  • i got this pickup but it can't stop making this sharp hum whenever i palm mute.....

  • does it stay in tune in like drop c and does it stay in tune for a long time

  • Much REVERB!!!!!

  • question.. can an rg350dx be upgraded with crunch lab and liquifire pickups?

  • @petrucci973 of course. you can put in all humbuckers.

  • @givemeajackson hey bud.. i changed them a while ago and they sound wicked.. just gotta change that shitty infiniti middle single coil.. any suggestions?

  • @petrucci973 depends if you want to have a real sc there or a humbucker. if you dont care about the sc sound, dimarzio chopper or cruiser, if you do look at kinman's pickups/ seymour duncan's antiquity series/ dimarzio true velvet for real strat-ish sounds, duncan YJM/dimarzio injector/dimarzio evolution for more shreddy stuff. if you really wanna have good sound, get a kloppmann pickup there. but i think these belongs in a strat, not in an ibanez.

  • too much reverb, cant tell what your playing at the beginning

  • hi man, im chaging my blackout active pickups for a passive ones.. it this a great combination? i love solos so i cannot use active ones anymore.. do you know by any chance if x2n can be combined with another pickupc for soloing?

  • @guitarralaraja the evolution has a lower output, too much lower I mean. the perfect combination with the x2n in the bridge is a powerful pickup in the neck, like a tone zone. Than you have the ultimate power machine

  • @guitarralaraja my tips would be crunchlab + liquifire, or x2n + evolution neck, or seymour duncan sh6 and sh2

  • one question when you u do a divebomb harmonic (like at 0:10) and instead just pull up with the bar , how long does the note sustain for ? i have an rg350dx and the sustain and tone from those INF's just doesnt cut it for me

  • is the dimarsio evo bad ive heard so many bad reviews for it so should i rather go for a dimarsio breed?

  • @dmohr7 I don't know man, I like it...it got a lot of sustain..but maybe it's a little sharpy

  • @6StringsShaped well okay then does it sound alrite when u drop tune ?

  • @dmohr7 yes, I'm playing symphony X with that guitar (so I'd need a tone zone in the neck but the evolution is ok)

  • @dmohr7 I have an ESP LTD Viper 301 Custom with Dimarzio Evolutions in both the bridge and the neck positions and trust me..........they are both fucking amazing :) I play everything from clean fingerpicking styles to heavier than death metal and these evolutions handle them with an amazing tone. Btw, if its a heavy, bassy, crunch that you want in a heavy/death metal type genre, these things handle it and then some =D

  • @dmohr7 The Evolution is a good pickup. The neck pickup might be a tad low on the output compared to the neck, it's not that bassy. Then again, the bass guitar should be bassy, not the actual electric guitar. :)

  • Is that a emg-hz middle pickup?

  • @metalballs2010 No man, it was the original infinity s

  • @6StringsShaped Can't really see it clearly from here, I bet you rarely used that one. Btw, nice playing dude! \m/

  • Excelent Demo Man, Pretty Good \m/

  • X2N has amazing cleans what are you talkiung about? I put one in my RG and all you have to do is split the coil and it sounds just like an American Strat, if you are using just the humbucker with clean then yea the clean will suck, but that's why you wire the coil split function when you install the pickups..

  • hey what year did u buy the rg350 and did yours come with string trees on the headstock, because mine came with none. i herd string trees are supposed to help intonation and what not. jw.

  • @thojyout23 Hi friend. If I got what you mean for "string trees" don't worry, there's no floyd rose guitar with them, no need.

  • @thojyout23 No Ibanez has string trees for two reasons: 1. Floyd Rose 2. Shape of the headstock. You don't need string trees, you heard wrong, they would not help intonation ;)

  • Do you recomend this guitar for a intermediate rock player?( I don't pretend to buy pick ups). Tell me, is the wood good? comfortable?

  • @MrRaphaelLippi This is the best non-prestige Ibanez.

  • @6StringsShaped and what about the RG471AH(ash) or the RG321E (mahogany)??

  • @SHREDDER222X both good if you like fixed bridges. I don't.

