Amy. Well performed very nice. What school are you with? I'm at Lavallee's which uses a variation on the kempo kata. We are just learning long two and ours is similar but different. Is your school traditional kenpo? Is that the more traditional version of long two? john wwww.bbat50.com
What's wrong with your manners? They must be hiding in your back pocket. If you're referring to the kick in the beginning, it's a lifting shin kick. Some people also do snap kicks and some do side thrust kicks.
I liked your first posting of this form better. This looked to much like a "hard' style form. The forms should develop a softer edge to them. I do not understand why you would want to add a "hardstyle" element to it.
Thanks. Kind of you to say. I really need to re-do these because I have taken these comments to heart and have learned some more solid ways of moving (at least I hope so).
Of course, I keep saying that .... that I need to re-do them. lol
Hmm. My first comment didn't post. I'll re-do. I prefer my katas crisp. I don't like them to flow into one big movement. I hadn't noticed the front foot before. That wasn't on purpose. Thanks. The knife-edge kicks aren't knife-edge kicks (although I've seen it done that way). Mine is a rising kick to the shin. I appreciate the feedback.
hey there! well, this wasn't bad...honestly tho, it was a bit too choppy in my opinion, it could have flowed a lot smoother...also, on your first forward bows may i ask why you pivoted your front foot? also, the knife edge kicks in moves 3/4 are (to the best of my knowlege) knee height, yours look a bit low...overall i give it about a 6.5...wasn't the best rendition of this form i've seen, but it also wasn't the worst...good luck perfecting :) hope to see an updated version from you soon!!
I messed up my knee a few weeks ago, so it'll be awhile before I make any new ones. Thanks for the front foot comment though. I hadn't caught that. :)
I am absolutely going to have to make some new videos! Any second now....

Great job! You did this form very well. Try not to listen to people who may be negative about your work. Your form looked great.

What a pleasure watching your video demonstration, Amy!
It takes courage to post your demonstrations for the whole world to see, especially with so many longfist stylists around.
Kenpo is a wonderful art, and I wish you the best.
