what the fuck was that guy talking about...at the end "when i made the conscious choice NOT to watch my mother fade away"...that sounds like he abandoned her in a home and never visited. i hope that's not what it means...but if it is...what a fucking asshole...he should not have been picked just for that reason.
@dafttone I don't think we're in a position to judge. Personally, I wouldn't survive very long at a funeral. Something as powerful as death can bring a mix of emotions we don't want but can't help feeling.
I remember contributing to this. Such a beautiful piece of art. This is truly, truly beautiful. The idea behind this, and contributing movement to a piece -- outstanding. You're such an inspiration to me, and all artists.
This is insane! I sort of forgot you were doing this project, so when I started the video I was like "This is going to be awesome, he's been working on it for a good while." But this kinda blew me away.
The illusion of movement there is genius and totally amazing.
Phil Hansen is going to be remembered as one of this era's great artists. =]
@8BitPerception Actually I decide to post this before I realized it was way too late. I was quick to comment, because the begining hearing the stories gave me chills, and had me motivated to tell one of my tragic experiences, and end up as an art piece.. Guess I was a little to late lol
Woa phil. you did something big here. Though the galloping horse seemed a little disconnected from the types of recurring "memories" that you were reading, this should hit home with a bang. Congrats. it's got a powerful backing to it that lends well to your artistic talents and motives. I hope it gets the press it needs so that you can get onto the next great project.
I can appreciate this piece from a technical standpoint, but I don't really understand the artist's fascination with recording traumatic experiences in his art.
awesome, i love it *-*
