I may not fully understand war, or the reasons for it, but I do understand the repercussions. All I see of them are families torn asunder, governments collapsed, and turn against each other, and violations of so many human rights. We are truly fools, humans. The only species to purposely war against itself.

No matter what anyone says, this song evokes such strong emotions in all of us that have served and those of us that are still serving, for us Para's it is like our anthem, it makes yiou think of the muckers we have lost and the eternal bond we share as "brothers in arms". Reminds me a really good friend of mine who was in the military and recently passed away. Man, just knowing them and knowing that a little less than a year ago I sat RIGHT NEXT to him and now....*sigh* God has him in his hands and I'm sure the place he's at now, there is no violence, no hurting, no wars, just peace and happiness. Remembrance day is not about your political views or propaganda. It's about remembering the sacrifice of ordinary people called to arms by leaders they did not know, sent to kill other ordinary people, they did not know...for Our freedom.
In the end, soldiers only care about, and count on, their fellow soldiers to make it out alive... not who started the war, or why. It's sad that people who have strong opinions against the current wars blame our soldiers.

@dunjak111 Thank you. I think where the confusion lies, is, that many Americans don't read the U.N. Charter as a treaty. They read it as the title states, a "charter". Initially when I read it I saw it as a mission statement like what you would see from any organisation. Though, I am no legal expert. However, I fear, that if you and I are to continue this conversation we may have to switch to e-mail as 500 characters may not be enough.
