now we have to fight down and out the jewish-islamic conspiracy and subversion in EU: 100 millions afro-turco-isalmics invasors and break all of them the dorses and take the betrayers!14!88!
@chtodelat HEY ASSHOLE, after Apartheid ended South Africa was supposed to become a MULTICULTURAL PARADISE. did it happen, NO. The black man destroys everything he touches. Look at Zimbabwe once the breadbasket of Africa under white rule today the poorest and most inept country in the world. The whites where systematically killed and kicked out
South Africa is next but it will take more time since there are around 4 million whites left( Rhodesia had 300,000 whites)
@chtodelat Did you not spot the black South Africans in that video also, fighting to keep their country safe from Communist oppression? Also, epic fail at understanding the message of the vid, saying of the soldiers "they are unfairly carrying the blame [for apartheid]". Try understanding the language first before shooting your mouth off, mosimane.
How do I explain to my sons this war? The smell of the bush, the smell of battle, fear, the smell of 14 day worn fatigues? How do I explain the fckd up state my brothers returned from the bush? How do I explain the same menace we are facing in the same country we so valiantly defended? I am 48. Soon they will be leaving for Oz, NZ, Canada. Again we will have to step up to the plate. Fck the Poms.Up the Boers.
@bonehead110 - GB fucked-up everything haha - understatement of the century! "
Gaan kyk in jou plaaslike boekwinkel: "ONS WAS DAAR" My kind is 19jr en ek 47jr oud.
Britain fucks up everything they touch. The boers built a great nation, only to have it turn asunder by afrocentric marxism. Segregation leads to tolerance, diversity leads to hate and destruction.
@ jamaicangoodguy . you talk about black supremacy.tell me what have blacks discovered/invented/created ?when haiti had the earthquake, where were all the black countrys giving aid?show me a black country that is in a better position since ending white rule.give me anything that blacks are better at and I will give you respect.otherwise you are and remain an ignoranus.
the individual soldier on the ground are not to blame for apartheid in the same way the average German soldier in WW2 was not to blame for Nazism but they both did fight for the wrong cause, you cant say to be that the old SADF fought for freedom, democracy and equality for all of humanity. Its a shame the national party use those young men to defend something immoral like apartheid
@gameking50P "defend apartheid" this war was not about defending apartheid if you think that then you have misunderstood the whole point. SA not in Angola to inflict apartheid on Angolans. They were there fighting the cold war, a small nasty hot war on behalf of western civilization. Their efforts meant southern Africa did not become communist . It was due to these men’s courage & skills that communism never made it to SA. hats off to them SADF
Never surrender. I hope someday You will est. your independent Boer or Boer/Afrikaaner State. Greetings from Poland. Ps.: For me, Afrkaans is the most beautiful language in the world.
Best wishes and thoughts from Israel. I was an intelligence officer in the IDF(Israeli Army) during the 80s. I visited South Africa and South West Africa and had many friends and acquaintences in the SADF. Most of them now can't even find work in the new South Africa. A shame, they were great warriors and the west watched while the cold war was damned near lost in Africa.
@MrKakgolfer - Same here... since songs like this started... its bringing that "pride back".... I agree SAI rules as once a Bokkop .. always a Bokkop, not a "f&^%kop... like the tiffies said ;-)
SADF won the military conflict even when it was almost on fumes. We "out played" the best Cuba, Soviet bloc, SWAPO & ANC could muster while UK & USA shamefully sat by watching us fight the "Cold War" for them, only to be betrayed by lies & politians.
SADF lads have nothing to be ashamed of, or apologize for & it was not a wasted war, for we who served are part of The Legend that is GVs ..."Grensvegters".
history has a way to teach us humility, forgiveness and tolerance, this war happened before i was born and being a young educated brother today, I thank all who contributed to the war, for they indeed changed our country to better, and today i'm proud to call me a South African
I'm a Afrikaner and Yeah I'm proud of it ... We suffered and fought and died but still we have to hand everything to them hell no my friend the war is only just starting
@zonicalombard one of the proudest nations in the world. Proud of who they are and what they are. The world hated us and still do. But we know the truth and the truth sets free. Dead fish goes with the flow. The live ones swim upstream.

