  • It is a really beautiful performance. I have a feeling that her performance is great and interprets a true meaning of what was intended for. Congratulation Silvia !

  • Bravo!

  • Ha! Who cares about facial expressions. I wish I can play even a quarter this good.

  • I disagree with those who opine that she is not playing with emotion. Just because she doesn't grotesquely contort her face (ala Salerno-Sonnenberg), flail her body, or have horsehair flying off the bow doesn't mean she is not playing expressively or with feeling. We have been conditioned to only react to visual cues. Close your eyes and use your ears.

  • This is PARADISE !!! Silvia is absolutely great.

  • Bravissimo ! Mes compliments à la grande violoniste virtuose Mme Silvia Marcovici,

    jour de son anniversaire !

  • In Romania are many talents...the problem is the mentality, who know ,understand what I mean,Silvia Marcovici is my favourite, she inspires me...

  • Truly brilliant - she plays that piece as well as anyone ever has.

  • She is Marvelous. What a talent! We could make do without the cartoons.

  • Your supposed 2 play off the string on the 16th notes

  • except for the cartoons, which really are mostly kind of silly, under the circumstances...

  • inspiring almost beyond belief

  • Beautiful, she's great!

  • gorgeous Romanian violin player. Rare talent.

  • Congratulations for such a full of life performance!!

  • I wish it were not so difficult too play :( and yes... she plays it soooo perfect.. I wish I could :(

  • She play all 3 movement's clean till the end. Bravissimo.

  • Thanks !

  • Is this concert difficult to play???

  • it's fucking difficult

  • She's great, but I still think Oistrakh is the benchmark for this piece (as for so many others).

  • I like her vibrato and expression--a really good performance from a talented and promising young woman...I am going to look for more of her work

  • My favourite violin concerto in the world but there could have been a better violinist, but what would i know im a viola player Lol

  • You could have watched another video! Viola players.... :P

  • Very rare for a viola concerto !!!

If yiou could reccomend a viola concerto i will be very pleased !!!

  • Wow Beautiful,, playd en also very beautiful young girl..bravo

  • she is wonderful but, she did not really make it for she does not have those indescribable charisma that martha argerich has and maestro vlad possesses, she is great. yes, she is beautiful. definietly, she is passionate, yessssss she is vibrant yes, is there a particular (philosophical) magic on her playing............. doubtful........... great and astoundingly superb performance though...........

  • W@W!!!

  • The maestro, Marcovici, is a contemporary of the German, Ulf Hoelscher, who played this con. in Mainz,1976 which was broadcast by the BBC and recorded by me, in Croydon. Sth London. Charles Groves conducted the BBCSO. I have enjoyed many repeats over the years of that live broadcast, surely the best way to hear music. Hence the today advantage of YouTube. Marcovici was unknown to me til this web stream. Her beauty and talent must have scared the establishment-or why isn't she known? Thanks vm.

  • actually I liked it,

  • wow! :)

  • I didn't really feel excited when i heard her playing this...

  • It's because she isn't rushing. :P

  • nice!

  • Looked the playing Mr. Gidon Kremer. this playing good students. good.

  • good.

  • Beautiful combination music and violinist--wish I seen her live back then.

  • I don't mean to sound mean or anything but she barely put any true emotion into this. I was disappointed. =(

  • I agree

  • how about you, who is disappointed in you? all you do is whine about other people's work

  • @SuckerForRockers Can't agree more

  • @SuckerForRockers I can't care less if she smiles or not when she plays like that. The emotion is in the way she is playing, facial expressions are not needed when the soul is talking (or playing in this case)...

  • @SuckerForRockers you might enjoy the playing of Ling Ling.....the ugy chinese pianist. he contorts his face like he's having an orgasm, it's fake, it's show..I'd rather have emotion in the playing than watching someone constipated

  • violonist and woman 3 in 1, senzational play and beautiful woman

  • Exquisite. What else can I say?

  • very very very nice.

  • wow so beautiful.

  • SHE IS TRULY DIVINE LIKE A GODDESS.

  • exactly violinfanatic

  • What privilege do meer mortals such as oursleves have to judge these Goddesses?

  • Are you sure to have heard Mutter playing? Heifetz is too cold, but technically perfect, Mutter is falsely emotional and has an horrible vibrato... PS: That you call "slow" is named fraseggio!

  • I love the blurring rtwork. it really makes the piece so exciting!!! lol

  • petezpan; agree, excellent video technique, isnt it.

    great musician, too.

  • I must disagree, petezpan & joosangbai, I thought the pictures were a distraction and had no effect related to the musik whatsoever. However the divine musik made mestay and watch. :)

  • just in case you did not notice, it was definitely a sarcastic comment i made, hahaha, i bet you joosangbai was the same, lol

  • Oh, I see, I failed to notice the "lol" at the end of your statement. However, I dont think I am the only one wo failed to see that, for, it seems that joosangbai took it seriously....

  • oh my god, this is so good!

  • whyd you put art during the performance?

  • she very very good BUT she doesn't have that something that Oistrakh has...his performance is perfect

  • Oistrakh had the flapping jowels to improve his performance...XD Just kidding, just kidding!

  • I love her interpretation of the Tchaikovsky. The tempo is right on. Any faster and the ear has a harder time distinguishing the notes. You have to realise that the concerto is a duet with the soloist and the orchestra. I don't particularily care for this orchestra's sound. My Favorite is still Pinchas Zukerman with the Israel Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta. Speaking as a violinist, this video was ruined with the showing of art throughout the movement.

  • She is wonderful.especeally for a girl!

  • what do you mean especially for a girl...women are just as equally musically inclined as men dumb ass!!! SHALLOW COMMENT, when are men going to stop making comments like this!

  • woman can be preffered over men... sarah chang, midori goto, akiko suwanai, anne sophie mutter they are all extremely talented women.

  • makes that violin wail from the depths--strong player, no fleeting star, here for the long haul, strong sensuous sound, on the dark side, imo.

  • outstanding...I'm missing the drive sometimes though..

  • wow... why have i never heard of her before... i'm definately going to remember the name silvia marcovici now...

  • after hearing this i respect her even more...

  • ....perfect!