  • Is it Evolution NECK on the Neck or is the Evo Bridge on the Neck??? :(

  • @SHREDDER222X it's the Evolution neck

  • @6StringsShaped thank you!! doesn't the output of each pickup affect your sound? cause the x2n has a very high output and the evo neck has a mid output

  • @SHREDDER222X you know it's ok like this, if you want the extreme guitar you can put the x2n in the bridge and the tone zone in the neck but after that, you guitar can play only one thing. So it's good to have a mid output one in the neck if you want a "Normal" versatile guitar, most of the guitars have a high output pickup in the bridge and a mid output one in the neck so that you can play in a larger range of genre

  • @6StringsShaped :O!!!! ohh i see!!!! thank you!!!! btw your skills crunch!!!! lml!!!! love your tone!!

  • @6StringsShaped idk man I put a D Activator X in my neck and it's almost the same output as my X2N and i can play anything with it.

  • desperate pickup, it sounds as muddy as the 80' but it gots hevily-evil balls. i'm gonna enjoy this on my stealth.

  • why do you say "never use x2n on clean channel"?

i think it has a nice trebly sound, really like it... do you think the x2n would be wasted on a low end ibanez or it can help make it sound better?

    thanks

  • @tapPOOH It's a too high output humbucker for clean sounds, it becomes a crunch :D

Anyway, what's you Ibanez? I think the x2n works good on every alder and mahogany body, doesn't matter the guitar or the price

  • @6StringsShaped

well i dont have one yet, i want to buy a GRG121 and turn it into a shred machine, i was thinking x2n bridge and super 2 neck.

im definitely staying away from tremolo and floyd rose, so i like the idea of spending about 200$ for a fixed bridge.

  • @tapPOOH It will be okay with the X2N. I have a suggestion, if you want the most beasty shred machine, get the x2n in the bridge and the tone zone in the neck. I know the tone zone is usually a bridge pickup, but trust me...................

  • 0:08 - 0:15 - WTF??? - AMAZING!!! lol

  • Thanks :)

  • Hey bro, whats your middle pickup? I need know because i want change my pickups. Thanks Love de x2n

  • @Taaatow Now I have a Dimarzio HS-3 but in the video I had the stock infinity. Check the other videos on my profile to hear the new HS-3 middle pickup...I think there's only one actually

  • I have one of these with a full set of Evo's in and another with Duncan JB Jr and Jazz combo with an Evo single in the middle! Loving that X2N!! Thinking about putting one in my Warmoth Strat!!!

  • Is the X2N recommended over the Evolution for the bridge position in all cases? I already have a guitar for metal, so I don't want that again. Would the Evolution bridge in a clean setting produce a semi-Strat sound?

  • Did you wire the x2n yourself?

  • Comment removed

  • What's the x2n?

  • @DNRAY95 The X2N is the Dimarzio pickups you see on my bridge position.

the GRG- 270 is an Ibanez GIO, you can see it because of the G letter. RG270 is an RG Ibanez, GRG270 is a GIO. They are Ibanez official products, so they are original, they're just the cheap models. Means lower quality of the parts, even the woods sometimes, that's why they have a really lower price.

  • @6StringsShaped you suggest DiMaRZio X2n or Seymour Duncan JB?ty

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 It depends on the sound you want...I have both. I have a RG with Dimarzio x2n and evo, and another RG with seymour duncan JB and Alnico II pro Slash. Maybe, I will always prefer dimarzios but both are very performing...

  • @6StringsShaped my favorite sound tone is the one from Maiden Live Ones if you know what i mean. Lead Solos like trooper etc

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 Well, everything is clear now. The seymour duncan is your pickup, the JB is exactly the one they use.

  • @6StringsShaped thanks a lot m8 and your a very good player bravo

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 You're welcome man. Sorry I didn't make a video of the duncans too...I guess I have to do one soon

  • awesome luved ur playin!! well can u say will Ibanez GRG- 270 be a good choice for me??

