Tim Richmond was who he was on the track cause he loved racing and winning. Everything else in his life had to fight for 2nd. He would have been the Jeff Gordon of NASCAR. I read an interview with him once. They had 2 engines to race with. One had laps on it with a lot of HP. The other one was fresh with less HP. He said "give me the fresh engine with less HP. I will just drive it harded"

I guess. Today's announcers suck too. Benny was the best. He was like the John Madden of Nascar. He knew what he was talking about but yet still went on small rants about shit without realizing it and that's what made him great. Just watch Mark Martin's crash at Talladega in 1994 as he explains a chain link fence.
