Somewhere I caught a glimpse of Willard Van Orman Quine's Set Theory and Its Logic. Oh wait, that was in another professor's office at Georgetown. I'm glad to see Dyson's got a copy of Jesse, though. Essential reading.
What arguments does he make? He doesn't make arguments. He just says "AMERICA = RACIST" in as many different ways as possible while trying to sound like an intellectual.
And I wish MED worshipers would stop citing his Disney degree in Religion as evidence of his intelligence...it's getting a little tiresome now. I am not against Dyson using big words. I am against people talking about how eloquent he is, without focusing on the fact that his "arguments" are manifestly stupid.
@kingofrnb This is YouTube. I am not going to write an entire essay about why his points are stupid. Also, given that this is not a video where he discusses race, I have nothing to refute in this video.
@KinglyNumbaOne His arguments regarding race are honest and true. Those who disagree simply have not opened their eyes to see what's really going on. And by the way, his Master's degree in religion was completed at Princeton. But that whole "Disney degree in Religion" was a nice try at ridiculing him. Which shows that you don't know the man or have the mental capacity to comprehend what he says. Stay in your lane.
@kingofrnb I wouldn't care even if his degree was from Harvard...and by the way, he has a DOCTORATE in religion from Princeton, not just a master's -- yet you tell me I don't know about him. Whether you like it or not, it is a FACT that Dyson has contributed NOTHING of worth to the academic literature in ANY field. He is an intellectual lightweight and a hack.
Call me all the names you want, but I would eat Dyson for breakfast in a debate.
@KinglyNumbaOne You wouldn't last 5 minutes with Dyson in a debate, sorry. What have you contributed to academic literature? Have you read any of his books? You're obviously upset or jealous of him. He has hundreds of videos on YouTube and is widely recognized as a great cultural critic and a brilliant rhetorician...what do you do?
@kingofrnb I love how dumb blacks always claim people are jealous when they point out that someone they worship is a hack. It's so stupid. There are plenty of black scholars out there that can mop the floor with Dyson. You're just too ignorant to know who they are. I have read several of Dyson's books, and they're all garbage. Why would I call his work garbage if I haven't read his stuff, idiot.
I would destroy Dyson in a debate...that's a fact, but then again, so could many other people...
@KinglyNumbaOne Again I say, you wouldn't last a few minutes with Dyson. You can't even present any evidence to back up your point...which boils down to you just don't like him. Which is your opinion, not a fact. With sentences like "I love how dumb blacks always claim people are jealous when pout out that someone they worship is a hack", it's clear that you are mad at Dr. Dyson for some reason. Poor kid.
@kingofrnb I can't present evidence to back up my points? But Dyson can? Have you even read his books, idiot? The reason I think Dyson is a hack is precisely because he has no evidence to back up his points and his works are flimsy and foolish.
I am not really mad at Dyson; if anything I am mad that he is worshiped by intellectually bankrupt, illiterate fools like you.
Now, I am done with you. Take an English class and then learn to read a book.
Owning books doesn't necessarily confer intelligence. Frankly, Michael Eric Dyson will always be a pseudo-intellectual blowhard without a proprietary thought in his head. All he does is spew half-baked liberal bromides with the most esoteric vocabulary.
So many people are so stunned by his word choices, they don't notice that what he is articulating is absolute laughable garbage.
Want to find a truly impressive black intellectual? The author of the book at 8:04
@KinglyNumbaOne Yeah...umm, he's read all those books lol. So to even have the desire to read all of them, that doesn't "confer" intelligence. Let go of the hate. He deserves respect.
It's just you. He stated that he owns around 7,000 books. After reading that many books your vocabulary grows. I mean, is it just me or is that common sense?
Well did you ever stop to think that big words to us are simple words to them? Did you ever think that maybe using big words is just how they talk? No, I don't think you ever paused to think open minded.
@emptycell No, it's not just you! I've always though the same thing about Dyson. He tires WAY too hard to sound intelligent by trying to use big and fancy words.
@mftds13 Sorry he chooses not to be another average boring potificating professor. He chooses to be himself speak the way he wants and have fun using all the big words he has learned. HE IS HAVING FUN. He doesn't want to learn words to only talk to certain intelectuals he wants to talk to everyone and he IS SMART
academics have usually high intelligences, are well read and write a great deal. all of these things play into vocabulary and one's competency in the use of language.
excellent clip

Damn, why so many haters? All you're doing is exposing your insecurities. All the negative comments I've read are so frail, picky, and frivolous.
Focusing on his delivery and/or his vocabulary without addressing the content of his arguments is diversionary and disingenuous.
He has a PHD that he didn't give to himself, so apparently Princeton University forget to consult you guys before awarding it to him.

@KinglyNumbaOne When does he say "America = Racist"? Prove that his "arguments" are "manifestly stupid".

there are a zillion other scholars out there who have read more than 7000 books. yet their english is not filled with unnecassary jargon.
one needs not spit out big words to get their point across.