  • @DNRAY95 Every GIO Ibanez is a guitar to start with, they are the cheap Ibanez's. I mean, if you're playing for a middle-long time, maybe you deserve a real Ibanez and not a GIO model. But, if you are learning to play and you need a guitar to practice, then is perfect. By the way, the GIO RG270, if I remember, has the edge III bridge, which is nothing bad actually

  • @6StringsShaped Whats a GIo and what are the difference between the original model and Gio and whats different and other specifiactions in both of them??

  • sound is really rich!

  • its noisey!!

  • I have the same guitar. Are those aftermarket volume and tone knobs? Sick playing by the way.

  • @MrDimebuck You mean the chrome knobs? I think I've stolen them from an Ibanez S 7320 I owned at that time. But now i got back to black ones because a changed the pickguard. This is how the guitar looks today, check the following video:

    /watch?v=kjbiPewEzFY

  • Im gonna do this same upgrade to my same guitar, but im gonna but air norton single pup in the middle. Then I have the most versatile guitar!

  • no I knew that I just thought your shorts were in the way

I'm sorry i was a hater I was in a bad mood when I watched it the first time

I can clearly see which one you're using now. Thanks

    Sounds really good!

  • its kinda hard to compare the sounds of the pups

if you don't tell us which ones your using at the time

  • @Xidkwhat2callmyselfX it's not that hard actually...just look at the switch position, I only switch between 2 position: down x2n up evolution

  • wich pick up did you use to make the solo ???? evolution or x2n ???

  • This is nice because I have evo's in my bridge and neck, and I want to swap out the bridge for an X2N. Sounds great!

  • has the x2n a lot of attack? i want a very sharp attack, but no active PU

  • @givemeajackson The X2N is not active and has a LOT of attack. so here you go.

  • @6StringsShaped Thx, i'm going to put one in my Jackson js32 Kelly

  • These are good guitars, They are built like tanks, the tremelo seems flimsy but it does hold

  • too much reverb dude cant make out what ya playing hardly :P

  • @MrAdammassacre ya I know this video sucks a bit ;) check out the others I made recently with the same guitar

  • what ibanez RG is that ?

  • @chuckbuntz RG350DX, but i customized it.

  • Guitar sounds great man, check out my rg350dx mod, changed out the pickups for evos and I replaced the edge with a floyd

  • @andyrosebrook I find the edge very simmilar to she floyd but im always afraid i'm gonna yank out the bar on the edge

  • this is the EXACT setup i want for my ibanez s770. you have good taste my friend. do you think its a good combination? also, about the mid pickup, i never use the middle pickup, and i dont plan on spending any money on a pickup that ill never use, so should i just take out the pickup all together? what should i do about that?

  • @MrDudeface23 Nothing. As you can see I didn't change the middle pickup, I just put it lower

  • Ordered these pickups, just received them today. Going to have them installed in my RG5EX1 (which is essentially the same as the RG350DX) this weekend. I'd do it myself, but...I do not trust myself with a soldering iron. :/ Also, did you replace the mid pickup, and, if so, with what?

  • @CorporateNothing the mid pickup you mean the single coil?? No, I didn't replace it, it's the original infinity. I just put it as lower as possible, as i never use it

  • @6StringsShaped Yeah, the single coil. I never use it on my RG either. Haha, you know, it has always gotten in the way of my picking. I never thought to just lower it.

  • @6StringsShaped awesome video..and incredible sound. i just have a question..i have a dk2m and i plan to put the x2n in the bridge...but in the neck i don't know. evolution or breed..(i know you've allready chosen^^ but could you please tell me what are the 2 main differences between those 2? and which would be more suitable with the x2n..for sweeping , (metal) leads and even some nice warm clean sounds? thx...(i'm affraid that the x2n will overwhelm the evo:|) thx again:)

  • @6StringsShaped and one more thing..that's the dp159 evo or the dp158evo ?

  • I have a RG5EX1 .. I'm planning to put Dimarzio Evo DP158 and Evo 2 ... does anyone recmmend it ?

  • @IraqiNemesiS what kind of music are you trying to play? because if your going for that vai/satch/80's hair metal sound (and putting your guitar in drop D at the lowest) then those will work great but if your going for a heavier, really hardcore metal sound, then youll want something a little hotter (meaning it has a higher output, the dimarzio site says the outputs on all the pickups). just always make sure that the bridge pickup is hotter than the neck or it will sound bad.