@bozkurt83 “everything gone what's the point? anc fucked it all up” SA large wealthy country with millions of white SA with enterprise, energy & resilience. True ANC corrupt, inept at governance but that is their Achilles heel. It’s one thing to have been “given” power as ANC was quite another to rule effectively as they & SA Africans are finding out. Do not despair the talents, enterprise & energy of whites is SA trump card. The history of SA is not yet done my friend sun will shine again
@bozkurt83 Do not give in to revisionist nonsense about this war. SADF won this conflict hands down. SADF almost on fumes soundly defeated the best Cuba, E Ger & USSR, SWAPO & ANC could muster while Britain & USA shamefully sat by watching SA do the heavy lifting for them! only to be betrayed by them & politians. SADF lads have nothing to be ashamed of or apologize for. It was this valiant fight that made ANC realize they could not win power by force of arms. This war was not a wasted war
@hstac09 not South African nor am I. British I grew up in several African countries Northern Rhodesia, South West Africa & Kenya (mines). SA lads English & Afrikaner my boets & my enemies. I knew them well we hunted in the bush, we swam in African lakes, we fought in the dusty fight rings after school. I left Africa for good many years ago (read back) & as any SA ex pat in western Australia, Earls Court or Atlanta knows you may leave Africa but Africa never leaves you
Yes, I would also like to know what happened to all the equipment - but I think we all know. The same thing that happened to the capability, knowledge and skills.
But like all wars I guess, the actual reason and circumstances for having it faded over time.... the sad thing for me that it sometimes feels that a nation is fading too. But, our nation is very, very young... still we have survived so much in a short space of history!
3) And at those walls, I stand for hours. But where is your name now my friend? Don’t they understand that your soldier has perished and without reason they now carry the blame!
Chorus B) (second time)
And at those walls, I stand for hours. At those walls, I stand for hours.
Chorus B) Are you calling me? Are you calling me back to the Kaplyn my friend? Through the years the world has turned, when we were young how could we have guessed it? Where are you now? Are your name remembered on our walls? You were never honored and now no one will write about your life and the things you still wanted.
2) After all these years, lost in the distance we drift around in our deeds. Only soldiers live with the damage of borders. How can we understand? ‘Cause that bush eats our foot prints, in the dark bush brothers was born. In the darkness we prayed together for a tomorrow. Just one moment and your life were over.
Chorus A) Are you calling me? Are you calling me back to the Kaplyn my friend? Through the years the world has turned, when we were young how could we have guessed it? Are you looking for me? Are you looking for me in the dust and your blood? You said you hear how God is calling you… and then it was all over.
dtPabst88 and all the others looking for a translation:
1) Between bushes and trees, between borders we all wait for tomorrow. But at eighteen we were all lost, how can we understand? And who now weigh our lives? Because God alone know why we are shaking (scared). ‘Cause at eighteen we all just wanted to live. Just one moment and your life were over.
Bok is to be commended. I served NDP in 1982/83 at 3SAI, Potch, and Sectors 10 and 20. Camps until early 1992. Never have understood how "the war" was only till 1989.
Netherlands must take action to help white Afrikaner people, it's their own blood. Dutch government must not let himself be dragged around anymore by England, or the EU, but take firm action to save their White descendants, their very own people in South Afrika. the heart and soul of Dutch culture.
@rooizilver The same with the real American colonials, so maligned, who are led by the collar like dogs. Their silence is contemptible, allowing their own children to be raised as nothing and no one, with defamed heritage to pay debts.
@westchesterny I am a descendant of those "real American colonials" and believe me SOME of us still stand up and resist tyranny as much as we can muster. I am of English, Scots-Irish, Dutch and Flemish stock...with a little regular Scottish thrown in. I have degrees in both History and Political Science. Your comment was poetic and timeless. It was also very true...except for what I mentioned in that first sentence. I spread the word here about SA current situation... sorry I am out of space..
