • I say if Congress is entitled to the Congressional plan, then every American is also entitled to same plan. I'm so sorry this happened to your daughter - maybe my story about negligent health care resulting in the death of my step-daughter would be one more reason we should absolutely believe every American is entitled to quality, affordable health care. The elitists have theirs and spend millions of dollars brainwashing the rest of us to believe we are NOT deserving.

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your step-daughter. I wish you would do a video about it so that people can understand what's at stake. To me is criminal to deny our citizens nothing but the best, after all we do have the best doctors. All the other western countries have a plan, why can't we

    Thanks for your comment

  • I know exactly why - insurance companies, their CEOs and GREED! I really don't want anyone to profit off my misery and health care needs.

  • I know it disgusts me. I agree with you completely. These companies look at us as prfit and losses and nothing more. It's sickening

  • I am trying to do that young lady. :)

I want to expose the issue you faced, the problems not really gone into in SICKO, and bring it all together... I am not talking a million people being affected, I mean hundreds of millions over time. As of 2006 the US had over 40 million disabled people age 5 to 75... That was only the people who reported being disabled.

It will take a few people to collaberate with to make this work I am afraid.

  • I know what your talking about and if you do a colab vid count me in. Don't be affraid to speak up if it will help to get something done

  • I just bought a new animation software that I waill see if I can start a little something to get my ideas out of my head... LOL Dang this ADHD... Come back here thoughts stop floating all over... WHOOPS I think my Dr warned me about this happening... O,o MEDS.. I need meds... (talks to self) No you don't FOOL shush and make that movie... :p

  • My daughter has ADHD also, she is now taking adorol and it helps her focus

  • I take Stratarra for mine. If I was not in this pain I am in it works wonders. I am not nearly as messed up as I was before though. Glad to hear she has it under control. :) I spent 35 years wondering what was wrong with me... O,o Until 3 years ago. I had to relearn what it means to be me. Kinda wierd, but really cool also.

  • I would love to see the outcome of it.

  • I agree with you. Well if I can get my story out, it will equal or rival SICKO in terms of the vast size and scope of the issue.

    Sorry to hear about this.

  • Oh please do tell your story. People have to know how badly people are suffering.

Thank you so much for your comment.

  • Universal Healthcare coverage must be extended to all citizens. More and more Americans see a direct connection between reforming health care and economic improvement. Americans say "making health care more affordable" should be the top priority for improving the current economic situation for average Americans."

The HMOs should never dictate how medicine should be dispensed - NEVER! They truly put profit over the people! Hopefully your daughter will get better Joy.

  • Oh thank you Skedboard. Also fixing the healthcare system will also help our failing economy. More people will be able to go back to work instead of being a drain on society. It's like a domino effect. We must have Universal Helath care. Thank you my friend

  • Why is it that Sweden, Germany and Canada can provide health care for it's people and America can't? I'm truly sorry to hear about this terrible situation! This does need to be changed!

  • Yep that's my question also. We can do it, but we as a people are terrified of any social program and the funny thing is we already have scocial programs. The police Depatment, firefighters, the DMV, Libraries,

Medicare and Medicaid plus much more. It's time to take care of our own

    Thanks for that comment.

  • The only problem with universal healthcare, at least as it exist in Europe, is the difficulty in seeing a specialist. Often times you are placed on a waiting list to be treated. With your daughter's health condition, not to chastise, but why not pay for insurance instead of pain meds for her. I put my mother on my Blue Cross, mind you she needs a hip replacement and has an old back fracture, b/c it was cheaper than the pain meds. I think we need affordable insurance in the US more than anything.

  • pt2..my other concern is your grandson, if your daughter doesn't have health insurance than neither does he. What if he gets hit by a car running into the street as kids do, how will he be taken care of. I mean I have a severe back injury, like my mom, I broke my back and I don't work anywhere that doesn't provide health insurance. It's not just big businesses, it's also having sound judgement and being responsible. Universal healthcare is not a cure all. The working class can't foot the bill.

  • Luckily my grandson has Kid Care so he's fully insured. When you say footing the bill, that makes it sound like people are asking for charity. Watch my vid again and you'll see that insurance premiuns are now far out of reach for the middle class. You pay into SSI, that's a social program right there. I don't know what form it would take but we desparetly need a health care system for people like my daughter.

  • I am middle class, an I eat the bulk of the taxes with SSI that I will never see, and I am at 30% in taxes annually. For a universal healthcare, the wealthy will not be paying the bulk of the cost. So I am not saying you are asking for a handout I am saying people are barely getting ahead as it is and more taxing is not going to help. Therefore it will be difficult for something like this to be passed. I think that there should be affordable insurance at a low cost for the lower middle class.

