Excellent video, Mr Nottingham. I have watched it several times now and I think I have fully digested its meaning, and I am now following the paths it has now opened up to me by this wonderful and hopeful introduction. Thank you!
It is sad that this kind of clear spiritual talk does not come up EVER is so many Christian churches. I became Hindu because I was hitting a brick wall in my seeking within Christianity. It seemed like the only way I was going to get the training I needed was to join a monastery. But Ted "gets it," and teaches it. Lucky congregation he must have!
very valuable teachings on today's language that makes sense to people. this is the role of the priest accountable to God: to get to people by knowing their hopes and fears in the modern world, help them discover the practicality of Bible's teachings beyond the ancient image of "the carrot and/or the stick" that has lost its meaning. good work father, keep going!
Beautiful insight. I am now non-practicing, but was raised Methodist and warped by fundamentalist Baptists (military base chapel Sunday School) who insisted that just about everything the world was evil. I spent years studying doctrines and becomming dogmatic, but felt that the peace of God was slipping away from me. Instead of seeing a bigger world and purpose in life, my whole world was shrinking.
