  • I also went to China in June of 2007 with People to People, judging by the pictures, our groups did the same things. Nice pictures!

  • Im going to China with People to People in 2011.

Can you fundraise for People to People trips?

If so, how should I fundraise? Bake-sales, door to door, ect.

Please let me know, You will be a big help! ;)

  • @Sugarbabe2545

Yes of course you can. I actually raised a lot of money for my second trip to Australia and New Zealand. I didn't do door-to-door. I hosted events. I worked at my school sporting events and sold concessions. I got family members to sponsor me. Try to do something that you like. If you like baking then do a bake sale. You should also try to advertise and fundraise at school but you have to ask your principal first.

  • @csutton18 Thank you for responding back! Im actually home schooled(I travel to Scotland every year to see my family). So I cant fundraise at my school.

I have fundraised around my town, and I have made 118. Do you have any good tips for fundraising money? I am selling candles and cookies for my trip right now.

    Thanks =]

  • @csutton18 Thank you for helping me out!

It really helped, I have gotten 1,000 from my best friend, 1,000 from my parents, and 600 from my grandpa!

    So that helped! :)

I only have 4,439 left to raise! BUT, Im taking up a few babysitting jobs, and at the rate of that, I'll get 200 from each of my clients every month! And then, on the 23rd of December, I'll be raffling off a 200 dollar gift card to Tiffany's and Co.

So hopefully that will help pay almost all of it! :)

  • @Sugarbabe2545 No problem. Glad I could help!

Sweet thats a great start and plus you still have a lot of time until your trip during the summer. You'll be fine and be able to fundraise for the rest of the tuition. You should also remember that although your trip costs about $8,000 you want to raise at least $500 more than that for spending money there. All your meals are provided but I'm sure you are going to want to buy souvenirs and other cool things.

  • @Sugarbabe2545 fundrasiers such as basket sell car washes bake sales all work.

also try writing letters to local business asking for donations and such.

These are something I did for both my p2p trip to europe and japan

  • I'm going on the china trip this summer im so nervous, what do you do at the orenatation meetings?

  • Aweseome. Why are you nervous?

The orientation meetings are pretty fun. You get to meet new people make friends and learn about the places that you will be visitng. You get an overview of what you will be doing and info like that.

  • @sharkweek101 they prepare you greatly for what youa re going to expierence trust me you'll be ready.

  • I'm going this year! It's so amazing. You get nominated out of your whole school and that school is just one out of some who does this! It's such an honor! Oh and do you guys know exactly how much we pay for this one? I wasn't able to go to Washington or Europe. This is my first one. Oh and if you can, would I have advice? The trip is months from now and I already feel like slime.

  • Yeah it is so fun and youll have a great time. When i went it was just about $7,000. What do you want to know?

  • Are the other student ambassadors nice. I have had some bad experiences. Oh, and what kind of fundraisings do the forum let you have so we can go on the trip?

  • My experiences with the other ambassadors has been great. I have made life long friends. I became friends with almost everyone on the trip. HTe ambassadors become like an exteneded family to you.

What do you mean that the forum lets you have?

  • oh, nevermind. sorry, I was talking about the wrong thing. I found my answer though! thanks!

  • do we get to eat REAL ramen