  • It's great that you where able to do that with your mom. But Jennifer cannot afford ins. just like so many of us. Also she has a pre-existing condition and they won't touch her. Ironically if she had this operation on her leg she's be a productive citizen who could contribute so much. We need a health care program badly

  • I have a pre-existing condition as well as my mother. I don't know what state you are in but in California I was able to place my mother on a blue cross blue shield health plan. Unfortunately, I can't wait for the government to provide health insurance for myself and my family. I have to work at a place that provides health insurance that will cover my pre-existing condition. Universal healthcare is not a cure all.

  • I know of people in the UK that are placed on waiting list when they have colon cancer. When it comes to seeing a specialist, it is very difficult to have that matter addressed or to be treated with life saving medications simply because of the cost. I am not questioning your daughters ability to contribute to society, I am simply saying that health insurance is a basic need like food and water. But it is something that we will have to pay for ourselves, individually. Unfortunate but true.

  • I know your not putting my daughters situation down. As far as wait time? We already have it. If my daughter had to be on a wait list to get her operation, then at least she get's it. The point is this. I would rather pay $50.00 out of my pocket then have to pay hundreds in premiums, co-pays plus other costs that most people can no longer afford.

If Jennifer can't be treated then she'll become a drain on society since soon she won't be able to work. Then you pay for her for welfare. Truth

  • The truth is welfare doesn't affect me because I have been paying for it already. When I say wait time to see a specialist, that does not mean she will be cleared for the operation. Hospitals are turning people away and closing their doors but too many people are seeking treatment without health insurance. If it is not a life threatening ailment and you do not have health insurance doctors will not treat you.

  • I make sure that I have the maximum amount of health insurance, I don't have co-pays, or any out-of-pocket costs. Universal healthcare is not going to insure that you pay $50 after the surgery. You have to pay for the pain medication, that could be thousands of dollars, depending on the amount of time you have to take it. The type of surgery that your daughter needs would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars if it requires a hospital stay, which it will.

  • I say all this Fringe111, not to be mean and heartless but to tell you the truth. I have worked for the largest hospital provider and insurance provider in Cali, and I currently work for the largest Pharma company in the world. This is a David and Goliath situation, and big businesses will protect their bottom line at every cost. There just aren't the tax dollar out there for something like this, every account has been milked for the war, especially SSI.

  • Oh I agree with you there. So all this at the expense of our citizens? Nice. Things cannot stay the way they are now. To many people are suffering and that leads to a drop in our economy. It's a domino effect.

  • So it's the money that you're talking about. Yep her operation will cost thousands however she will then go one to have a productive life instead of going on welfare that already costs you plenty. No, people cannot be diminished in that way. It's not the American way and never has been

  • America is changing, gulf war veterans are being removed from US aid if they are not in active duty. So veterans that were injured in the war, because of this discharged must provide themselves with their own ins. The government will not provide this for them because they are no longer in active duty. Can you imagine risking your life for this country, and being permanently injured so that you can't work, and being denied aide to treat your illness you got from the war.

  • The problem with welfare is that the gov't is slowly trying to get rid of it. I'm sure you remember when people used to be on welfare for generations. Well now, you can only be on it for about two years and then they place you in a work program or a school program. You can get WIC until your child is about 5 but by that time you must be working full time or have completed your education. The bottom line is welfare is no longer cost effective and will be phased out.

  • The bottom line here is that there are thousands of people in my daughters situation and she can't find a solution. So What, she's going to be a stain on society because they won't give her the operation she needs to get well? To me that's disgusting. Again please watch that vid up above by tenneral. I'm really interested to see what you think about it. I'm enjoying this conversation

  • I know about this and to me it's disgusting. Our soldiers are heros no matter how much one feels about the war itself. To bring a vet home and then just drop him off and say see ya, is imoral. These men put their lives on the line for us everyday and then come home and struggle. To me that's a crime

  • I really enjoy our debate. My uncle is a veteran of the gulf war, he also got sick from the war, though he has his PhD he can't work b/c of his injuries. My aunt has ms, her husband had to take another job b/c his ins dropped her b/c her ms medicine was too expensive. She needs that medication to live. The reason I say this is b/c we are all going through this and I just want something that's gonna stick. Not something that is full of hype, give people real healthcare that works.