  • @deathcore1239 first of all .. thx a lot for ur reply .... actually ... I'm between power/heavy metal stuff and Music like Vai and Satch and etc. ... so what do u recommend ?

  • @IraqiNemesiS funny, im in the same position as you (in terms of the music we like) and i litterally JUST today got an rg570 and im going to put in an x2n (for the metal) and an EVO2 (for the vai-type solos) i think it will work very well and have great balance. if you dont like the sound of that, try going for a D-activator and an EVO or EVO2. or a super distortion instead of the D-activator. or a D-activator X instead of the x2n. lots of things go great with EVO and EVO2

  • @deathcore1239 hah ... that's cooooool ... and congrats for ur new guitar :) .... then mmmmmmmmmm .. after researching ... I think I'm going to buy the Evolution DP158 and Evolution DP159 ...plugged into a :ine6 PODxt live ... i think it's gonna sound great .. what do u think ?

  • @IraqiNemesiS i think it sounds pretty good. i know the evo's are great pickups but i dont know how they are for metal. i'd imagine theyd be just fine for it but im not very sure. look for vids and see if you like it. however, im sure youll love the evo in the neck. what kind of guitar are you putting it in? mainly what kind of wood is the body made of

  • @deathcore1239 aha .... that's why i think I''m gonna depend on my POD a little bit ... lol ... and it's RG5EX1 .. Basswood body .

  • @IraqiNemesiS (my friend has that, i love that guitar, even the edge III is good if set up right) and i say go for it, the EVO's were built for basswood guitars (and alder) use the dimarzio pickup picker on the website to type in the type on music youll be playing, well, youll see. its pretty specific. just go to dimarzio(.)com and click on the pickup picker. then answer the questions about your guitar and style. works great!

  • @IraqiNemesiS and get white ones. theyll look damn sexy in it! different colors are no extra charge. blue might look good too. or purple, theyll be really original

  • @deathcore1239 man ..thx a million for ur replies .... it really helped ... i don't have other words to say except thx ... :) I will .. and for the color ... I'm about to pick the PINK in the neck and Green in the Bridge ... my guitar color is near to gray and dark green .. and i think these pink and green will be like an intense in the guitar .

  • @IraqiNemesiS how about pink/green bridge, pink single coil, then green/pink neck? like a sexy, punk, zebra! and no problem at all, always happy to help :)

  • @deathcore1239 lol ... not exactly ... it was to be pink .. but no pink color in AMAZON ... so i took the red .. and it's gonna be the red on the neck .. and green on the bridge .. and i have the back single in the middle .. guess it will bean intense on my guitar ;) .. and thank u so much again :)

  • @IraqiNemesiS no prob, again. and sounds awesome/ btw, i got my 570 all done. x2n+EVO2 sound AMAZING together. subscribe and ill have a vid up in a couple days

good luck getting the sound you want dude!

  • i have the same guitar, im lookin into the x2n for the bridge position, would u say its better than the evolution for the bridge position? i play metal and im lookin into learning some older stuff too, like van halen and such, and the inf4 and inf3 arent bad, but im lookin for something with a more distinct sound, and definately a better sound out of the bridge pickup

  • but....in a setting like this...with a x2n on the bridge..evolution neck...both of them hambucher....how dimarzio pickup could be better on the middle singlecoil?knowing that i asking for a solution to playing clean sweeps and for a sound hot...very hot....like a fender strat sound...like weatherly delayed sound...a dark sound reverbered and delayed as Cure 's clean sweeps sound...

  • @darkluxfero So, Dimarzio's are not for you xD

  • to much reverb

  • whats the f spaced stand for?>.< never understood

  • @slipknotandmh Check the section Pickups Faq "F-spaced and Standard" in DiMarzio Internet Site. Anyway it's about the polespaces of the pickups, F-spaced means "Fender Spaced", so this pickups are suitable on Bridges derivating by Fender. Every licensed Floyd rose is a Fender derivation, that's why I put the X2N on my Ibanez. (X2N is available only in F-spaced, other dimarzios have both)

  • @slipknotandmh uuuummmmm im 100% sure that it means floyd spaced, which means theyre made to fit a guitar with a double locking trem of some kind. but i think fenders are spaced the same way? im not sure but if you have a trem, get f spaced, if you have a fixed bridge, dont. but you can have an f spaced in a fixed bridge as well as a regular with a trem. i dont even know why they made special ones

  • pickups are f spaced or normal?

