Southland Tales score...1 great song after another!!!This is my favorite scene in the movie...when they emerge from the woods in slow motion walking to the house.."That was loud, and that was funny"
I dont see how a fourth dimensional rift, and two souls on one earth and the fictional affect of that has any relevance to Revelation. True, is does allude to Revelation and the New Testament through JT's character / the narrator..but its definately not ABOUT the new testament.

i stand by what i say. the movie was poor in parts. its got flaws in it that could have been mended. donnie darko is one of my favourite films and its by the same director. there are flaws in both movies, and they could have been better. for example, what was the deal with taking the ATM machine? totally pointless didnt add to it. and in the zeppelin, 3 songs go on consecutively in a row, its too many for one scene!
Donnie Darko was practically flawless. It's just your perception on it. As for Southland tales, dragged on a bit long but over time I'm starting to understand it more. For the ATM we could just say the cop knew what he was doing, at the time it was a good idea which turned out right. Just my thoughts, cheers
this is such an awesome build up tune to those 2 scenes:
when the racist cop, boxer and roland are walking into the actor's house,
the second is when crysta now is driving in her yellow sports car and her friends are dancing to the beat of the tune.
so well done, ... thank you richard kelly and moby for that,....only the 2 of you could have accomplished that....please keep making more movies together...even southland tales was a bit poor, i still loved it.

No wonder i didn't understand the plot to Southland Tales. Its based upon 2000+ year old idiocy.

just trying to remember, but isn't it the trailing atm, which causes the crash, which leads ronald/roland to meet?

Southland Tales is about the New Testament.
Mainly Revelations
That's why a lot of people were confused by it.

Its about the book of Revealation and the end of the earth ,, the coming of rapture and Judgement ..
And yes it does if you dont take it too literally .. the whole 2 souls bit and the rift does relate.

the atm was so the gangster could go to mexico, so he could get out of the draft

the consecutive songs in one scene can also be a synonym for the human trait of repeating the same mistakes over and over again...

I'd have to add both of these films to my list of Time Travel movies....
12 Monkeys
Back to the Future (Trilogy)

Richard Kelly's dad worked for NASA, which probably explains some of his infatuation with time travel. Just a cool fact. :)
And many thanks for putting this up. This score grabs something deep down inside you that you didn't even know was there.

@July4th2008 I would add imdb.com/title/tt0056119/ instead of 12 monkeys... :-)