  • That's tough to hear. that's why we have to stop talking about it and demamding. Something has to be put in place soon

  • We have to get out there and vote, participate in the system. We can't just complain about things. Elect people into offices that really intend to fix the problems. But most importantly to not get discouraged if things don't happen over night and look for other oppurtunities. Like relocating to some place that has more affordable living, alot of people are starting to move about the country simple for a better quality of life.

  • That's why we need a health care program. It's barbaric in this powerful country to allow this to happen

  • I was speaking to a friend of mine that lived in the UK he was telling me that their Universal healthcare system is a mirror image of what we have in the US. That you can see a dr for something acute but you have to pay out of pocket for specialty. So my aunt has MS her meds cost about $50K annually. One US ins dropped her b/c of the cost, in the UK, b/c meds like that are so expensive, you have to pay out of pocket.

  • OK please do me a favor a watch the above video by tenneral. Start it at 1.45. He's English and who better to explain their health care systen but this man. Please watch it and then tell me what you think

  • Actually I saw tenneral's video and subscribed to him. A lot of the people I work with are from the UK and are doctors. They came to the US because our healthcare system which allows them to see specialists, these are for treatment of diseases like cancer, ms, etc. When you have cancer you need to see a dr right away b/c the clock is ticking. The healthcare system in the UK can not afford to pay for expensive meds that treat cancer and ms, so the citizens have to pay out of pocket.

  • I'm not so sure about that. Yanno we do have the very best care here, but most people today just can't afford if so what good is it.

  • in tenneral's video he even states that he had to pay for his own meds after the surgery. But like I said, the folks I work with from the UK are doctors, so they make six figures so they can afford our health ins. The US is still about have and have nots, living here is great if you are apart of the elite class, living here is very difficult if you are just above the poverty line. You just end up being stuck between a rock and a hard place.

  • Then you're in the same boat as I'm in. Let me tell you something. Things were NEVER this bad. The ins. companies are the ones who determine who gets care or not. There's something fundamentally wrong with that. Big bussines has no right to determine who gets care and who doesn't.

  • Honestly, I work for a big business, and I am with a pharmaceutical company. It's not just the hospital cost ins companies don't want to pay for it is the pharmaceutical cost as well. There is also a multitude of reasons why things weren't as expensive in the past as they are now. Times have changed and not neccessarily for the better. There also weren't people like Bill Gates 30-40 years ago either. Nowadays everybody wants to be a billionaire, everybody wants to get ahead.

  • Bill Gates? Now I don't get that. There was always people who did well so that makes no sense to me

  • Like you said, the domino effect, well people like Bill Gates making extreme amounts of money affect the economy and the value of the american dollar. The US dollar is worth alot less than it use to be the Euro is greater now.

  • But Bill Gates and his like has nothing to do with that. Our dollar is plunging in most part due to the subprime mortgages that were given to anyone, plus alot more

  • It has a lot to do with people like Bill Gates who earn a massive amounts of money that they will never spend in their lifetime. You remember when Bill Gates was in trouble for monopolizing the market with Windows. Spending money boost the economy. Subprime morgages are one part of it predatory loans in the form of credit cards are another. Don't let the Gates foundation fool you that guy raided the US market for personal gain.

  • Yea but there has always been corporate raiders. That has nothing to do with this economy we're living in now. I remember when the gov't went after him and they were right to do so. But you can't fault a guy who came up with a concept and became one of the riches men in the world. I believe we all would love that to happen yo us

  • Come on, have you forgotten about Enron. I mean more companies are fixing their books, putting out cheap quality products, shipping jobs overseas to save a buck. There has been an 5% increase in new billionaires, folks from Dubai investing in the US stock market. That type of wealth that is not highly taxed effects the economy in big ways, the elite class gets smaller and the poorer class increases just by changing the rich from being millionaire to needing to be billionaires.

  • Of course what your saying is true and it scares the hell out of me.

  • Vote Democrat and/or have her visit Social Security and sign up for SSI/SSDI. Im on SSI because of a mental disability. I have medicaid which comes along with SSI. So far the government is doing a good job managing my health care. I only make a co-payment of 3 dollars when seeing a general doctor, 50 cents for medication, and paid absolutely nothing for a recent eye exam. Government managed health care is not as bad people make it out to be.

  • They won't give her SSI because her husband makes to much money. We've gone to all agencies. But the point is if she has the operation to fix the bone in her leg she'll be able to live without any help and be a productive citizen. That's the real solution for her

Thank you so much for commenting

  • I compleately Agree with you. something like that happened to my aunt and uncle my cusion was 7 months old and was dignosed with SMA (spinal muscular atrophy)and he was only give a month to live. its been about 3 years now and my aunt and uncle got a bill from the hostptial for 125,0000 i have no idea how they are gonna pay that. So KUDOS for this video!!

