This documentary should be included in the roster of documentaries made by the Discovery channel about World War 2. While it is nice to know more about stories like Fall of Singapore, it is only fitting for the channel to tell the story of the only Southeast Asians who fought vigorously against the Japanese.
Lt. Fertig's successful resistance in Mindanao would not have been possible without the extensive help from the Filipino population at great risk from brutal Japanese retaliation.
The Japanese war timetable was greatly affected by the Philippines' gallant stand. Other parts of Asia fell quickly but the Philippine Islands held on.
Much respect for the soldiers, guerrillas and civilians who gave their best for the defense.
