Somewhere I caught a glimpse of Willard Van Orman Quine's Set Theory and Its Logic. Oh wait, that was in another professor's office at Georgetown. I'm glad to see Dyson's got a copy of Jesse, though. Essential reading.

Damn, why so many haters? All you're doing is exposing your insecurities. All the negative comments I've read are so frail, picky, and frivolous.

Focusing on his delivery and/or his vocabulary without addressing the content of his arguments is diversionary and disingenuous.

He has a PHD that he didn't give to himself, so apparently Princeton University forget to consult you guys before awarding it to him.

What arguments does he make? He doesn't make arguments. He just says "AMERICA = RACIST" in as many different ways as possible while trying to sound like an intellectual.

And I wish MED worshipers would stop citing his Disney degree in Religion as evidence of his intelligence...it's getting a little tiresome now. I am not against Dyson using big words. I am against people talking about how eloquent he is, without focusing on the fact that his "arguments" are manifestly stupid.

And by the way, his Master's degree in religion was completed at Princeton. But that whole "Disney degree in Religion" was a nice try at ridiculing him. @kingofrnb I wouldn't care even if his degree was from Harvard...and by the way, he has a DOCTORATE in religion from Princeton, not just a master's -- yet you tell me I don't know about him. Whether you like it or not, it is a FACT that Dyson has contributed NOTHING of worth to the academic literature in ANY field. He is an intellectual lightweight and a hack.

There are plenty of black scholars out there that can mop the floor with Dyson. You're just too ignorant to know who they are. I have read several of Dyson's books, and they're all garbage. Owning books doesn't necessarily confer intelligence. Frankly, Michael Eric Dyson will always be a pseudo-intellectual blowhard without a proprietary thought in his head. All he does is spew half-baked liberal bromides with the most esoteric vocabulary.

So many people are so stunned by his word choices, they don't notice that what he is articulating is absolute laughable garbage.
