The warming rate, however, was *slower* than for 1950-2000, in spite of an overall *drop* in sunspot numbers during this period. Its also important not to get confused between inter-annual variability (which is what Bolt & Fielding focus on) & the longer-term trends-that show ongoing warming between 2000 & 2010 (& 1998-2010)

The 70's were the last time the heat of the earth went down.
since then our up and down temps have not gone to the lows of the 70's.
Meaning the earth has heated.
It only cooled to a certain point then back up again.
This is where fielding and Bolt are wrong.
If the temps came down to the 70's levels
then they would have a good point to make.
What they are doing is giving out misinformation or cherry picking if you like.