  • Oh geez that's aweful. Yanno there a alot of people on You Tube who don't want Universal Health Care. Then they see this vid. Bringing it down to the personal stories made some of them think. Most of them didn't Geez how can we allow our people suffers like this?

I'm so happy you saw this. Thank you

  • its really video! good thanks for getting it out there!!! I wish you're daughter the best on getting better as well.

  • You are just about the best vlogger on YouTube. I completely agree with your opinion on universal health care. I guess you have to be below the poverty line (which I am) or uninsured to understand the need for universal health care. People who are above the poverty line and/or are insured just don't understand. Unfortunately, the people who run this country are way above the poverty line, almost overly so. It's ridiculous...

I'm very sorry about your daughter.

  • I really appreciate all you said. Yanno, if more people made a personal vid as I did, people would see how important this is. More the 50 million people in this country have not insurance. That's never happened before. The hardest thing to accept is she CAN be fixed by having an operation. Or she goes on welfare. She could go onto having a productove life. This is just inhuman.

  • The fact that we cant get health care for every Amercian is deplorable. I am a 21 year old diabetic and I am being forced to pay full price for the things that keep me alive.Thank you so much for having the courage to share this story. Best of luck to you and your daughter. you are in my prayers. Sorry for such a long comment.

  • You'll be in my prayers also. If you have a camera, tell your story. I found that when you personalize it people listen. Number and theories can be debated from now till the end of time. But tell a personal story makes the

    problem real

  • I truly appreciate your concern. I too come from NY. We've been to every foundation, charity and program there is. Just by getting rid of the pre-exixting law would help her and so many others.

    You're very kind. Thank you

Our country never used to be this way.

  • This country is capable of doing anything if the people scream loud enough. One trillion dollars goes to the Iraq war per week, so I'm sure this country can afford some kind of Universal Helath care

    Thank you for your comment

  • You heard her story, something has to be done. There are millions of people just like her.

  • I'm going to feature this video to help get more attention on how screwed up our health care system is. Sadly, many of us can relate to your story with personal experience.

I sincerely hope your daughter's situation improves.

  • Oh thank you so much, I wish mor people would tell their personal stories instead of arguing the ecomics of it. Thank you

  • Thanks for sharing the story. I absolutely can relate. Something does have to be done. I just wish we would stop talking and start doing. =\

  • I'm ready to do. In a heartbeat, I'll take to the streets the way they did in the 60's instead of sitting here behind a computer screen

  • You already are doing something, by being part of the increasing group of vlogging uninsured that is tired of this crap. It's more than preaching to the streets. The internet IS the next generation. We just need to find a leader to help lead us to congress or something.

  • hi,

i saw this video on your daughter. i feel so badly. if she truly is disabled, perhaps she can qualify for medicair. [however, each state/criteria/length are different]. my hopes and prayers are w/ ya'll. hope ya'll have a happy holiday,

    keep hope alive,

    mike

  • Thank you Mike. If and only if she got medicare it would be connected to SSI which means her check would be maybe $500 plus she wouldn't be allowed to work. She's trapped and she CAN be helped. Oh the irony of it all

    Thank you so much

  • AMEN!! thats all I can say I hope all gets better SOON :)

  • Thanks Joe

  • my famly jus go 2 da free clinik we get all our stuff fo free there you an yo daughta should do dat

  • She needs an operation to heal her. I don't think the free clinic does that

  • You are not alone, many people suffer, but it does not mean you deserve to reach your hand into the public coffers to solve your problems. The gov't is there for infrastructure and social stability not to redistribute wealth.

  • Yanno it never used to be this way. Insurance used to be affordable to everyone. You say she should'nt reach into public coffers? OK, if she's not operated on which will fix her she'll end up in a wheel chair and will have to go on welfare. That's a public coffer right there and it's not an option. Universal Health care is something our country must have or there will be people like her who will have to go that route. I don't think you'd like that at all. So what's the answer

  • I am against welfare also, God provides, we don't have it as bad in America as liberals will tell you, noone starves in America unless they are outright mentally disabled AND homeless. We didn't always have these great health care advancements, we can do SO MUCH now but it ain't free so if you want to reap the rewards of hundreds of years of advancements, guess what, you gotta pay for it.

  • Guess what, I'm not looking for a handout. If you really saw this video you can see she's in bad shape. Our country never treated our citizens like this in the past. This is something new. So you tell me the answer.

