i remember the day they flew one just like it, it was so tail heavy they had to pick the plane up right under the ailerons ( no joke thats how tailheavy it was) and i told them they need to take that home and make a lot of adjustment, but no those OU engineers were so hard headed they decided to fly it anyways, so i parked my plane under the tabls to keep their plane from carshing into mine. sure enough less than 10 seconds after take off, it came crashing down.

Wow. I would be crying from the sidelines! I remember how much time it took just to build wing components for the DBF! All we are is dust in the wind

What did this DBF teach us?

Shame to see this happen since the plane represents hundreds of hours of work by the students on this team. It looked a little tail heavy and the short span, tail distance probably made it pitch and roll sensitive.