Roep jy my terug na die Kaplyn, my vriend?
@rooizilver It is good to hear Afrikaans again. at one time in my life I heard it all the time it is burnt into my mind. As an Afrikaans speaker yourself you will not have the experience of feeling the emotinal impact the language has based purely on the it's sounds it has an inherent appeal to the listener regardless of being able to understand it.. Thanks for taking the time to type out the words here.
Roep jy my terug na die Kaplyn, my vriend? Waar is jy nou?
Roep jy my terug na die Kaplyn, my vriend? Waar is jy nou?
lovely song although I don't understand all the lyricss, but on the political note I must say that I feel for you our south african brothers who are being largely condemned by the so called international community. My roots lie in Carelia and Marocco that no longer exist and only because my forefathers fought i have language and an identity and sense of belonging even though it lies in different countries and ven continents. Stay strong brothers, we feel for you .
Thank you... I've heard the same proud statistics about the SADF when I whas very young - being one of the best trained armies alongside that of Israel. Recently though, we were made out to be bad soldiers and people, but your 3rd party view cements my believes in our people and our capabilities!
@Civilizations3000 Thankyou. We have a big Lebanese community in South Africa. As a South African all i can say is we did what we had to do,if it meant creating our own nuclear weapons or fighter jets we did it regardless of the cost and the alienation of those two faced politicians that were our allies in war but condemned us politically in their countries. Doesnt history just keep repeating itself? We were fortunate we are rich in natural resources or we may have been a basket case like Zim.
All that fighting only for your Government to hand over your country to blacks who ended up raping white women, killing famers and once all the whites are gone, will let the country degenerate into shit just like the rest of Africa. It's not just happening in S.A but all White countries, it proves that blacks are animals.

I was there too in 1986-87 in the infanrty. What a complete crock of shit this war was. I lost some of my best friends up there, for what? You dumb ass Dutchmen were too pig ignorant to see what our government was up to - creating a war to justify their own existence. Less than 50 years after the 1948 Apartheid election, you sold us out to the ANC - on their terms, you dumb fucks. Some legacy eh? You stupid, thick Boer fucks - thanks for nothing. Fuck you and your pointless war
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@justie2 If your thick ass forefathers had not voted General Smuts out in 1948, this war would have never happened. Instead of a gradual adjustment on our terms, we got war, terrorism, sanctions, pariah status and a sports boycott. We could have had mass white immigration (the Afrikaner government restricted this - assholes wanted to keep it pure) and been like Australia or Canada today. Instead the Afrikaaners sold the country out to the ANC - on their terms. Stupid fucking Dutch cunts.
@ben0nib0y lol first of all my forefathers werent dutch you dum fuck they were German and Irish and my grandfather was actually in the royal navy> I am currently in the british army you dom peice of shit. Our country is fuct coz that very army you dissing didnt do what AUstralia did. Dont come with your winging cause it was to tough for you. I will say sorry for your friends deaths though. But to target the whole army and its operation as a whole and why the fuck would you want mass immigration?
@ben0nib0y I'm English and as a South African I find your diatribe appalling. We were fighting to prevent what is currently happening to South Africa; or are you happy with it the way it is.
BTW I did my service in 1975/6, saw a ton of action and lost a lot more mates than you did. Guaranteed! Would I do it again if I knew the outcome? In a heartbeat.
I think you may be part primate though. Most contributors agree that swearing is the crutch of a conversational cripple.
@brenton502 Well said Sir! And Thankyou for your role in defending our country; which was once great, despite the flaws in its policies; which are all that most choose to remember it for.
We will never forget the service, nor the blood spilled in our defence.
@salamanderjood Agreed, my friend. A certain race will need to be taught a lesson in respect. I don't know how many of us still fit into our Browns, but I know there still Engelsmanne and Boere out there that WILL make the difference. The next war is coming and we will have to learn to stand together. See you in the trenches, if you guys have the guts. "It is better to spend one day as a lion, than a hundred as a sheep" Benito Mussolini
This was the best time on my life . . . that I never want to experience again. I grew up quickly looking down the barrel of an R1 in Ondongwa - and we lost good men - and were told we won the war. It is a forgotten war because now that we look back, it was an embarrassing war - one that grew out of a perception of rooi en swart gevaar ('red and black danger').