  • @avellinesevolante the X2N is f-spaced.

  • @6StringsShaped in a guitar like the rg (i will buy a s570 and i will change pickups with the evolution set) the onfly f spaced is the bridge pickup?

  • how bout the volume difference between the two pickups? i read that the x2n is louder than the evolution? is it noticable when u switch from bridge to neck?? im thinking of having the same setup with my ibanez =)

  • would you say the X2N wouls be a good choice for heavy playing in drop C tuning?

  • @deathcore1239 sure ;)

  • @6StringsShaped ill have to check them out then. thanks dude

  • @6StringsShaped How does the x2n compare to the Emg 81. Thanks

  • @SR5127CL EMG are active pickups, they can't be compared to x2n. In this case the difference is...you! which one do you prefer, active or passive ones. Sure they are both excellent picks

  • @SR5127CL I mean does it have the overall same tone and crunch.

  • what pickup would you suggest for the middle?

  • reverb :(

  • Which one would you prefer? X2N or D-Activator X? I heard the X2N is a super high gain pickup but it could get muddy sometimes when you turn the gain up? And the D-Activator X has slighty less output then the X2N but is still good for really high gain but has more clarity on a really high gain setting. Im into all types of metal playing and I really don't know which one to choose.

  • Comment removed

  • Im thinking about putting the some set up you have in my Rg 350 M-ye

  • We have the same guitar dude, except mine is the Ex (black). I ordered a D-Activator X in the bridge (W/B) and an Evo in the neck (B/W). I can't wait to get them!

  • @EldubeG25 four or five years ago I owned also the EX :) It's also nice in black...anyway, yes, it seems a good setting, good luck

  • @6StringsShaped The thing is that, I wanted the DX, but when I went to the music store, the guy told me he just sold it the day before... I was fuckin pissed off 'cause the DX is deffenetley more beautiful, and it's more like Vai's Jem777 lol. Then the guy asked me if I wanted it enough to wait two weeks, so that they would have ordered another DX. I wanted so much that Ibanez, so I said «Look, I don't give a shit about the finish, same model, same wood, same pickups, same trem...». Lol

  • @6StringsShaped Also, the guitar was priced $630, he sold it to me $500. Not a bad day finally lol.

  • Dude if you get a push/pull pot to switch the x2n from series to parallel or even coil split you can get a REALLY good clean tone. It sounds like a really really high output strat pickup in single coil mode.

  • 6stringsshaped@ haha k thx for the info man :D

  • 6stringsshaped@ k thx man so many people say it dosent

  • @jackassguyman Don't mind. I know many people puts x2n on les pauls, hidden under the pickup cover. And it works as fuck!

  • Hi, i was wondering if it would sound good with 2 f-spaced x2n in my les paul? i would be grateful if someone help me.

  • @jackassguyman Yes it will

  • Your Dimarzio evolution is a DP 158 or DP 159?

  • @nicaperformer DP158W

  • @CgTvShow Fender is responsible for Jackson and Ibanez, since they were both knockoff companies. So basically you aren't a guitar player or lover if you don't like Fender. And the next time you want to tell someone off, use proper grammar. "There" is not right for the tense you were using.

  • @riseagainstmeatloaf So your saying if some one doesn't like Fender that they're not a guitar player? Where's the logic in that? I've been playing for years and I personally do not like Fender guitars. They look nice and all but they're just not for me. Does that make me any less of a guitar player? Ibanez was making guitars long before Fender, so no, Fender is not where it all came from. In fact, the Les Paul model was invented before Fender made the Strat or Telecaster models.

  • @riseagainstmeatloaf wow nub Jackson guitars were a branch off of Charvel guitars. get a history lesson. and yes strats are nice but there are definitely better guitars.