I hate taxes, but this is one tax I would gladly pay, for my daughter and the millions of people who need it.

  • What are you talking about in the past? In the past our health care was non-existent, they prescribed alcohol and cocaine as prescription drugs. And regardless of the shape she is in (sorry to hear by the way) if you want to reap the reward of hundreds of years of advancements it is going to cost money.

  • Wow your going way back. Look before Nixon healthcare was afordable to everyone. Insurance companies didn't run our gov't plus they never put any restrictions on any type of medical care. That's all changed now. The pre-exixting law alone counts my daughter out. That to me is inhumane. Big bussiness has no bussines in dictating a persons health.

Of course healthcare existed, but not to the detriment of peoples lives

  • It is unfortunate that people lose their homes due to health care issues but that is a descion that is made by the individual, you see, we are a country of choice. Keep in mind that the majority of Americans will NEVER own a home so people fortunate to own for any period of time should cherish that gift and they should cherish the fact that they can trade a material item like a home for the life of a loved one, in third world countries this is not even an option available.

  • You may feel like you are not blessed in any way to be an American, you need only look at the conditions others endure across the world.

  • I just saw how old you are and I'm not putting you down at all, but you have to do some homework about what the American Dream really is and what's come before all this craziness happened.

  • I am not a kid, I am old enough to have served four years in the military ma'am, the American dream is owning a home but it is irresponsible to buy a home before buying health insurance, if you cannot afford both then I would go with the health of my family and rent, go ahead though your older than me so fight with all of your might to dip your hand in the public coffers so that you can have BOTH, sounds selfish to me but good luck.

  • In the Military? Then I bow my hat to you. You are truly a hero. I've always lived a good life but truly you're not old enough to remember when this country was great. I don't want a free handout, I hate taxes but if it meant paying a tax for universal health care I'd gladly pay it. No one should die because of big bussiness.

  • People have died from disease BEFORE big business was here so don't play that card, you should be thankful that you live in a capitalist society where people come up with these insane advancements that you can buy if you are willing to make that financial sacrifice, not all countries have this. You are not talking about imposing a tax on yourself for you to agree too, you are talking about imposing more taxes on EVERY American to meet your personal dream. Again, I am sorry for your situation.

  • I'm thankful that I have a voice in stating that this gov't has sold out to big bussiness. I'm thankful that I and others can make changes and I'm thankful that if we see this country slipping into something it never was that we can protest it.

  • I have no ill will towards you, if you feel strongly about this from your point of view then I am glad that you are expressing it, the problem in America isn't that people are one way or the other, the problem is people that don't speak up period.

  • Yep that's a big one. Thank you

  • You're a kid. Wait until it comes home to you, as you get older, you become more uninsurable because you naturally develop health problems. When it's your turn to be denied benefits, and you loose your home, then you'll be singing a totally different tune amigo.

  • My comment was for 'TruthTaste', shill for Big Pharma and the AMA. UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE NOW!

  • Hey Fringe! Have you checked into getting your daughter to be declared disabled? I ask this because if she is in that much pain and is almost in a wheelchair. She could be due some bennefits already availible!

  • Yep we did, the problem with that is she won't be allowed to work and her check won't even cover her rent. You just can't win. If they at least got rid of the pre-existing law

she could be fixed and then go onto a productive life

    Thanks Tom

  • Oh my word. I have Degenerative Disc Disease, and I know how painful that is alone. When you add the other things you mention, I just can't imagine. And that the doctors wouldn't operate on your daughter is simply an outrage! Yes, there must be a change with health care coverage in this nation. Best Wishes!

  • Oh thank you so much. I did this vid to point out the human face of this aweful dilemma we find ourselfes in. The sad thing is she CAN be helped but the kicker is that because of the pre-existing laws she'll end up in a wheel chair and then become a drain on society through welfare. That's just sad

  • I fully understand, as I too lack the necessary insurance to cover spinal decompression. As far as a wheelchair, there but for the grace of God go I. My prayers are with your family.

  • Oh Thank you so much. What makes me so mad is she can be fixed and go onto a productive life. But the way the laws are written now she's in trouble. If they just got rif of the pre-existing law she could be helped.

My prayers ar with you also

  • Consider This. It Cost (between my employer and me) 708 dollars a month to ensure me (23) and my wife(21)

Hasn't it gotten a it out of hand when it cost that much to ensure two people under 25?

  • Of course it has. Big business has not right to dictate to you what proceedures you need instead of your own doctor. Now they got rid of pre-existing. That leaves my daughter a cripple when she can be fixed and she's young.