@EmileWolfaardt While I am not proud of everything we did, I am proud to have served my country in the military (1979-80), and served it well. God bless South Africa - and please make the cost worth it. Thank you – we remember the price so many paid.
@EmileWolfaardt I have a lot of respect for you and all the servicemen that served on the border. We were winning, but with the undermining by the international community (especially the USA and our own low life NP government) and their cohesion we just couldn't stack up. Can you imagine how the cold war in the southern parts of Africa would have been like had we not intervened? The end of it is that the communists and the "freedom fighters" was better at spreading propaganda and using the media
Dink asb.
We have so much to be thankful for to the men that was on the border. I believe that every person should do some kind of service to earn their citizenship (voting rights etc). Whether it be with the military or other sectors whatever your skill set.
i think this song represents those brave men , who served their country, alot of respect to those who risk there lives, for there country, comrades, family.
@ jamaicangoodguy -except If you had lived or are living in Africa you have no business commenting on African affairs - even if you are of African decent. Apartheid was not the beginning or end of all things in Africa. Where were the immediate voices of concern when the massacre happened in Rwanda and other parts of Africa? As long as its not white people killing black people the world does not care. The growth you see in African countries is due to the investments by the new chinese masters.
to my great friend who died in service to his country in Dec 1989. I listen to this song everyday and will always honour your memory and your fellow fallen soldiers. Rob, we were young and carefree then. Remember u always. Thanks to Bok van Blerk for helping the younger generation to remeber what their fathers fought for. In some quarters you will never be the forgotten war.
@davidos863 REMEMBER, THOSE WHO YOU AND YOUR COMRADES KILLED TOO. I DONT BLAME YOU PERSONALLY IF THESE THINGS DID HAPPEN, AS IT WAS YOUR GOVENMENT AND COLD WAR POLITICS.MOST OF YOU WERE YOUNG MEN UNDER 25 YEAR OLD AT THAT TIME. THE COLD WAR KILLED MORE AFRICANS THEN AIDS,IT ALSO MADE SURE THAT AFRICAN COUNTRIES IN YOUR REGION DID NOT DEVELOPE. ALMOST ALL WARS WAS HAVE CEASED IN AFRICA SINCE THE END OF APARTHIED.ALL ARE GROWING AT OVER 3% MOZAMBIQUE 6.7% ANGOLA 7.8% ZIMBABWE HAS NEW .DIAMONDS
Dank die Here sy lewe was gespaar vir ons.
Zimbabwe, Southafrica, Namibia. Our farmers are displaced, dispossessed or killed, our afrikaans and german are not longer taught in Namibia, historical founder names are renamed, we leave the continent..... Africa 2011 no future for the white africans
No future in the all world for the white! whe sell our culture we cant be proud today! Neggres win in africa, islam wins in Europe! This is the end my friend as jim said! message from a french man!

@19Eragon78 Imagine if Piet Retief, Delary ext had this view of the future where we would be.. come on boys, be positive we are a smart and motivated culture, we came through much worse.. and we will get though this by being positive and fighting this war battle by battle day by day.... remember every day, every thing you let slip is another little battle won by the oppressor.....
Its been along time since I have thought back to those days when the world we lived in was different , I spent two years of my young life between Katima Mulilo and Oshakati as a Soldier in 1987-1989, so yes I was there like so many of us forgotten men of this country , we made friends and we lost friends , I say to this song let it Honor those who gave it all but never came home ! 32Bn

EmileWolfaardt 11 months ago
@EmileWolfaardt I have a lot of respect for you and all the servicemen that served on the border. We were winning, but with the undermining by the international community (especially the USA and our own low life NP government) and their cohesion we just couldn't stack up. Can you imagine how the cold war in the southern parts of Africa would have been like had we not intervened? The end of it is that the communists and the "freedom fighters" was better at spreading propaganda and using the media

32Bn
