  • About the mag thing, i have the dboys rk06 and CYMA steel stampted mags work great, it's true they fit pretty hard and you need to file the plastic part at the end of the mag, but not much. And Cyma mags are superior to almost any ak mag. Dropped one form the 4th floor on concrete, still works. If Dboys steps up the game with the romanian steel version ak (RK15S) and has flawless internals, then you have a gun that structurally will last you forever, you probably just have to change the battery.

  • Great review! I'm buying one soon from Airsoft GI and will be sure to get a new hop up rubber since you said the stock one is such crap.

  • how accurate is it? Im thinking about buying a 74 or a 105

  • It's my gun :)

  • It is easy to file the magazines but it is anoying. :)

  • Where did you buy this?

  • Hi there!

This is a AK-105, a modern version of the AK 74 that is a bit more compact. Most airsoft AK's on the market are based on "old" AK's like the 47 and chinese type 56. That is why they have a different texture on the reciever. Altough I'm sure there are exceptions.

    Good job on the review!

  • @kimjoh560

Hey wow, thanks, a very informative comment indeed. I have been wondering about the different texturing types on AK for a while now...

  • if the s means steel, then why do real ak's like the aks-74u have the s? it seems pretty obvious that the body of the gun would be metal.

  • @invadersquatt

Dude, the S in the real firearms stand for the Russian version of "special". They are the versions with folding stocks meant for airborne and special forces.

The S in DBoys means Steel

    Completely different things

  • @Ecthelion008 Well, S means 'Skladnoy', meaning 'foldable' (which of course, refers to the stock) Its just that Im Russian, im not being 'mr perfect' =P

  • @Ecthelion008 the S in AKS74U means "Skladnoy" or folding, as in the stock.

    just an FYI.

  • @TheGunzilla

I know... I was referring to the S in the model name, the RK08S, which in this case means Steel, not folding

  • @invadersquatt

"S" in the AK names means Skladnoy (Folding) in Russian. U is Ukorochenniy (Short).

The AK-100 series are not under thoose therms. Its the number that tells it (102,103,105 and so on).

Exampel: AKS-74U (The shortest AK carabine with folding stock).

  • I was recently on hitguns.com and they had these in stock. Just passing it along. I bought mine about 7 months ago from trinityairsoft. Awesome gun, still works great and hits hard. I've encountered some serious stock wobble personally but I think the sling mount it what hold it together so it'll wobble but won't fall off. Even battery that came with mine still holds a charge almost all day. Was sketchy when I bought it now I'm glad I did.

  • @TheRifleMasta

You might want to look into the stock pivot parts for loose screws. Sometimes a little locktight is all you need.

  • @Ecthelion008 Ummmm, I thought it was held in with pins to the reciever? Not sure. But whats to the reciever isn't were the wobble is. Its just the stock itself. Um...I don't see any screws, but then again. I'm probably not looking all that well lmao. See a few pins here and there but not where the problem would be. As long as my stock doesn't fall off I can live with it I guess. I'm surprised there aren't more videos of this gun. Itsa good gun.

  • @Ecthelion008 Ding! Correct. I've never bothered to dissemble mine at all lol. Remove the butt plate, 2 screws. Thanks man I appreciate the intel on it.......just wish I had a long enough screw driver lmao.

  • This is my favourite AK

  • Got one, its great. The only upgrades I put in are a Systema bucking, and active breaking mosfet. Now I get 18 rps and excellent accuracy and range. Great gun!

  • where were you able to find it, and do you know of any places that have it in stock currently?

    thanks

  • @kalashnikob1

In a lone dark corner in a Hong Kong gun shop far far away.

No place I know still has this in stock.

  • If this rifle is anything like the RK-03SW - the outer barrel is not steel; as you said. But its not pot metal either. Actually it is aluminium. Which is not a bad thing.

  • can you tell me what the production name is like RK-10 or RK-5...

  • @Xboxfreaky1994 Pretty sure I said in the video: RK08S

  • which specific firefox battery are you using, ive been looking at a few different ones, and havent chosen yet

    thanks

  • @kalashnikob1

Any thin long lipo will fit, just make sure you get a 11.1V one.

  • dboys=epic crap

  • @bak3rzman

It is possible to convert it to a collapsible stock.

Please keep in mind that the stock length on Soviet bloc guns are shorter than fixed stock NATO rifles. The standard Soviet stock is roughly equivalent to a civilian AR15's 4 position, whereas the NATO stocks are the 5 position.

  • How many fireing modes are there (ex. Semi,Three Round Burst, Full Automatic)?

  • Hay man, Extremely informative. Can tell you've done a lot of research into getting the right AK.. All AK offerings from Dboys have released the "S" verient which is full steel and 7mm bearings.

I saw that gunner just stocked the RK-06s and RK-10s so thank god for dboys getting back in the game when others have not.. dboys has always done it right and I personally think they will always have an edge.

  • @AirsoftHawaii09

    Thanks!

Yeah, pick them up while you still can. Inside (sort of) sources say that those few Chinese guns that are still available are from old inventories at least 7 months old. Whether they will make new ones is yet to be decided. They may very well be some of the last DBoys AKs to be made.

  • @Ecthelion008 Ah where have you heard that? I have the suspicion that dboys is already making the comeback, On gunners they stocked the pot metal ones a while ago which I think were old stock, but even now they still have them and those 2 steel aks just poped up aswell. Im waiting a bit tho to see if other sites stock them aswell.

  • @AirsoftHawaii09

The ones you see are old stock. This I know for sure as far as sources tell me.

The major airsoft companies are just doing their best to sell off old inventory to cut losses. Whether they put further investment in and produce new inventory is far from certain.

  • nice review, just wondering if u could/will do a review of the CYMA CM050A-the scorpian stock AK47 with everything black.

  • @Axekura

Never bought the gun, came close though.

After handling the CYMA I noticed a few things right away:

    1. Finish was poorly done, will scratch easily

    2. Stock had about 1mm of wobble

    3. Furniture was not fitted to the metal well, some gaps are clearly visible

Generally that's the case with CYMA guns, the have nice internals, but externals are very sloppy. DBoys AKs come with better externals. JG AKs though, still have the cleanest externals.
