@sharingan how old are you? because if you are not an adult or older teen choir, then it is translated so kid don't sing something that is can be misinterpreated as a message that god is good yet cruel. who wants kids to sing that? but, sadly, your translation is wrong, as i know Italian somehwhat and half of yours is wrong, while most of Markinsky's is correct. Sorry to burst your bubble :P
@McCRAAAZY I just read both of them and they are the same and it does not say god its cupid is what mine read and yes the gods were cruel when they wanted and also good if you know any greek mythology and I am not a little kid I'm almost 18 and if you know Italian you would know that there are many different translations for 1 word most languages aren't as specific as the english language so sorry to burst your bubble
@sharingan1903 i haz no bubble to burst as i never hide myself from the world :D and by 'god' i meant whatever the listener calls god, be it one, or many. and yes forgive me for that trashy comment of mine 3 months ago. i do realize there are multiple translations for one word in Italian. sadly, only now did I see the right translations :3 anyways, now that that's over with... who wants pie?
My sheet music says the same thing but it also says that it's been fitted to fit the notes, so it's not really what it is saying...it's fixed. I'm singing this song as a solo and I love it! I have to know what it's about to get a good score, they have tos ee that I'm really into it...or something like that.
thats not the translation i got it is close but my choir sheet music translates it to this How void of compassion is cupid his fashion who drives me by torment himself to adore/ And yet in my ar dor i follow the harder tje vision elusive he shadows before/ o destiny senseless a boy so defenseless scarce wean'd yet can make his favor implore/ a tyrannous mentor, our eyes he doth enter with barbarous wiles till we sigh and give o'er. I love this song, I love the my part withc is the tenors
why is it you can find a million recordings of like every other aria an italian song, but this one is so hard to find..... infuriating

The point is. How do you like this great voice and his elegant and witty performance? I heard him live and he was one of the greats.
