I have to say out of all the years of listening to music, I never get tired of The Boss and the E Street Band. There is something special about this band that sets them miles apart from any other band. You can tell that their music is real!!!!
@montanok1952 I don't think there has EVER been a singer/songwriter that has captured people's moods as often and as spot on as Bruce. Near enough every song of his each and every one of us can relate to a moment in our lives. The Boss IS THE BOSS!
im 21 n have been a huge fan of bruce since i was a lil girl cause my dad drilled bruce into my head he was my 1st concert n will be my sons first concert because your 1st concert should be amazing n i have never been dissappointed with bruce i love the boss n e street band n will till i die i love gettin up n dancing round my house everyday with my son to the BOSS!!
It's cold and dark winter now (very dark and cold here in Finland) but every time I listen to this song, it gives so much hope and I know that maybe someday I reach my own Promised Land.
With most of the band pushing sixty — and in the case of a certain Big Man, well past it — the cross stage knee-slides and mic-stand acrobatics are a thing of the past. What remains is a level of endurance and a commitment to his craft that remains virtually unchanged since the beginning of his career. It's hard to imagine how many times he's sung "The Promised Land," but it must be hovering somewhere near a thousand. He still delivers it with the same passion he did in 1978
@barneybeyond Yeah, The best drummer, the best guitarist, almost the best basist...But get it all together with the integrity, passion and love for music: you get the e srteet band! 2008 Helsinki Olympic Stadion: gig lasted 3 hours and 15 min. Continious small orgasms :)
I own this DVD and I think it might be like The Who playing at the Concert for 9/11...maybe not Springsteen at his peak but perhaps at his most powerful....before he lost Clarence...
I gotta say that I was never really into his music, most because I never listened to a lot of his CDs, just knew a couple of songs. Now I'm watching this concert and I'm beyond speechless. I'm partying alone in my home like fuck! Incredible man. Amazing music. Shame on me for never checking out all of his music before.
the recordings and qualiy of picture of the concert is above and beyond, but what blows is the screnes...they are way to small for the people in the back to see.
@samradseresht I love Stevie, his attitude, his approach and his care for the field. But Nils is off the charts great. Saw him last year with my son in Cranford, Nj for a solo show and he was unreal.
@samradseresht Nils without a doubt...check out his solo stuff. Stevie is the best back up man in the business hands down, but Nils has got him in the guitar department.
Don't get me wrong, I love the song to bits but the guitar 'solo' just before the sax comes in is a bit embarrassing. Not technically, but melodically. Cheers!
This video brings tears to my eyes, especially on a day like today! You will be missed Clarence! But not forgotten as we can always listen to the beautiful music you and the Boss made.
No way did i just see Simon Cowell's name on a Springsteen video. Springsteen could shit more talent than that cunt could ever produce. The greatest performer to ever hit the stage doing his thing, does it get any better? Springsteen = Legend.
I love watching this video for two reasons. This song speaks to me personally. Second? I don't mean this negatively, but I didn't know this message speaks so strongly to culture outside of North America. It makes me so happy to feel that music can bring people so universally. Oh and rock on Clarence!
- you may be unable to handle this epicness. its recommended to rest 15 min each number you listen from Bruce Springsteen till you can handle an huge amount of epicness.
- if you can handle this great amount of epicness make shure you enjoy it every day :D (at least 2 hours a day should do it).
- dont forget to drink, eat, and sleep cuz ya do not wanna stop listening.
- dont let people around you see al epicness at once (OVERFLOOWWW).
The battle isn't about being successful and making money. It's about keeping a loving, caring, warm heart in the face of all the adversities and circumstances in this world. Ti Amo, Bruce thank you for being there as a protector of the heart.
I LOVE Bruce Springsteen!!!! His music is eternal and real. Musician's today need to learn EVERYTHING from this man. His music is from the soul. Bruce FOREVER!
Man, does it really get any better than this...the music, the performance live?! Like Obama said at the Kennedy honors..his concerts are more like a 'communion'
@Petiber True. There are so many great bands that aren't popular or only have moderate commercial succes. There's Free Energy and Titus Andronicus, who arent very succesful. The Gaslight Anthem who are big enough to play at shows like this one but not a household name, The Dropkick Murphy's (not sure of their status). And then there are the popular ones like U2 (who 4 sum reason no one my age cares about) (I'm 13) and Green Day, who are considered sell outs.
this song probably means more to me than anything else around
