  • Not trying to put the camera down or anything but I think this is an awful camera. I've had it for about 2 years now and if I had a way to get a quick replacement I would've refunded the camera.

  • S1800 is awful as Video Camera because of background sounds.

  • Szia!

  • S1800 is a very bad camera. The company told me that you're not supposed to use it as a video camera.

  • @Crime1234management Correction, its not the best VIDEO camera but is a great Camera

  • i love the camera....nice video, think im gunna get it ;)

  • How's the sound quality while recording? Has it got an external mic jack? PLEASE ANSWER!!!

  • @Whatever6217 I have the same camera. The sound recording is not the best, and it does not have an external microphone. However if you would like good sound quality get something like a zoom h1 handy digital recorder. It sells for around $100 dollars, and has an external mic input, and an input for headphones. It does have HD recording.

  • so the text on the video says it's a test at 1020 (?) HD, the info for the video says it's 1280(?)HD, and the video is (supposedly) being recorded with an s1800 - a camera with a maximum resolution of 720p? LOL

  • I believe in importance of the eye behind the camera and not the camera itself, just an instrument but importance is the artist that is using the machine. I will be getting one soon.

  • Thanks for this! Might get this camera for Christmas.

  • These are the best photos ive ever seen for a $150 camera. Its not a DSLR or a point and shoot so its a DSLRPAS. Also, if you were to measure its zoom capacity in mm's like a dslr, it would be 32-500mm which is INSANE. If you were to buy this quality sharpness in a dslr lens, you would spend $1500 easy for the lens alone. Im not kidding, go online and search for a 500mm DSLR lens. THANKS FUJIFILM FOR A B__A___ PRODUCT!!! also thank you MindWarp95 for an awesome quality test.

  • @dillonblocker Thanks

  • I'm really liking the music!! I just purchased this camera to upgrade from my Fujifilm S5000 that I've had forever!! Many happy years spent with the S5000 and not once did it ever let me down. Switching over to the S1800 has been an easy transition and I think from the looks of it, we're gong to get along just fine! ; ) Thanks for the video!

  • @Lovthelake No problem, and good luck in the future with your camera

  • i got a question does this have a charger or batterys

  • @ObeyTheChicken Batteries, 4 AA

  • Oh yea this is getting bought!

  • @italianbubble Well said, this is an awesome camera. I will be uploading another video soon. :)

  • @KeepOnDrumming1 Oh, Thanks heaps, yeah ill do some landscapes in December when summer's at its best.

  • @KeepOnDrumming1 Thanks, but making 15 videos with 1 photo on each one is impractical, but thanks for the tip.

    Thanks

  • does this camera take great pictures of people?

  • @babygurlfresh99 Yes it does indeed, with the awesome features of Face detection including blink detection. The camera also has a portrait mode function which is great for taking pictures of people.

  • It is capable of taking some nice pictures but why doesn't the shutter speed go up when you pop up the flash in low light? You have to go to shutter priority for that. Why are some of the settings that are available in auto not available in PASM where people are more likely to use them? I can't figure out what they were thinking when they designed this camera.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable Hey, to get the best possible answer, ask the fujiguys

    /user/fujiguys.

But in truth this camera is awesome, especially for its price.

  • @MindWarp95 One of the best cameras I have ever seen in the price range. You can set it auto and get decent pics but this is a downgrade for me from a Canon DSLR which I had total control of. I don't use auto and want control when I am in PASM mode. If you go to aperture priority you will see you only have a choice between 2 aperture settings. WTF? In the program shift mode you have to press an extra button and it does not let you shift the program much. If flash is enabled it should.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable Yes i agree with you, but look at the price of a Canon DSLR, and compare it to this camera. But i do agree that in future the things you have mentioned could be modified for the better.

    Thanks

  • @MindWarp95 I have other cameras at this price and they could recognize the flash was up and set the shutter speed to 1/125 a second. Fuji could have done the same thing and it would not cost them a cent. I think they assumed everyone using this camera was an amateur and would not notice its flaws. I have gotten great pics from this camera. Pics that surprised me that a CCD sensor could produce so little noise.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable Yeah, This camera is great for beginners and for Point and Shoot photography. And i have also gotten great pics.

  • @MindWarp95 Did you see the video of the pics I took in Austin, Tx? They came out great on auto.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable Yes I did see them, I was very pleased that this camera had HD quality video, and even know it could be improved it was a great bonus. I tend to use the SP function as the SRAuto function is, in my opinion annoying.

  • @MindWarp95 HD video looked pretty good but if you pan your camera quickly it seems to drop frames.I was using a class 6 hi speed SD card so it was not the SD card. Some of my gripes are a bit nit picky but having to go to shutter priority to use a decent shutter speed with a flash is a big deal.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable I tend to stick with 640 as 1280HD is a Memory eater, as i only have a 8gb SD card, another feature i would of liked to seen included was Dual SD slots, like having one for Images and another for video. But i guess considering the price, you cant ask to much from Fuji.

  • @MindWarp95 My sister has a part time gig for taking pictures and video interviews of rock bands. She removed the card from the Kodak she was using for video

and put it back in her Canon DSLR and the video file got corrupted. 2 cards sounds good,

  • @Smarterthanyouarable Yes, ive seen some very expensive DSLR cameras with that feature and im waiting for it to be added to a nice camera in my price range.

Seeing as im not a Professional Photographer i don't want to spend over $600.

But i think being a photographer would be a great profession.

  • @MindWarp95 The latest Canon Rebel is the T2 so the T1 should start dropping in price. 15 megapixel (does that even matter unless you are printing posters?) and HD video. Canon has a CMOS sensor which processes some of the data on the chip and the Digic processor handles the rest. Some of the latest Nikon's have a CMOS sensor but they are expensive because I guess they buy them from Canon.

  • @Smarterthanyouarable You are most definitely right about The mega pixels and if they are really needed unless You are printing posters. And ill be keeping my eyes out for some nice cameras. Next year i am planning on getting a nice DSLR, not a super expensive one, but one that gives me more options and control than the FujiFilm FinePix S1800.