  • @CgTvShow You don't like Fender? Well Fuuuuuuuuuuck you! Fender is where it all came from.

  • @ibanice100

the difference is the spacing between the poles on the pickup at the bridge

f-spaced is slightly wider than normal

the split came when guitars really split between Gibson and Fender.

f-spaced means Fender spaced, whereas regular is Gibson.

  • damn you're good...i got the same guitar just different volume knobs...looks like you're having just as much fun as i do with mine

  • I have the same guitar, but with evolution set... they sound amazing! the neck has so much warm, its perfect if you are the type of guy who likes to solo with lot of feeling and want to make the notes fill the room, and then you switch to bridge and it gets agressive and loud enough to cut through the music. I must say, if you buy a ibanez with stock pickups, make an effort to change them, specially for dimarzios, and then try a powerfull amp.. best combination for me: ibanez+evolutions+marshall

  • Ibanez sucks but as I see in this video not all of them (+pickup changed)

Only good thing about ibanez for me - they're very handy

  • I'm thinking on the old jem set, two paf-pro and the single maybe fs1 like Gilbert, because maybe paf-pro are better on clean that evo? What do you think? Are paf-pro stronge enough to do squeals and all that stuff? I thinking in madding a 350 too, but I don't know if the bridge has tunning problems. Nice set

  • @ibanice100 hello I believe f-spaced and regular spaced points to the spacing of the pole peices of the pickup (the round thingies). F-spaced has a wider spacing and is used mainly in guitars with floating bridges like fenders, ibanez etc. But some hardtails use f-spacing too like my epiphone les paul standard. It is f-spaced in the bridge pickup..

  • I'm really thinking about buying evolutions. How did the Evolution compare to the infinity stock pickup? Did the pickup make a huge improvement in your tone? May you please give me description about the difference in pickups because this is my 1st time changing? It would be really really appreciated! Nice vid 5/5 + favorite

  • @AgariRG The infinity stock were not that bad, the guitar was playable. But there's no doubt that dimarzios are absolutly better. Buying evolutions is always the right choice. Just spend a moment by thinking on what music do you play: I got evolutions in the neck but not in the bridge because in my opinion it's perfect for the neck but playing progressive i needed something more powerful and dynamic in the bridge, the x2n. anyway, also for the bridge, the evo is better than the infinity ;)

  • @6StringsShaped Okay i see. thanks a bunch! Ill go with an evolution in the neck. I feel so confident with it. As for the bridge im thinking about an evolution too, but i think ill keep researching until im 100% positive. Once again, thank you so much for the reply.

  • @AgariRG you're welcome. One thing more: consider also the dimarzio tone zone for the bridge ;)

  • Nice Guitar!!! Mine has evo for bridge and neck. sounds tight!!!

  • hey dude.

awesome playing. iv got an air norton in the neck... would it be a good combination to have an evo bridge do you think?

  • @v1kkz yes it is good...will sound as steve vai

  • so would this dimarzio combo be good for thrash?

  • @GJRM18 maybe there's something better for trash..this is a good combination for progressive

  • I have a question. do you have a bridge evo in the neck position or a neck evo in the neck position?

  • @suomik1988 I don't know actually if there's a difference like this. It's the firts time I hear about "neck evo and bridge evo". Anyway, I know for sure that this evolution on my guitar is used in both positions, it's a great bridge pickup too. But you know, when you have a X2N, the evolution must go in the neck.

  • Just from listening, that is definitely an Evo Neck model, if it was the bridge model it would be much brighter and less thick sounding.

  • your pickups are my dream yo really have a good sound, i love dimarzio x2n!!

  • @rafaga3000 yes the x2n is absolutely great! I can say now there's no Ibanez prestige that i could like more than my rg

  • @6StringsShaped now you can play tender surrender from stive vai you have the guitar for thath... oo.. an sorry for my bad english

  • hey nice playin dude, how much did both pickups cost.. Well anyways nice vid

  • @sk8x4lf thanks mate. These pickups cost about 100 eur for each...I spent 109 for the x2n and 102 for the evo.

  • How much cost that guitar? Is pretty cool in white!
