  • I have question, though, I downloaded this episode 1 Ef- A tale of Melodies,

but not from youtube, its a full length episode. I cant find it anywhere on youtube, except in short clips. Do you know if there is any possible way to convert the video file using vlc media player without using youtube?

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • I use Video Pad Editor

  • Hey if you have a webcam with built in mic then go inall programs then acsesories then sound recorder and it lets you record straight away make sur you speak up

  • Do i need to download video and audio sepratly?

  • dus this work for macbook to?

  • How do you save a YouTube video using Zamzar? I have my mp3 from there.

I'm doing a Little Shop of Horrors fandub, for the first time=)

  • just wanted to say you might want to remove EnJoyJoytv's channel from your video description. apparently it's been taken down.

also, is that samson mic what you used to record the voice-over for the tutorial? pretty darn good quality if it is. all i have is a cheapo headset/mic and a usb microphone that came with a karaoke game for the Wii lol.

  • I can't help my ears... but your voice sounds like Vanille's or Serah's from Final Fantasy XIII :-)

  • COOL thanks :D umm i have a question, i downloaded a file that i wanted to fandub then added my own audio to it but when i tried publishing it my computer froze and everything then when i closed it a window popped up asking me if i'd close the program or restart it, i tried repeating it several times but it always ends up the same, what should i do? plus the video file was in wmv form, do you think its because the program i used to convert it (xilisoft) wasnt a really good one or what?

  • oh thank you so much ive got aall of the programs and i didnt know what the fuck to do then you showed me with programs i had

  • YOU SOUND LIKE PAM FROM THE OFFICE! (Good thing, 'cause she's hot.)

  • Whenever i play music its all messed and turns out all squeaky and and it goes by fast ? :$

  • What microphone do you have ? :)

  • hey can someone tell me how to find free anime sounds for my fandub?

do i need to go to a secluded noise proof room or something :D

  • thanks for the tutorial!! i really appreciate the converting bit, since i have trouble using WMM for the right type of files. Your tutorial helped alot. Thanks again~

  • Thank you so much! X3 I've been asking my dad to teach me how to fandub for a long time now. But you did it for him! :D Thank you so much for putting this up!

  • It's weird. I had an old VLC media player, so i downloaded this new one which u have, but I can't go longer than 2:03 'coz it opens different sites then the sites you have :S

  • do you have to use windows movie maker???

  • No, windows movie maker only comes in MOST WINDOWS computers.

  • 4:55

  • Thank you so much! My future project is to make a fandub or two when I have time and this helped me SO much!

  • I was typing up a long description how to make a dub for the billionth time and then I found this video. Thanks for probably saving me hours of typing in the future. ^^

  • Thank you for this, my fandubs really do suck, and I think this will really improve on them :D

  • Thanks for the tutorial! I plan on purchasing a mic today so I can make a fandub or two :)

  • your welcome, I just added some more annotations to the video with a quicker site for downloading and converting. Happy Dubbing!

  • @withasmileandasong now do u know hw to make a fandub of say yugioh like little koriboh does

  • Thank you for doing this!!! This is so helpful!!! Cant wait to use this to fandub!!!

  • What I love about video game fandub is that there are always instrumentals because of soundtracks etc. Thanks I might try a fandub!

  • hmm, interesting. now I just need to figure out where to get some ready made fandubs(or how to make them myself)

  • thanks so much. i was making fan dubs before but for some reason the program i used to use kept crashing. lets hope this works

  • Thanks so much for making this!!!!!!!!!!! ive been trying to do a fandub but it didn't really work... After i watched this video it was so much easier to make! thanks again!

  • really nice video hun! ever tried mediaconverter(dot)org ? all you have to do is copy the video URL and paste it and you can choose right then and there that you want to save it as an MP3. it couldn't be more simple, and i am so bad with computers, so if it's easy for me, it'll be easy for anyone :P

  • thats what i use! XD

  • Oh thank you so much. My fandubs have been sucking SOOO bad! This helped alot! And your voice isn't annyoing! :)

  • Any Video COnverter also works too

great vid, so true with moviemaker

  • Use the WinFF converter instead.

