I would guess Dave was just the star, and his civilian partner was giving the clues. It is always more interesting when that happens because it means more for a contestant to prove their worth by seeing what the celebrity knows...or lack there of, as the case may be.

I can't believe that Letterman had any problems at all because her clues were so precise and made answering correctly seem effortless. If the producers had screened their contestants more extensively, Letterman would not have to guess blindly at the answer without ever receiving a clue. That is, of course, you think "Oh, God" IS a clue. YOU need to get a clue.
This is brilliant. My only knowledge of this show was from the sketch on the Dr. Dre album The Chronic. What year is this clip from? I don't suppose you have the whole episode?
