Looks okay but the Z Pen is lighter, cheaper, and doesn't require special paper. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be as well marketed as the Livescribe.
the microphone is awesome. Best of all, it lets you select what type of room youre in for better sound quality. Also it comes with awesome biaural microphones. They look like headphones but are 3d microphones that make even the farthest professor sound clear and close.
I decided to answer common questions I hear all the time. First, i dropped it all over the place. ITS VERY DURABLE. Quality is great, esp with the microphones it comes with- even large lectures when ur in the back. They give you 3 ink refills, im still on my first. You can mute the pen completely so no annoying beeps. Battery usually lasts 6-10 hrs. Full recharge takes 1-2 hrs or so. I checked it out at the livescribe site and got a discount with code SCRIBE5A31
Im guessing you have to pay for these right. I dont know at 150 bucks its still a lot of money but if your going to pay extra for the ink and paper then thats another thing.
I've had this pen for a while now... works great! It honestly does give you an edge when studying for those midterms or trying to remember what exactly was said in a meeting or something..
that's pretty cool eh? but it is kind of a novelty rather than something that u need though because lectures are already recorded and you can download them from the university's website.
Haha I don't know what university you go to, but only a few of my professors allow that. Most of them don't record their lectures because then students won't attend class.
plus if you only missed a few words in different places in the whole lecture do you really want to go back and search for around in 50+ minutes of video? i sure as hell don't haha and this pen solves that problems
Wow, I wish my professors had that. You are lucky. My professors say information only once and if you missed it, then you have to find someone who has a better recorder than you. But trust me its not a novelty i love my pen.

now they just have to make it run with "Penny" chips, and they could sell them like regular pencils.

So what happens when you run out of ink and paper?
RollDeep1000 3 years ago
You get more, just like you would with regular pens/paper. All of the things you need are available from the main livescribe page.
