fair comment, my guess is he was playing either a p bass or a jazz bass, I think this would sound much better on my jazz but this was my only bass at time of recording

dude if you think I can't do scales 2 octaves on 4 strings then you are sorely, sorely mistaken.

I practice without the B string as well, as I teach 4 string players, I have a 4 string fretless, and I can play all modes 2 octaves on it using all 4 strings to change position and combinations of those strings.
