Sweet mother of all art, thank you for this gift to my ears. Not really my usual type of music, but variety can only be a good thing. I admire the originality and the talent.
love all of the wolf parade side projects........... and yes amazing voice and the guitar play is wicked as always........... I strongly suggest to longtime fans of these guys (wolf parade, Handsome furs, etc...) listen to the song "Fine Young Cannibals" off of Wolf Parade's 2nd album... if you are on the fence and that song doesnt convince you of their lyrical, musical, and vocal genius, I don't know what will....lol
You know, I really love Sunset Rubdown, but this is a really pumpernickel video. Pretty turgid-- swollen with bombast. I don't know why artists need to resort to the ambiguously supernatural for allegory and metaphor. In my humble opinion, the world's natural state possesses enough magic in its majesties; its ironic-- one of the reasons I love sunset rubdown is that the lyrics spun within the songs demonstrate that.
@bankspappas completely agree. Nice to see somebody feels the same way about this. I mean, at first, with the little girl just walking around and everything, it looked like it was gonna be pretty good. But then...damn kitschy horses appear and from that point on...
Oh and i absolutely love sunset rubdown. Just sayin'.
@bankspappas Probably for the same reason you felt like jacking off your vocab and wrote a paragraph when a sentence would have sufficed. Triple word score for trying to swing 'pumpernickel'.
@ajparanagua durh of course, i have no idea why i added that, i'm like his biggest fan and refer to him as canadian.. subconscious wishful thinking i guess ;)
Spencer krug (pronounced kroog, I asked him), has not only my favorite voice, but my favorite lyrics ever. Even if you can't appreciate his voice, it's hard not to appreciate the passion and depth of his songs.
imagine just listening to your normal mainstream uptown rap/pop/rock radio station one day, and between taio cruz and katy perry this song comes on. what would people even think? haha.
sanelunacy i agree with you, i like the song more than the video, but then SR is one of my fav bands and i absolutely love this song. it wd be hard for any visual representation of the music to hit as hard as the music does by itself, at least for me... but this isnt it.
and to the ppl who diss the vocals.. i support personal preferences / differing tastes, etc w/ music and if it doesnt do it for you it doesnt do it for you. but i think his voice has character. and hes hitting the pitches, in fact his control is incredible. side note for ppl who like this, go see them live. amazing.

why are so many people saying this video has nothing to do with the song? It has more to do with the song than the song does.

This is my first time listening and the vocals sound too unclear and far away.
I don't know if all their songs are like this. I like the music though.

The lyrics to this song collapse all defenses and sensibiites I possess. Spencer, I thank you in so many unknown ways.

i love the song, but quite honestly, the video makes zero sense to me.

This video is a huge disappointment. Dragon's Lair is gorgeous and brilliant, and the video is completely unrelated and frankly, stupid.

"Jacking off," you say? Colorful, old sport.
Obscenity and its derivatives are the product of a famished mind, struggling to express itself without knowing how.