  • Very nice tutorial. I know how to do it. But it's good so more people get welcomed in the fandubbing society! But I think VLC is bad since the video have these green parts in it and it's damaged after it has been converted. Anyways.. lovely tutorial. 5/5*!

  • Awesome tutorial Beth!! ^^ And you voice sounds a lot like Michelle Phan's! :D It's beautiful!

There were a lot of steps I do differently, so I'm defitinately going to try them out and see, if I get better results that way! ^^

  • Good way of doing it! I downloaded a programme called DVDvideosoft you could look for it on google and you can download videos or convert to MP3 directly from YouTube, so it's a lot quicker ^.^

  • I actually tried that way back when I first starteed, and I had loads of issues with it. Maybe they perfected it in the last few years.

  • Nice Video Beth!!! Very informative! its been SO long since i have heard you just speak it doesnt even sound like you! ^^ (or the you thats in my head! ;-D)

  • And in audacity,(after trying and failing at playing the file in ono programme and recording in another XD) , I found the best way to record there is to put JUSTTHE AUDIO track of the instrumental into audacity and record along with it bit by bit. Make sure you listen to the music through headphones so that the reocrding will be free of background noise!

  • If you rather convert with VLC, there's a direct way to download videos for Firefox. Install the Add-on Better Youtube to your firefox - very easy, just google this! It will create a direct mp4 download link underneath every youtube video!

  • I had no idea you could convert in VLC!! (I will bear it in mind for special cases)

But for simple fandubs, it looks a bit complicated... I suggest this way:

Paste the URL on zamzar, choose wmv and they will send you a download link for the ready converted file.

  • I am going to try this. I have been looking for some new ways to convert.

  • Good idea to make a tutorial and thanks for adding a link to lili100l! ( Although I've more more less given up making them, as Joy and Amy have much better equipment and/or much more time to make good instrumentals^^)

    I'll post a few tipps...

  • that was really smart to do Beth! I should do one using the program I use since it cuts down on two of the steps you do lol

  • Such a great idea!! Well done it's so clear and everything too *_* and don't hate your voice omg XD

  • if only there were tutorials like this but for a mac xD lol

this was great by the way! (:

  • I wish I could do a mac one, but I don't have access to a mac. I know that keepvid will work on macs. I am not sure about VLC. You could play with it.

  • i'll try it then!! thanks (:

  • This was a great thing for you to do Beth, it will help out so many people, it was interesting seeing what way you make a fandub lol, I just love stuff like this, great job =)

  • I got asked this so many times, and each time I explained it to the person as best I could but I wanted to be able to do it all at once with a video. I actually do it much differently now, but most people don't have access to the programs I use. I think my new way is easier than this, but I didn't want to demonstrate something that requires purchasing anything since most people are just starting out when they ask me. :) Maybe I will do a demo of how I make mine later on.

  • Yeah lol that's what I meant to say lol I actually started dubbing using completely different programs hehe. I'm thinking about doing a video on how I make mine, this has inspired me lol

  • that would be really cool to see how you make yours. I might make an updated version sooner or later, but I'm not sure if it would be as helpful to people and it would be so much longer! LOL.

  • =D I'm looking forward to showing everyone my new equipment and the studio I'm building, I'm probably going to do the tutorials along with those videos, I can't wait and btw hun thanks for putting my instrumental in the sidebar =D

  • I don't know if it's just me, but it keeps stopping at 2:30 and it won't let me continue. I've refreshed and let it reload, but it still does it. :/

  • It never lets me watch my own videos until they go HD, so by tomorrow it should be in HD. Try again and let me know. If not, I will re-upload it. :)

  • @withasmileandasong Ah, okay. It's working now. I tend to forget that I need to let new videos process first. ^^; Thanks for the help and the tutorial. :)

  • It just let me watch it all the way through in HD!!! :) Whew. I really didn't want to re-upload it. It took ages.

  • If you add &fmt=18 to the end of the url you are able to watch the entire video in HQ. Also if you always want to download in Stereo HQ add this to the url before you download it. =D
