She is a lovely person as well. Her concert at Wigmore Hall is breathtaking and available on CD.Renée Fleming said that she was her favorite singer! They have a wonderful duet available on you tube from Cosi Fan Tutte!

@leprincebeaumont lei ha ragione; canta tutte le note ma non ce l'intreprertazione e come lei dice da vero meccanicha. Per me l' ottima interpretazione di quest' opera era fatta nell' anno 1955 con Maria Callas e Tito Gobbi. Questa e la piu completa interpretazione di tutte.

I think the wheelchair gave her a prop with which she was able to illustrate the emotional twists in the song even more forcefully than standing on two feet.

Di Donato is absolutely brilliant! Her coloratura is fantastic, her characterization is quite vivid and there are plenty of spirit and joie de vivre in her singing. And what a great trouper she is performing from wheelchair despite the injury to her leg! Thank you for posting this video which demonstrates her great prowess to the fullest.

Just saw Di Donato's Rosina last Wednesday in LA. She was magnificent. She is such an intelligent singer, knowing not to put too much pressure on the voice. Her stage business in LA was completely different (of course its a different production) showing she is thinking about Rosina as a real character, not just a showpiece role. Brava!

@dht23 Most of her roles are coloratura lol...coloratura refers to the ability to sing with great agility, ie many semiquavers per second :P so really, Juan Diego Florez is a coloratura tenor, Joyce a coloratura mezzo! I think there's a lot of confusion because most singers with coloratura ability are sopranos, and a lot of famous roles requiring coloratura ability are for sopranos, so many often shorten "she's a coloratura soprano" to "she's a coloratura". :)
