  • from 50 to 59= the best part of anything ever to have been made (yet)

  • Gilmour's version is an improvement methinks. Nothing against Brian, though.

  • Shakespeare was a god.

  • My understanding is that he recorded this in tribute to his father, who died while he was working on music for the album.

  • My 21st favourite song of all time

  • how lovely - and meaningfully and expressively performed.

  • I just LOVE this version the best!!!

In music class we studied this particular piece, and although I've heard it a hundred times already, I can still hear it again and again and again and again...

Also the text is so beautiful... and it was written for a man; that just makes it even more beautiful I think.

Shakespeare was and always will be a GENIOUS!!!

  • @IronGold1

this sonnets adressee is poetry ;)

  • a transcendental rendition of poetic sweetness.

  • So, was this stolen from David Gilmour, or visa versa?

  • @monkeyguru00 This is Michael Kamen's piece so it wasn't really stolen by any of these guys

  • @monkeyguru00 From memory this version is from a CD called "WhenLove Speaks" It was mostlt RADA graduates who recited various sonnets. Alan Rickman with "My Mistress Eyes" is one. There are some musical interpretations including Rufus Wainwright and Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

  • LOVE THIS- thank you
